1 out of 5 eggsWorst Card I have, damaged my very expensive PL2010M DVI port

Pros: None

Cons: Worst card I have ever had! The CD comes with the card does not work with Windows 7 64 bit of AMD machine; but it misleads you with the name of Windows 7; crashed all the time during installation; finally damaged my very expensive PL2010M DVI port.

This manufactuer should be sued if I have time.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent for Everyday... but

Pros: Bought this card as part of a newegg deal for a whole computer (you buy parts and get a discount). Decent card, no issues installing, computer with windows 7 installed drivers fine initially, and everything worked on powerup the first time.

Cons: So, ok. I'm currently looking to get something new. This card is fine, however I've been playing some of the fairly newer games on the lowest settings and am not happy. I know it's not a high end card but I expected a bit more from some older games too and wasn't too excited.

Also, I was having a video issue playing the stars wars old republic beta and thought it was just a beta issue, however, it ended up being that I needed an update on the video card drivers. Windows update was unable to find it... of course, and it was fairly easy to find online.

Other Thoughts: Building your mom a pc? Ok. Gaming even low end new games, pass. It'll due for now but looking to upgrade.

4 out of 5 eggstest card 2.0

Pros: Great inexpensive card to have around for testing or secondary graphics output. This replaced a 15-year-old Matrox Millenium as my "bench" graphics card. Conveniently has HDMI, DVI, and VGA d-sub outputs. Has no fan, nor PCIe power requirements, so it's a nice drop-in with no additional noise or cords. Actually comes with low-profile brackets included.

Cons: Minus one egg because this thing runs really hot. Like "burns fingers at idle" hot. I would not put this in a slim/HTPC case without adequate ventilation. My case has a fan blowing near it to remove latent heat. Make sure yours does, too, or your primary GPU cooler will be sucking up all that heat.

Other Thoughts: Seems to draw a lot of power from the bus. I had a fan on a motherboard-controlled fan header near the bottom of the board (by the PCIe slots). When I install this card, the fan no longer spins. I'd blame motherboard supply current, but IMO there is no reason why this card needs to bog down the power bus when it'll never saturate the data bus. No one is going to be playing Crysis on this card. Would like to see Sapphire tune-down the clock speed and/or voltage to this GPU. I may do so myself with vga bios editors.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: *Price, Price, Price
*Better then onboard GPU
*works well with XP pro in office rigs

Cons: Issues with Nvidia mother board chipset not playing well with ATI GPU. At first could not install HD sound drivers since ther was onboard sound. Even if I unistalled onboard system sound drivers. Got so tired of it, that I just settled on using the 3mm audio on the monitor and PC, instead of having the sound pass though the HDMI. Office PC, no external speakers are allowed.

Other Thoughts: Just for giggles I installed this on onther PC that was not a Nvidia chipset. It had Realtek onboard drivers and I had zero issues with install and getting the HDMI sound to work. Yes, I know that Nvidia chipset can have realtek onboard as well, but this stupid Compac box store bought PC did not.

5 out of 5 eggsStar Sapphire shines bright

Pros: Inexpensive. After rebate, 25 bucks and free shipping. Runs quite cool, 42 - 52 degrees. Easy install. Win7 pro x64 recognized it imediately as win7 compatability said it would. Easy driver download update from AMD website.

Cons: Lotsa hoops to get the rebate, but I will do anything to save money.

Other Thoughts: I did not need a super gamming card. Mostly for music composition graphics and business graphics. It is rated 6.7out of 7.9 by win7 experience. Using AMD overdrive, per AMD specs, I set the core at 650 and the mem to 800. Could have gone higher per sapphire specs but that was all I needed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Great card for the money, plain and simple. I've been able to run every game at med-high settings with a decent frame rate. (Deus Ex: HR, Just cause 2, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Dirt3, Hard Reset, Warhammer 40k Space Marine).

You can't go wrong with this card for only 35.99, definitely a great choice for a budget gaming rig.

Cons: I've noticed the card does get quite hot while gaming for more than 2-3 hours. I've had to take off my side panel and blow a desk fan in there to keep it cool if I'm going to be playing for a while.

Other Thoughts: Buy it!

5 out of 5 eggsVery good HTPC option

Pros: I bought this card from a local brick and mortar competitor for $59 and was disappointed at the time which quickly turned to the biggest WIN ever once I set it up in MythTV system. I keep seeing post where ppl are buying these big high dollar cards for HTPC use and I would put this card up against any of them. All I am saying is if you need a Low Profile/HDMI/DVI/QUIET/FANLESS HTPC option then congrats you just found it! You can pocket the cash saved or better, spend on additional storage.

Cons: Nothing negative to say about it. Only wish sellers would seriously drop the rebate scams :o(

Other Thoughts: I would NOT recommend this card for general PC use and do not even think of using this card for any kind of gamimg use (other than astroids) since after all it is fanless and will likely overheat and crash on heavy load!

3 out of 5 eggsit works

Pros: i bought it for a game i play and i went from integrated graphics card to this and its a big difference i can play my game on max so im more then satisfied.

Cons: id like for a 1gb card not a 512 but what are you ganna do,and hopefully the mail in rebate will work, and also id rather like a heatsink on it but oh well

Other Thoughts: its fair for the price the video card i was going to buy was 90 bucks so this is much cheaper and it makes me happy

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cheap card

Pros: Been using this thing for almost a year with no problems.
It's cheap, small, silent, and doesn't get above 56C at sustained full load.

Cons: Wish it has a small fan.

Other Thoughts: Mounted a scavenged fan to it and dropped the temp by 5C.

2 out of 5 eggsRuns hot, crashes a lot

Pros: Lives up to specs

Cons: * Runs ridiculously hot - got to over 100 degrees C causing the computer to shut down. BIOS would not allow a system restart for over an hour until the card cooled down. Regularly runs at 75-95 degrees C.
* Drivers crash an average of once a day. They usually restart themselves but the system has to be warm rebooted about every fifth crash. I update the drivers every other release, but this has been going on for seven months, and new drivers have made no difference. Bad drivers or bad card? Doesn't matter to me, card just doesn't work right.

Other Thoughts: Computer is used only for business apps and web browsing. Case has adequate cooling - CPU (Core 2 Duo E4300) never got over 55 degrees C before adding a fan. Had to add a case fan just to cool this card. It is rather pointless having a fan-less video card if you have to add a case fan.
