2 out of 5 eggsgood performance but blue screens too often

Pros: good performance

Cons: blue screens

Other Thoughts: About a year ago I was anxiously awaiting the Radeon HD 7800 series to be released to replace my 4770. I bought this card almost immediately when it became available on Newegg. From the day I got it, I have had issues with occasional blue screens. I don't know if I have a bad card or if the drivers are just bad, but I'm leaning towards drivers. Driver revisions over the months have made some games more stable and other less stable. My computer is stable when I'm not playing a game, and a few games work without issues. But most games blue screen once per ~3-6 hours of gameplay. The error is usually with a component related to DirectX.

I didn't do anything for the longest time because I kept telling myself "this will be fixed in the next driver release." I have run diagnostics and stress tests on my system and they all pass. I'm afraid that the card probably works well enough and it's been long enough since I bought it that I won't be able to get a warranty replacement. But it definitely doesn't work well enough for me to be happy with it.

4 out of 5 eggsLittle bit of a bottlekneck

Pros: It runs most (most) games without a hitch. It stays cool at all times.

Cons: There seems to be a little bit of a bottleneck. The processor isn't quite fast enough to make full use of the 2GB of memory.

Other Thoughts: It won't run everything maxed on Assassin's creed 3 :(

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth buying, glad it was discontinued.

Pros: Quick install

Cons: Cannot run DirectX 10 or higher, and even at times haves trouble running DX 9, I'm only running one monitor off of it and it barely works for great graphics, not worth the buy at all if you want great graphics.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Card, Bad Drivers

Pros: Really nice looking graphics card and runs smoothly at a low temperature.

Cons: Some issues with it was randomly my screen would go black and white lines running vertically or just a grey screen. I looked around the internet and it seemed it wasn't me either. Several threads on sites like Tom's Hardware also were about the same topic.

Other Thoughts: It turned out it was the Driver's fault. I downloaded the newest Beta Catalyst Driver and since then it's been working perfectly fine and satisfying me. It's a great card I guess I just didn't have a nice first week with it.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry that you have had initial problems with your card.

We do recommend that all users use the latest drivers available from the AMD website to reduce the chance of any software issues.

5 out of 5 eggsStable and Fast

Pros: This card has efficient dual fans, while maintaining a smaller footprint. The card fits nicely in my DELL OptiPlex 990 mini tower case which has been modifed with a 600 w Cooler Master PSU. Even though the card is factory OC, I have been able to OC even more and have had extremely stable gameplay. Runs Crysis 2 and BF with a constant 50-60 fps with a mix of high and ultra settings. I have been happier with this card than I was with a 7870, which cost more money and came with way more headaches.

Cons: The card has some dips into the 40 FPS range if I play with all settings maxed out on Crysis 2 (1920x0180). I like to use Crysis 2 as a benchmark because it leverages many direct x 11 features. I have to back the object model setting back from ULTRA to EXTREME to stay over 50 FPS constant.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Graphics Card

Pros: Excellent quality for a good price. Sapphire usually has good graphics cards and have been reliable for me in the past. This card is fast with the PCI express 3.0 and offers a good amount of memory with 2GB. I recommend this card for gamers if you want to run the graphics at top quality.

Cons: I have not encountered any cons so far with this card
