Sapphire brings the power of graphics ‘supercomputing’ to enthusiasts with their 100251SR Radeon HD 4870 X2 card. With 1600 (800 x 2) Stream Processing Units, the card delivers unapproachable graphics performance for complicated 3D rendering or gaming.
The Sapphire 100251SR Radeon HD 4870 X2 card has 2GB of high-throughput GDDR5 memory, clocked at 750MHz and the GPU core is clocked at 900MHz. Supporting AMD CrossFireX technology, the high-speed connectors on each card allow two cards to be used together for enhanced performance when installed in a CrossFireX compatible motherboard.
The Radeon HD 4870 X2 incorporates the latest ATI Avivo HD Technology for enhanced video display, and a second generation built-in UVD 2 (Unified Video decoder 2) for the hardware accelerated decoding of Blu-ray and HD DVD content for VC-1, H.264 and MPEG-2 codecs, reducing CPU load. Via the included DVI-to-HDMI adapter, this card supports multi-channel audio formats (up to 7.1) and combines audio and video output on a single cable for direct connection to an HDMI-ready display. Support for DirectX10.1 ensures optimal compatibility with all DirectX10.1 applications, and enables stunning 3D graphics and shading effects in the latest games.

*Bleeping* FREAKY FAST!
- Pros: This thing is fricking fast.. I went from a EVGA 8800 GTX Ultra and the speed is noticeable and i'm not even running above 1900x1200. AoC full blast looks beautiful. Crysis has been tamed! I can actually crank up my settings now and still above 30FPS most of the time. Mass Effect, UT2K3, WiC and GRAW2 are just plain fluid fully maxxed AA + res . Hands down the fastest card I've ever seen.
- Cons: I have a Antec 900 with 4 120mm fans and the a behemoth 200m top fan pulling heat... Good thing too because this thing is lava hot.
- Other Thoughts: People keep commenting on the size of the card, but its no longer or thicker than my old EVGA 8800 GTX Ultra. Also its not a lot noisier as well. one thing though that surprised me... the card weighs as much as my main board.. LOL its a FAT BOY!
Do yourself a favor and pick up a 800 watt PS..I went with Kingwin, it even has built in 6pin and 8pin cables that you'll need.
Very Bad Company , no customer Support.
- Pros: Looks good in top of my desk. Makes a great Paper weight.
- Cons: A Nightmare :( , bought 2 of this for Quadfire and has been a true nightmare. one of my cards die on me for no reason , i suspect due to the extreme heat output of this cards constantly. I tried to get RMA fron sapphire and they want ti $50.00 US Dollars for the administration fees lol whaaat ??? also for shipping this heavy card its another $27.oo US Dollars , meaning that if i want to get my card fix or replace due to hardware failure of the card i have to spent $77.00US Dollars to start with , Thats Wrong , very wrong , sapphire wont tell you about the hidden charges for RMA until you actually have problems and want to RMA your card. very bad customer support , they will give you the run around in order not to give you and RMA for your card , disrispectfull customer service agents. Bad company , no customer support, Hidden fees = Last sapphire product for me.
- Other Thoughts: Please Newegg do not remove this review as you did with my last one , im saying the truth nothing but the truth. Sapphire its not a good company when it comes to customer support and waranty. they told me to get the warranty service from newegg , i called newegg and thay told me that Sapphire its the one for me to get the warranty from ? Thats very wrong :( , now i have a $600.00US Dollars Paper weight that i bought from newegg , as i bought this card the first day it came out and i paid the premium price for it. Dont fall into Sapphire trap people , do not buy their prodct as their customer support its non existance. What a Nightmare , shame on Sapphire for thair hidden fees for RMA , beware of this guys. Not worth it.

Wonderful Graphics Card
- Pros: Wonderful graphics, running every single game in HIGH HIGH without a lag.
- Cons: heats up quick, but i knew this problem already.
- Other Thoughts: 5/5 stars, great graphics.
Does exactly what we need it to
- Pros: I work at a surveying company where we deal with harsh amount of point clouds in the hundred of billions. We also do high-res orthography up 1.5" resolution pictures. I have installed this card on three computers and none of them have had any hook-ups, and all worked better than we expected to. The only thing that you need to be aware of is that this card requires two power connectors to be connected to it, so be sure that you have a beefy power supply with lots of PCI-E power connectors.

- Other Thoughts: This this is HUGE....weighs over 5 kilos and is so long, that I bought a case specifically to handle it's length. This card will not fit in most mid-size cases that have the hard drives running in line with the case, as opposed to having them be perpendicular. Be sure you have a nice big case before purchasing this card.
Amazing
- Pros: Incredible. I couldn't be happier. The first game I installed on my new rig was Counter Strike: Source. I consistantly have 300fps (the max CS will allow you to have) with max resolution and graphics all the way up. Every game I toss at this beast chews it up and spits it out with incredible performance. I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this card.
- Cons: It runs hot, but that's not a problem. I purchased a COOLER MASTER HAF 922 case and it keeps that baby under control. I also installed two seperate fans into the side panel just in case. In all...I'd say I have zero complaints.
