5 out of 5 eggsnice card

Pros: Low power useage. Allow use of latest catalyst driver in kubuntu.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: AMD decided not to update it's linux drivers for the seris 4000 and under chipsets.
As a result, the latest updates and upgrade have to use the open source ati driver. It's fine for the desktop but I enjoy playing a few games such as Silent Hunter 3 and Blitzkriege using wine. Unfortunately the open source ati driver works only to a limited extent for these games. So I opted for a low end 6450 card, installed the proprietary drivers and was able to run the games fully again.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Windows 7 support for openGL vs my old X1600XT. Less than $33.00, HDMI out. Low power draw.

Cons: Slower overall than my seven yr old X1600 card.

Other Thoughts: The 64 bit interface makes this card 1990s slow. 64bit reminds me of my old S3 ViRGE from 1997; well, it was only 33 bucks and has DVI and HDMI.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I used this to upgrade my old radeon 3870 and i will say the upgrade was totally worth it! I can play all of my games (im not a huge gamer but like to play sometimes) at playable frame rates when my old card didnt even stay alive at the title.

Cons: i will say it temds to get hot when overclocked and playing a big game does warm up my room quite abit but i just open a window and im fine :)

3 out of 5 eggsNice item; shady tactics

Pros: Quiet card, runs smoothly and efficiently, Nice upgrade from my dead Radeon X1650 pro that did its job for over 5 years. I recommend this solution for builders with basic, low-budget needs. Blu-ray performance greatly improved. Bonus: HDMI slot. 5 eggs here.

Cons: Questionable newegg and sapphire business practices. video card was sent in a brown, non-retail box w/o the UPC barcode required for the rebate. I believe this is done on purpose. Neither side wants to take responsibility so I have to eat it through RMA? Probably means paying for shipping while my desktop remains out of commission throughout the process? 1 egg here.

Other Thoughts: Popped card in, posted immediately. Runs great on Antec Earthwatts 380. Other key components: M2N32-SLI Deluxe, DVD-ROM drive, DVD-RW burner, BD-XL burner, BE-2300 CPU, 2 GB DDR2 RAM, Raptor 36GB, one PCI GPU fan cooler, P-180 case, BENQ full HD monitor with HDMI.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat if all you do is......

Pros: Good for everything any person does with a desktop as long as the most they ever do is watch videos. Better then onboard no doubt, priced right since the A10 and A8 came out and kicked it's behind. I hook this rig to my 1080p tv. It contains older parts laying around. AMD 720 cpu, kingston 1600 ram 2x4gigs,win7 64bit, foxconn am3 micro mobo, antec psu, seagate hdd and some kind of cd/dvd thing. The case? Forget about it! It's a case.....cheap. SAPPHIRE ROCKS!!

Cons: Not for use with any new build. The A10 and A8 or any other FM2 cpu would be a better choice over this and a cpu. It gets way to warm for me just watching videos. I don't like my gpu's to go over 60c, so I stuck a side fan on the case to keep temps under 60c.

Other Thoughts: Good enough upgrade for onboard vid. Plan on getting a fan to blow on this unless you like 70c gpu's during a chick flick or whatever. I connect this via hdmi, not DVI, which like another reviewer stated.....is not made for the adapters, just those cables that have to be bought seperatly.....The one with the dash pin and not the dash pin with the four lil itty bitty pins around it. After all, it's only 64bit. Gots to go 128bit for all the bells and whistles. I USE SAPPHIRE IN MY GAMING RIGS TOO!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for a budget build

Pros: Works well with linux (see other thoughts). Very cheap after the rebate (which did process and should be here in 8-10 weeks) Fanless, so it won't make a lot of noise in a mythTV or HDCP setup. I have it installed in a midtower case, but with the low-profile brackets included, could easily fit in a micro/ITX case.

Cons: This is a lower end card and not very fast for gaming, It does lag a bit on games like Alien Arena. This isn't too big a deal for me, I bought this card for a mythTV setup and should work fine in that role.

Other Thoughts: This card didn't like the open source x-org ATI drivers for linux. So I loaded the proprietary drivers through rpmfusion and they work great. I am slightly concerned about the fanless design. I have had other cards that are fanless, and the didn't last long. I will put a few extra case fans in the system hope for the best.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card Great Price

Pros: Good price and good performance for auto settings on call of duty. Just bought for low performance gaming for co op on zombies, but actully has great performance with an E5200 Dual core and 4GB of DDR2 which i was surprised.

Cons: None yet. Will Keep posted

1 out of 5 eggsDead In 45 Days

Pros: Worked good for 45 days

Cons: Had it set up for HTPC. Incompatible with my Denon AVR1613. Had to power cycle PC every time in order for the sound to work(come to find out this is a known handshake issue. Reinstalled old graphics card, no problems. Installed The Radeon 6450 into kids PC, worked fine for a while, then died. I've been a AMD guy forever, sorry to say I am making the switch.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good for HTPC

Pros: Silent. HDMI with audio out. Fits in small form factor pc. Replaced a MSI N210 in my HTPC. Better picture quality using my Acer K130 projector. Raised by Windows Score by almost a full point. So far so good.

Cons: None so far. We'll see how the rebate goes.

Other Thoughts: To be honest for my set up the hd 5450 would have probably worked just as well for half the price, but $30 for this card won't be bad if I get the rebate.
