Pros: Outstanding video card with OC'ing headroom that should be future proof for several years especially OC'd and Crossfired.
Cons: Price
Other Thoughts: Sorry there MoJo but GameChild is correct. the CPU you have (AMD IIX3) even OC'd to 3.6 is a serious bottle neck for this particular card. Hell even a i7 OC'd to 3.8+ is a bottle neck for this card "in some games" because you will get about the same FPS at 1600X1200 that you will at 2560x1600 because these 2 GPUs are literally standing around waiting for the CPU to send it data. and the i7 965 OC'd to 3750mhz in this review gets fully bottle necked on Call of Duty 5. Same with Fallout 3. That CPU BTW is approx 300% faster than your OC'd AMD II X3.
Now if you ever Crossfire this video card then even worse those 2 video cards are just going to be lolly gagging around waiting for that AMD II X3 to feed them in virtually any game.
This is by far the best invesment I could of made, been planning to build a high-end system with my kids for quite some time now and wanted to use this build to inspire future educational prospects like CGI, Rendering, 3D CAD, etc.
The Athlon X3 435 oc'd to 3.4ghz on air, OCZ AMD BE 8gb @ 8-8-8-24 2T to 1720 1.64v set manually, all on a DFI lp jr 790gx-m3h5 utilizing an old bios from 07/06/2009.
Right place at the right time, lol :}
Cons: 1. No X6 AMD cpu like "The Thuban" until late quarter this year, or early quarter next year.
2. Don't have the 2nd HD5970 to Xfire.
3. Having to play the waiting game, again.
Also, don't have it water cooled yet....
Other Thoughts: I've had this card for a couple of weeks now and finally installed it this past Friday because of not having a mobo, got the wrong item a couple of times, Newegg took very good care of me. We've been taking in and out of the box drooling over ourselves, lol. First high-end purchase for a pc build and it's been well worth the wait.
The reasoning for pairing an Athlon II X3 with this build was because triple cores run cooler and in real world applications, NOT having the L3 cache wouldn't matter. It's all about speed, and having a 435 @ 3.6 X3 under 40c degrees @ 100% load stable over several hours on air has to be pretty good.
What do you have to say GaMEChld? Think I did my homework?? Please, research thoroughly through and through, yuorself, like I've done over the years before making someone else's personal build sound like a lofty impulsive decision.
Take care and we who own the card along with the mentioned cpu are offended with the matter of your unfounded statement...

Pros: I just wanna say that if you are lucky enough to get this card , I can't imagine being unsatisfied with it's performance. I was very persistent in my search for one and finally got the XFX black edition 5970 from another online retailer( sorry newegg I love you guys, but you haven't had one in stock for like ever and I have an itchy finger when I have the money to purchase such a high dollar item. Can't hold on to $719.99 for long ). Anyway I'm not going to rant, fastest card on the planet hands down. If you read all the reviews online, they're not all hype. This card is a BEAST, especially with the newest drivers. Oh and do make sure your case is big enough to hold it. I have a Thermaltake Spedo Advance and I have a little room to spare.

Other Thoughts: None!
