Great card!
- Pros: Runs Cool and Quiet. . I purchased it for my HTPC. I hear only the Seasonic 700 PSU and case fans. The fan speed is adjustable. I didn't have to lower it to watch movies like other cards. The nicest part, the length of the card is shorter then most other designs, allowing it to fit nicely in HTPC cases. I want to purchase a second just to try crossfire in an HTPC. Very Pleased!
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: ThermalTake DH101
Phenom II 810. 4G Kingston KVR1066D2N7/K2 (Most compatible memory out and it works at 1.8v 1066) Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4 utilizing optical out to my 6.1 Yamaha-Polk Audio sytem. Internal Pioneer Blu ray- BDC 2202B, Sapphire 4850 Vapor-X 47"Phillips LCD,
Decent Card for the Price
- Pros: It works. Now I'm playing Dota maxed flawlessly (I KNOW that I can push this card way more. I'm just too broke to buy any other games)
I've been doing some research on ati's 4850, and I'm sure this baby can run all today's games on great resolution (19 - 22 inch screens) with near 60 fps.
A great budget gaming card.
- Cons: Wished it was free. I know that I could spend about 20 more dollars to upgrade to 4870 with gddr5 memory, but I just couldn't because I'm on a tight budget. Knocked off an egg because it I'd prefer to buy a 4870 card, just couldn't though.
- Other Thoughts: I'm not some bragger who'd post his or her complete specs online. My build ended up costing on 600 dollars and I'd prefer this budget gaming rig over any pre-built one just because I know that I'm not buying some computer somebody built using parts that they have a hard time selling. Buy this card if you're tight on budget, otherwise upgrade to at least 4870.
Where is the 4890 using this technology!!!
- Pros: Worked right out of the box for my 22"LCD @ 1680x1050, is faster then the 8800GT I had in this system (4400x2 @ 2.6GHz). No complaints! Typical temps are 35C @ idle and 48C when gaming (note: I have four case fans).
- Cons: As reported by others and in official reviews the hot air is not ported out the back of the case as would be desirable.
Also, the price premium. about 20-25 higher than a standard 4850 is hard to swallow.
- Other Thoughts: So far worked like a champ and stays cool, I really like the cooling technology and have decided to start making my systems as cool and quite as possible when idle or running with low level usage (without going down the water cooling path).
