5 out of 5 eggsStill screaming along

Pros: After more than a years use it is still flying through everything I ask of it. I originally reviewed this card on 8/11/2011 at 12:52:08 PM and It still preforms flawlessly. As a video card it is superb. With 1600 parallel processing streams and a proprietary analytical software package that utilizes the GPUs processing power, statistical "what if" tasks run up to 15 times faster.

Cons: absolutely none!

Other Thoughts: If I could find one of these new I would still considering buying it even with all of the new cards out there. It works perfectly for what I need it to do.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat card when working

Pros: Good performance. Skyrim max settings no issues.

Cons: This card, along with my other previous 3 ATI cards, have all died within 1-2 years. Bearings in the fan going out, and before my system started crashing, I could just tap the fan with a Q-tip and the noise would stop. Within the past 2 days my sstem has crashed 6 times. Replacement nVidia video card in, no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsEXCELLENCE

Pros: 6 Display ports, Updated Catalyst is reliable and efficient. No issues. DUMPS HEAT OUTSIDE THE CASE!!! I Absolutely LOVE this feature! I run my games at full 1920x1080 resolution and have NO PROBLEMS even on highest settings.

Cons: No *REAL* cons. Older 5800 series. At full load it exhausts A LOT of heat out the back, I think i could cook a hotdog on a stick, but this is kind-of a Pro, the heat is dumped OUTSIDE my case, so not REALLY a Con

Other Thoughts: I have an Phenom II x2 555BE unlocked to quad-core running at 3.6Ghz with a Corsair H50 sealed liquid cooling solution and 8GB of G.Skill 1600Mhz RAM on an ASUS MB 890GX chipset. All powered by a Corsair 750W PSU. This system runs COOL. Primary sources of heat (CPU/GPU) dump OUTSIDE the case which keeps internal case temps around ambience. I love this system and i have NEVER had a problem from anything here.

3 out of 5 eggsNice card

Pros: this is a greate card for running 3 displays.
still working minus the broken cooling fan

Cons: the bearings in the cooling fan broke after 6 monthes of owning.. verry verry loud card. saphire isnt being verry helpfull

Other Thoughts: was a tight fit in a standard case.

will replace broken fan with aftermarket cooling kit vs trying to hastel with saphire anymore. cheaper solution plus extra cooling

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I love this card, it does anything I try without the least trouble. I'm using it more as a workstation system than as a gamer. Heavy number crunching, and astronomical image processing, with the occaisonal video presentation prep. No problems whatsoever with install and operation, under high load it still hasn't exceeded 70 degrees C with the case it sits in. I got this at the end of February for $199 as a Shell Shocker, what a deal!

Cons: None, except I haven't come close to maxing it out yet. Nice problem to have.

Other Thoughts: This is its home.

5 out of 5 eggslove this card

Pros: Great card, I've played BF2, Sims 3, BF3 (alpha testing), and several other games with no issues.

Cons: This card is huge! Due to the configuration of my motherboard, I had to put it in the 2nd PCI-X slot because the sata ports were in the way for the card to fit in the 1st slot.
More software than hardware complaint but it's a pain switching back and forth between 1 big desktop spread over my 3 monitors and going back. No easy toggle mode for it.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have the space for this card to fit properly. Also make sure if you want more than 2 screens, you get a display port cable. If you use 2 DVI, the 3rd has to be Display Port to output to all 3 screens at once.

5 out of 5 eggsGot My Rebate

Pros: Fill out rebate as required. Got the credit card in ~3 months since I elected for the full payment option. No issues whatsoever. Sapphire delivered on what's promised. Great card BTW.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Sapphire should continue making this card. Still great vs. the 6XXX series.

1 out of 5 eggsRebate is a SCAM

Pros: Great card, plays just about all games with max settings.

Cons: Althon rebate process. You're more likely to find the $20 on the ground than get a check in the mail. Never figure a sapphire rebate into the price.

Since my last review, I will add that this card has a high frequency squeal that changes pitch when you push it hard; maybe my case doesn't hide the noise as well with a side vent right next to the card. Hopefully it doesn't quit, we shall see. I'd hate to experience the RMA process after seeing the rebate process. Fan is very loud at 100%, but it never gets close to that during game play.

Other Thoughts: I left a good review on this card earlier but thanks to the rebate process being a complete scam, here's a one egg rating to average with my previous rating. The card is not available anymore so this probably doesn't even matter. At least its on record that Sapphire blows in this regard.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible mail in rebates

Pros: Great product. Read below.

Cons: Horrible service concerning the mail-in rebates. Never got my mail-in rebate, its been almost two months now. And I am very very disappointed because I have always vouched for Sapphire products and service. It might be only 20$ but it's 20$ that were supposed to come back by mail and never came my way.
