SAPPHIRE’s Toxic Edition Series has a well-earned reputation by offering significant advantages in all key areas. The SAPPHIRE HD 6850 TOXIC Edition has the same graphics architecture as the standard model, with 960 stream processors and 48 texture processing units, but the clock speeds are increased to 820MHz for the core (775MHz standard) and 1100Mhz (1000MHz standard) for the memory giving you a considerable boost in performance. In addition, the efficient SAPPHIRE original cooler plus TriXX overclocking tool ensures that there is a good margin for performance tuning (overclocking) by enthusiast users.

1 out of 5 eggsAlready losing money over this

Pros: Pretty Package.

Cons: No Boot, sending for RMA. the cost just went up, coulda got the HD 6870 instead now for the additional cost of shipping back something that doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: I shouldn't have to pay to RMA ship a defective product... I already paid for shipping for a product that works, and didn't get a product that works... how is this my fault or responsibility to cover shipping... Sapphire should be on the hook to RMA ship bad product back, not me.

5 out of 5 eggsI have 2 in Crossfire

Pros: It gets a little warm in the back of the case but let me tell you Crossfire is amazing. card can handel dx11 games in crossfire. example Cyrsis 2 in ultra single card it works but stutters a bit (this is to be expected) in crossfire no problems.

I gave a partial negative review under Painbringer earlier in the year but I have to say I am impressed so far.

Cons: Still high priced.

Other Thoughts: Best bang for your buck for dx11 for price to performance. If you are starting out compair the prices of this Toxic and the 6870 if its only 10-20 bucks diff go bigger but think of the power supply needed too. The toxic card does not dissapoint. If you are crossfiring keep in mind the clock settings if you buy a standard 6850 you will lose that little extra speed (it matches the lowest card)

1 out of 5 eggsBSOD

Pros: It boots up windows nicely

Cons: It has the blue screen of death on it after I installed windows and rolled back/installed/uninstalled drivers. It pretty much goes blue screen of death in 5 minutes. Working on RMA with Sapphire. Here's to hoping I get my money back.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for buck!

Pros: - Great bang for buck (if you're gaming at 1680x1050)
- Rear blowing exhaust means your PC interior doesn't heat up!
- Free Shogun game (at least when I bought it)
- HDMI cable included!
- PCIe 2.1 is backwards compatible with 2.0 (so no worries to people who are confused by this)
- Easy install if you are mid tower to full tower (I have full tower)
- Pretty quiet at full load
- Factory overclocked!
- Low power consumption compared to my old 4870 but better graphics!

Cons: - Power plugs are on one side instead of the card end which means you have to feed power cables across the card (instead of just plugging into the rear)
- Factory overclocked means using Catalyst for "tweaking" will cause issues. DO NOT USE CATALYST! Use the Sapphire software package!

Other Thoughts: This card is on the higher end of the bang-for-buck cards. Was forced to get a new card after my modded 4870 began overheating (my fault entirely). Was going to buy it off Newegg but needed an urgent replacement.

My rez is 1680x1050.

The card runs GTA IV at better settings than my old card, runs World in Conflict at full tilt and see a small bump in FPS during the benchmark test. Shogun runs incredibly smooth at near full settings. Starcraft II hasn't been tested yet but should run as good.

Overall, I'd say if you HAVE to upgrade from a 4870, the 6850 is a good step up without spending the silly dollars. If you have a 4890, stick with it.

1 out of 5 eggsSlowly dieing

Pros: Worked ok for a while

Cons: Performance keeps dropping with every use, runs world of warcraft with lower fps than my 9800 gtx+, when i play games sometimes my graphics card will go haywire by moving half my screen to the right and overlapping to the other side with the edge being in the middle, with one side grainy and lines going across the left or right half

Other Thoughts: It seems that newegg has more issues with their products than other companies, my guess is poor handling of the product in the shipping, hopefully my replacement card will be better

5 out of 5 eggs6850

Pros: Installed and drivers updated in about 10 minutes. Cooling is outstanding, even while gaming fan speed never needs to go past 40%. Allows me to play rift above ultra settings with a solid 60 fps @ 1680 x 1050. Was a birthday gift or FREE! Thanks honey! Keeps me away from my in laws for extended periods of time! 3d support, and what an improvement over my old 3850. Fit nicely in my 690. Rear exhaust For The Win! Oh Factory overclocked.

Cons: None, performs as expected if not better. Unless were talking dishes. I doubted this card prior to installing it, but that's all on the user.

Other Thoughts: Long term low budget gaming pc still kicking!
Gigabyte ma790gpud4h
AMD 7750 BE stock speeds
ZALMAN 9500A-LED 92mm
4 gig 1066 ddr2
500 watt Rosewill performance psu
Cooler master 690 w/ 7 120mm fans. Uber cool case.
500g 32mb cache 7200 rpm main drive
Sapphire toxic 6850
Win 7 premium 64 bit
Still getting solid performance from this build, and thanks to this card I can still hang with the big boys. My CPU needs upgrading bad, but still getting solid performance without over clocking.

Pros: Havn't installed it yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: Fair price considering it will probably out perform the 6890 series. Runs Rift on Ultra settings with room to spare. Never been happier with a video purchase ever and I have been building my own PCs since 02'

Cons: It wont do my dishes, no matter what I try
