5 out of 5 eggsStill running maxed!

Pros: I've had this card since 11/05/09 and it still runs everything out completely maxed out! I have never had any problems what so ever with it, eather i got lucky or everything in my Rig just worked great together lol ikd. It runs BF3 maxed with Vsync on ,idk the frames cause it was always so smooth i never even looked

Cons: It was $400 when i bought it... thats about it lol... (Not a con to me but) This thing is defiantly huge! (was gonna say definitely but my auto correct said that... and i like it better...) I did try Eyefinity just so i could comment on it, it was kinda fidgety. it also looked wierd cause my screens r not next to each other, and the resolution was wiggin... if i put some time in trying to make it right i'd have more to say about it sry guys...

Other Thoughts: I definitely want to pick up a 2nd one, the reviews on the 5970(which is basically 2 in1 of this) made me rather just Cross 2 of these

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: good performance runs almost everything in high or very high graphics

Cons: did have problems with the drivers but that is not them. that is a problem with ATI/AMD they don't have a good driver installation first time i installed didn't work just would not install the drivers gave errors.
There is a work around- you have to open up a CMD with administrator privileges, go to the extracted files and execute the installer in the command line wait till its done and it runs great

Other Thoughts: ATI/AMD need to work on there drivers that's why their chips aren't running as fast as some of nvidias if they revamped their drivers then they could out perform nvidia

5 out of 5 eggsSOOO HAPPY

Pros: This card is amazing. This is my first build and the first time I am seeing wow in full graphic settings, its like seeing wow for the first time. Run two of these and no game can stop you, period

Cons: Huge. wish it didnt cover extra pci slots but I dont care, its amazing.

Other Thoughts: this is my first desktop, I've been playing wow on laptops since the dawn of time. I'm so glad I went with this card. cant wait to do eyefinity.

You'll need to use the display port if you wanna run three monitors, so keep that in mind when choosing a display. you might want to buy an active display port to dvi converter if your monitors dont have display port.

5 out of 5 eggsGut wrenching awesomeness

Pros: Beautiful, just beautiful. I don't know if there's a game around that I can throw at it and actually get a hiccup or even a slight slowdown. Max settings at 1600x900 on all the games I've got, unstoppable.

Cons: This thing is definitely on the big side, so I couldn't imagine having much playing room with a mid-tower. But then again, almost no cards these days are on the small side of things.

5 out of 5 eggsNICE DEAL!

Pros: Just upgraded from a 8800 gt to 5870; first thing I noticed was how smooth the graphic was generating on Bad Company 2, L4D2, AVP and COD: BO. Got this baby for $275 on newegg with the 10% off promo code and $30 off mail-in rebate with free 3 days shipping!! *Plus, its not loud at all with the fan noise.

Cons: Tried to use Driver Sweeper to wipe out Nvidia to install ATI, didnt work out so well, had to reinstall Window 7 beware.

Other Thoughts: Everything just runs smoothly!

3 out of 5 eggsSevere GSOD problems

Pros: This card can handle everything I've thrown at it, it looks beautiful and runs cool and quiet.

More over, it's cheaper then the nVidia competitor card and performs almost as well (and sometimes better) in a lot of testing, making it a very common "best bang for your buck" card with popular review sites.

Cons: Oh dear.

If you haven't heard of GSOD yet, let me fill you in. GSOD or Grey Screen of Death is an error that causes your system to lock up with a odd pattern of grey blocks and lines on the screen.

It isn't exclusive to ATI 5800 cards, but from everything I read it IS a rampant problem that has no dependable solution.

I tried everything under the sun, from new bios (both card and mobo), memory adjustments, full OS and driver installations. You name it, I tried it and the GSOD problem is as bad as it ever was.

It's common enough, but sapphire had absolutely no idea what the problem was and couldn't offer a solution. The popular tech support sites couldn't provide a sold answer to the problem, either.

I'm in the process of RMAing it now - luckily, Newegg turned out to be a real stand up company and have been very helpful with the entire process, even going as far as giving me a pass on the restock fee.

Other Thoughts: I might try another 5870, but it won't be a sapphire.

It will be from Newegg though. You really can't beat that kind of customer service.

5 out of 5 eggsSleek and smooth

Pros: It's fast, just like you think it is. The physical design of the card is awesome. My benchmark scores went up a lot. :)

Cons: Very long card

Other Thoughts: Do your research and make sure it will fit inside your case. I thought I knew the dimensions prior to buying it, but I must have been wrong because the card barely fits. I have maybe half an inch between it and my HDD mount.
