5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs eveyrything I've thrown at it from Crysis to Bioshock on high settings.

Cons: Tends to get pretty hot.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a modestly priced card for gaming, you can't go wrong with this card. Also a decent investment if you plan on upgrading in the future, just buy another one and set up crossfire.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: Awesome card for the price, can't find a better bang for your buck! Runs WoW on fullest quality at 60FPS constant; and that is what I bought it for. Runs all other games just as smoothly. Does run hot, but can be fixed if seeing those temperatures bugs you, read other reviews to find out how. Haven't had any problems yet; just plugged in, installed drivers, and went. Worked perfect for my new machine.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Buy it!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Start To A Crossfire Setup

Pros: As everybody else says, this gives outstanding performance for the price range. Personally I would consider this as ONE of the high end cards for the few months to come. This also runs well on alot of game from High to Max settings. Also my personal card I can overclock to 675mhz core and 1100mhz [2200effective] memoy core with 0 instabilities. So if you dont want to break $250+ for a new card anytime soon, definately consider this card, for the perfomance in single card mode is outstanding [See other thoughts for comments on crossfire]

Cons: Like all cards with cheap Fans, this WILL run extremely hot [80c-95c]. And it is IMPOSSIBLE to run this card at a high load and get 40c-50c temps on a low fan setting. People that say they get that are LIARS, and chances are they are probably just looking at the temps while sitting on the desktop screen, as opposed to checking the true temp output while playing a game in windowed mode. You can lower the temps a little bit if you run the fan at 100% but it will be extremely loud. So I really advise you get a 3rd party VGA cooler [I have the ZalmanVF900]. As far as performance flaws......the only weakness I experienced with this card so was just processing too many shadows and water effects......especially if there is alot of water involved [such as Crysis and Red Alert 3 that has tons of water and shadows to process]. As for Anti-aliasing levels that vary's with different factors.......so just experiment with yours.

Other Thoughts: Probably the question alot of shoppers considering this card will be asking....... "Well how does it perform in crossfire mode?" My honest answer is.........if the game supports crossfire [and 80% of games developed in late 2007 do], then you will have true graphical bliss. The few weaknesses I encountered was while I ran it as a single card. But after recently purchasing a second HD4850 [both are this exact model] those weaknesses IMMEDIATELY went away. Now I can run everything maxed out AND I can still overclock to my 670mhz/1100mhz[2200mhz effective] setting, and not have a single slowdown issue. The catch with these in crossfire they will run even hotter, so make sure u get that fan. My only disappointment was that the idiots at crytek didnt do well on multi-card support for crysis, so you have run it in window mode at the moment. But everything else I tried, I ran with zero slowdown. so One HD4850 is good,t wo HD4850's are good-er!!!

5 out of 5 eggsprice=performance

Pros: its price vs performance ratio is a masive pro. it over clocks great aswell(700,1115)(46c idle-63c load-fan set at 55%)....also since the 8.10 cc we now have a option to tweak the fan any way we want...

Cons: none. one of the best cards ive ever had.

Other Thoughts: 2 of these is trully awsome....and nce the price comes down aswell many more folks will be snagging them up.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing card!

Pros: This card is AMAZING for the price. I use it in my spare computer with an E8500 @ 4.2GHZ, and I can tell you that this card chews through any game you throw at it.

I would HIGHLY recommend this card, AND newegg with their epic shipping.

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: Newegg shipped the card on a friday, I got it on monday morning even thoug I paid for the slowest shipping (5 days)

5 out of 5 eggsWorth it's weight in gold!

Pros: This is truly the best card for it's price. I absolutely love everything about this card; it's beautiful, quiet, takes up one slot, not power hungry, and the performance is outstanding. The card is easily overclocked to 700mhz and 1100mhz core/mem. the card is designed to take high temperatures, and will perform well even around 100c.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The sticker can easily be removed to expose the original ATi heatsink cover, which look a lot nicer in my opinion. Also the fan speed can be easily adjust if you believe the card is running too hot. This involves tweaking an XML file used for a CCC profile, search Google for "4850 fan speed fix" and you should find some useful links.

4 out of 5 eggsATI 4850 By Diamond

Pros: No matter what anyone else says this is the best bang for the buck of any card...maybe ever?
Maxes out every game ive ever played at 1280x1024 with all the filters turned up. im pretty sure it does more than that for sure but thats my monitors max. i got it for 160 after rebate.
insanely good deal. and theyre bound to drop in price for a second in crossfire. yay. im running a 415 watt psu! and it works! so extremely low power usage.

Cons: the one con i do have that keeps in from 5 eggs is it gets insanely hot...i know they run hot but 78 degrees c at idle on vista 64? thats just stupid. they gotta theyre act together with the drivers and or a heatsink/fan there. NOthing a quick google didnt fix tho.

Other Thoughts: not if but when you buy it google the fix for the temps. set somewhere betweet 50 and 60 % speed.
anything higher is just too loud. even still it idles at 50. if your gonna overclock get a good cooler or water block. oh and if you have a budget mobo...i do seein as i did a budget gamer....most likely its not laid out too well.... its not as long as the nvidias but might still cover a sata port
: S. but i didnt need it anyways.

5 out of 5 eggsOne hot deal!

Pros: This card is great! Runs anything I throw at it full settings!(Havent tried crysis yet but I will soon)I cant really sompare it to much because this is the first card Ive bought for myself, but dang is it powerful!IMO for how much it costs, youre not gonna get much more bang for your buck.

Cons: Not gonna lie, it runs really really hot.On Idle it runs hotter than any other card Ive ever used, even in the heat of gaming. You should prolly look into an aftermarket cooling fan for it...

Other Thoughts: Didn't come with that dumb spider decal on the preview pictures!Hooray!

5 out of 5 eggsBUY IT NOW ITS SUPER FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Runs Grid, COD4, Dirt, HALO 2, BF2142, and everything else I throw at it at top speed. I've been with ATI since 1996 and have never left them since.

Cons: No fan control in the drivers. Do a google search for the fix. At 70% fan speed it idles down to aroun 58c instead of 80c and you can barely hear it. Not really a con for those of us that dont mind tweaking.

Other Thoughts: I only writed reviews on products I own for atleast a couple months or when I know its good and trust me this is good. Not a single hiccup with this card. Buy it and you will be happy!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsPower + Value = Win

Pros: This card is awesome. I too am easily pushing it to 700/1100 with flawless performance. It is outperforming my 8800GTS, and somehow the shadows in Mass Effect look way better on this card. I tweaked the config in my profile to set my fan speed biorhythm to 50% wich keeps the temps at ~45 - WAY cooler than my 8800GTS with 100% fan. It worked in Linux63/32, WinXP32, and Win Vista 64bit the day I got it.

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: I recommend this card 100%.
