2 out of 5 eggsCould be better

Pros: This card is a BEAST when used with the right games.

Cons: I am used to alot of fan noise but this thing is seriously too loud. To keep temps under 80c the fan is insanely loud. Some games like left4dead 2, lost planet and cs go run almost too good and their fps is OFF the chart! But then you get to other newer games that totally lose crossfire support. I mean you will play some games like saints row the third and your fps will spike down and up and just makes some games unplayable with all versions of the drivers. Its the back and forth problem ati has had for years and this time its gone too far. I picked this card up for more than I should have and sold it for a measly 400 bucks. I then picked up the gtx 680 galaxy 4gb as I am running a 2560x1440 monitor and am planning on future proofing. Also, I have amazing cooling in my case so the temps aren't my fault. I even put on arctic silver 5. So in short, this card was a HUGE disappointment to me and really deters me from the performance of the whole amd/ati sector. And YES I AM an ati fan boy. But you cant compete with nvidias drivers, they just work like they should on all games. I mean, even with Dota2 I would get random artifacts and glitches yet furmark ran perfect. Its a give and take, if you can afford to liquid cool it and live with some games not working well its WELL worth it. If you want slightly less fps but full compatibility go with a gtx 680.

4 out of 5 eggsSapphire 6990 ref

Pros: First off, replaced 2x sapphire 6950 ref cards with this 6990 ref...at first i was a little nervous...picked it up on e*b*a*y for 550$ plugged it in, ran some benchmarks and bam...nothing but artifacts...was coming to the conclusion i was gonna have to RMA it...then i tried messing around with the clocks...put the core @ 925 and memory @ 1355....all the artifacting is gone and the card runs great

Cons: i've heard people say video cards are loud...i've baught "loud" video cards before...but i've never heard a card like this thing...it sounds like its about to take flight...and the card runs hot as hell...put 2 and 2 together, and under my computer desk...i have my PC that also functions as a space heater hence the 4/5 stars, not happy at all with the heat, ran some furmark benchmarks and seen it get up to 91*C after about 5 minutes of benchmarking, it doesnt dissipate heat well either, i turned a game off 20 minutes ago...turned fan up to 100% to cool the card down...got it down to 50*C...turned fan back down to auto (35%)....20 minutes later its 61*C while i'm writing this review....

3dmark vantage with CF 6950's @ stock scored 31-33k
3dmark vantage with 6990 @ 925/1355 scored 35-37k

4 out of 5 eggssapphire 6990

Pros: Its a beautiful looking card. It can get a little loud, but not as loud as 3-15,000 rpm hard drives get. Seems to run nice, but the WEI score is lower than the 6870 I had, and lower than the 6970.
The tech at Sapphire can't give me a lot of help right now as he can't know all my whole system configuration, but says that it should rate higher than the lower cards.
It does have very nice screen colors and seems to be fine. But I do know that your motherboard better be up to it, which a tech at Sapphire got wrong. I asked before I got the card if it would work, and his quick easy response was that if the 6870 card worked, then he saw no reason why the 6990 wouldn't work.
Well the motherboard did not have enough capacitors or something to fire it up past boot. And the motherboard I had was new. So if you are experiencing freezes, etc. with a new higher end card, maybe look into the motherboard or power supply as a start before dogging the video card maker.

Cons: It runs pretty hot under load, you could probably scramble eggs on it, and you will hear it...sometimes.
Maybe tech at Sapphire should have been more trained, or maybe I should have been. I am still learning.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. I am growing to love Newegg.
I am only giving 4 eggs cuz I am not sure just yet if it is a 5 egg product just yet, it may very well be a 5 egg.
I know battlefied3 is fun with it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs everything beautifully, is fast, and has great card control through the Cataclysm Control Center.

Cons: A bit big, had to make some extra room in my original case, but got a new one now and wasnt' any problem.

Other Thoughts: Some might say it's loud, but honestly, I don't ever notic it unless I crank up the fan on it to 80% or more. Even then, I play with surround sound headphones, so I never even notice it.

1 out of 5 eggsDONT BUY

Pros: Speed thats basically all, which doesn't say much when the card is $700. DON'T BUY ITTT

Cons: She is fast, gets the job done. However way to loud, drivers weren't that good at all. This card kept crashing, the catalyst dose not open, and causes my computer to crash every time i try to open it.

5 out of 5 eggsNo need to mention how great it is u already know but be warned

Pros: Best GPU 2011 (goes neck to neck with GTX 590 but beats 590 in more benchmarks and has more memory)

Cons: Maybe price.

Other Thoughts: This is what i really want to point out. Buyers if u do not own a good mid range case or full tower case then u might consider it. If that is a problem then do not upgrade.
This card is the longest of them all it is exactly 12 inches = 1 foot

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID SAPPHIRE CARDS!!!!

Pros: n/a --- read below

Cons: Well i am sure this card is great..... but Sapphire is just a terrible company all around.... this isnt the first card ive bought from them.... i had got a 3870 sapphire when they were released and i had to RMA twice just to get a card that functioned... this card is no different... like i said it seems like it would be a good card I am RMA ing this card and getting the gigabyte one, i have a gigabyte 4890 OC and it is wonderful, have not had one problem since ive got it. This isnt neweggs fault...its sapphires

Other Thoughts: Sapphire's RMA team is bad

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Very fast card with directx 11. Replaced a crossfire setup with two 4890s that lasted me a couple years. This card should last at least as long. I plan to upgrade my motherboard and power supply next year but for now I'm still a happy camper.

Cons: None. Size might be an issue but I was able to fit it into my antec 900 case with a little finesse.

Other Thoughts: Antec 900
Corsair tw 750 psu
Msi GD-70 790fx
AMD 1090t
2 raptors RAID 0
