5 out of 5 eggsGreat card, Lots of features

Pros: I bought this card locally from a guy who had not even installed it. In fact, I bought a pair of them from him for $120, sold the used one for $120 on an auction site and kept the new one. Wow, what a card for the money. Once you get the current ATI drivers, this card works well with anything thrown at it. I am running an AMD 955 black, MSI 970a MOBO, 8 gb RAM and this card runs everything. It runs warm, true, but not enough to stop it from working. I've had it for a year now and have had no issues whatsoever. It runs skyrim on Ultra settings with the HD pack, Diablo 3 on Ultra and WOW on ultra. If you can scoop one up, do it.

Cons: The card is excellent, but ATI has a history of driver issues and this one is no exception. You MUST get the most current drivers or the BSOD will appear.

Other Thoughts: Nothing better for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsCrazy Card

Pros: Idles around 36C, load of 62C overclocked to 1012 mhz core stock voltage. Memory went to 1235, runs cool and stable with stock cooling solution. Excellent overclock over over 25% core and 20% memory!

Cons: Don't sell em anymore.

Other Thoughts: Bought used online, very cheap now and very competitive still with cards like the 6850.

1 out of 5 eggsBob

Pros: When it wasn't bracking my machine it was fast everything worked faster.

Cons: Blue Screen
Current Sys.
Win7 64B Ultimate, 64B MB, 6-Core 3.5GH CPU, 16G Mem. and the latest in Hi-Tech video card Sapphire's Extreme 100297L Radeon HD 5830.
The problem stated right at the gate with in the first hour of power I got my first Blue-Screen rebooted and started again, seem to be OK, 16 hours later and the next day another Blue-Screen, Contacted MS thinking it was software and after two weeks MS was at a lost of what it was. During that two weeks I had another 3 Blue-Screen and the last one being so bad I lost the boot sector to the hard drive and had to reload MS, Two of the 5 times the Blue-Screen occurred I was in this power hunger video game called Blazing Angles so I deleted this guy thinking this must be it. But again a week later play this game I have played for years Diablo Ext. Ed. "BLUE SCREEN" there is no way this game could have cause this .

Other Thoughts: During one of the Blue-Screen error log, which all were sent to MS, it listed one of the errors as being a PCI Parity error, I had only one PCI in the whole computer Sapphire's 100297L Radeon HD 5830. After removing the Sapphire it's now been two weeks and no BLUE SCREEN,

3 out of 5 eggsBitcoin Mining

Pros: This card is one of the best cards for bitcoin mining. With a little work will do 330 mhash.

Cons: 330 mhash requires 1035 gpu clock speed. Card is extremely unstable at that speed and you can only do that with a dedicated rig. I could not get stable results in fur mark over about 950 gpu.

Other Thoughts: Similar results with both cards so its not a bad card. One did require an slight overvolt to get to 1035. I can't really tell you how good this card is for gaming as it seems my cpu is a bottleneck (2.5ghz AMD x2)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price/Performance

Pros: Cheap, Runs full specs

Cons: Far Cry 2 doesn't work, not sure if it's the GPU.

Other Thoughts: Used in custom build. Runs Oblivion perfectly on all highest specs at 1920x1080 hi-def with an AMD Phenom 2 X4 955. For some reason Far Cry 2 (Steam) won't work with this build. Might be GPU, OS (Win7), or something else. I believe it has something to due with the ATI software that is installed with the drivers, but even after uninstalling the software no luck. In the end Win7 doesn't support the game anyway. That was the only problem, and it doesn't denote an egg in my mind. Comparable to Nvidia GT 260 but with more memory.

1 out of 5 eggsturn pitch black in 2 months

Pros: This card runs great when it works.

Cons: Screen turns pitch black after 2 months using. It keeps turning pitch black after 30 minutes used. I have to unplug the DVI cable and Plug it in again for it to work.
Even change to new monitor. Problem still exist.

Other Thoughts: It's an overall good card if it works. Sapphire ATI card should last long than this. Been using Sapphire ever since, but now disappointed.

Still Waiting for RMA.

2 out of 5 eggsHD 5830 xtreme Sapphire

Pros: This card is great if it works.

Cons: I've owned this cards about 2 months. First 2 months it works pretty good, but then now the screen turn black after using for 30 minutes. However the audio is till working while it's pitch black.
I even changed my monitor (thought it was my monitor's fault); it turned out the same. it's still turning pitch black (audio still work while pitch black).
Could I RMA this for a replacement? It's been 2 months already. Thanks.

5 out of 5 eggsLudicrously Awesome

Pros: + Price
+ Mad Powerful
+ Sapphire quality
+ Rocky Balboa of video cards, takes massive beatings but keeps on chewing through games
+ Crossfire scaling is excellent
+ Its awesomeness requires the suspension of disbelief, otherwise you'll go mad

Cons: - Can get hot, but that's a side effect of mad awesomeness

Other Thoughts: Despite my rather over enthusiastic description of this card, it truly is one of the best graphics cards out there. Definitely THE most powerful card under $150 new. Heck, I got my first one for $99 (Thank you NewEgg!). It performs just a tick behind a 6850.

I have two of these (one of them is the other version, with the mini-DP port) in X-Fire in an AMD X4 955BE rig, MSI 890FXA-GD65 (the Rocky of motherboards). They easily perform better on benchmarks than my Sapphire 6950 2GB Dirt3 (another amazing Sapphire product btw).

Rips through any of the primary games I play (BFBC2, Dirt2 and 3) at max settings @ 19x12.

Toughness? I can't count how many times I crashed these messing around with overclocks (very tricky in X-fire), but they still kick it like they were brand new. Got them to 900core and 1200mem stable with Trixx.

This little powerhouse is probably my favorite piece of tech in my PCs. Buy one NOW...if it's ever in stock :-(
