service sucks
- Pros: cant give none to a c.rappy company.
- Cons: under stand one thing with visiontek, if you need answer they will not help you, they hardly answer there own forum and complain about ppl posting too much in the forum, which lead me to believe why have one in the first place. second there support is below average between a rock and the floor. if you have any problem with any visiontek product be prepared no not get help, answers, wait months for rma, and kicking your self for buying anything from visiontek.
- Other Thoughts: some of there stuff are buggy had a few cards and they work when they wanted to. finding help was so bad made me wonder why they even have customer support in the first place cause they do not really support anything it like there only one person running the company.
- Pros: Plays every game I can throw at it on high to max settings.
- Cons: I was experiencing random lockups and video artifacting. It turned out to be caused by the old vBIOS. Once I managed to flash the vBIOS to the updated version everything worked as advertised.
- Other Thoughts: I have an older version of the card. New ones should come with the updated vBIOS. It can run fairly hot but it is within ATI's specifications.
Overall, a great buy.
- Pros: -Quick, runs just about everything I have on full
-Dual Slot (hot air gets thrown out the back) -RV770 Core @ 750 -GDDR5 Memory @ 900 (per memory chip, total ~3600?)
- Cons: -Lock-ups and random restarts...which I figured out was caused by the 29% defualt fan speed. Fixing it was easy enough...using a beta version of a "Tray Tool" I made my own custom fan profile.
-New fan speeds made the card somewhat...audible, not a big deal though
- Other Thoughts: I would say for temps, it idles in the high 50's to low 60's (C). Under load, it goes into the mid 60's (otherwise, I would hear the increase in the fanspeed).
If you would purchase an aftermarket cooler or one with a non-ATi release model cooler, you would have less noise and heat.
I deducted an egg because of the fan profile messup by ATi...however, I hear the 8.11 Catalyst has basic fan control built in (if I recall correctly)
