5 out of 5 eggsGreat Color

Pros: Not much to say that hasn't already been said, but I was very surprised at the color improvement over the nVidia it replaced!

Quiet. I can't hear it at all.

Temps are at 48C

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I didn't get this from NE. It was a gift and I installed it expecting only a speed improvement in games and it did not let me down. This is a very fast card. Cuts through L4D on high like butter.

What was more interesting than the speed was the color. I have a Samsung 2232BW and the color has never been exactly right. I know it's got a TN panel but no amount of tweaking ever produced the right color tone.

Immediately after installing this 4850 and current drivers the color was noticeably improved over the 7600GT it replaced. I'm happy with the gaming but getting improved color was even better.

Specs: ASUS M2NE, 5600-X2, 8 gigs RAM, Vista 64 of course, 3 hard drives, 2 opticals, SB-X-Fi, this card, Corsair 550VX.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: fired up when i turned system on. No issues as of yet. I didnt know what I was missing playing online games till I used this card. I plan on doing a crossfire system so will do an update to this after I get the second card installed and fire it up.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This was my first pc build and it was easy. I did alot of research and a friend picked this card for me based on the motherboard I went with.

5 out of 5 eggsGood and cool card

Pros: Runs, cool, OC's easily with CCC 8.11. Put it in a system with an X2 7750 that had 2 HD 4670's in XFire and did not have to change the drivers. Using the ATI drivers and CCC downloaded from AMD/ATI site. Just had to go into CCC to activate the card when I frist booted up. The 2 HD 4670's are going back in and this card and another HD 4850 will go into a new system with the X3 720.

Cons: None. People having problems are those trying to use only 300W PSU's and other low powered PSU's with low Watts and Amps. Those having problems with good and powerful CPU's probably have not removed old video card drivers and programs completely. This card fired right up for me using standard ATI 8.11 drivers for HD 4670 cards (4000 series cards' driver package is all the same). Good cooling in a case is also a necessity.

Other Thoughts: Didn't buy this card from NewEgg although I do buy a lot of products from the Egg, and I got the card off Fleabay. However, all products I have bought from the Egg have worked fine and the prices are good. Have an Egg for easter.

5 out of 5 eggsPlays all at MAX

Pros: Far Cry 2: 1920X1080 with all MAX gets me about 20 FPS. No issues at all with this card. I use Catalyst 9.2 and just play away. I came from an AIW x1800xl and did not expect much, but now I don't have to play Crysis on medium with 2X AA. I have 6x120MM fans on my case so no point in giving you temp readings. I DO have a 32" HDMI flat screen and do not notice ANY difference in quality (that was one reason for getting this), but then again, I think that the x1800xl is HD as well.......I have no regrets at all with this card except:

Cons: Drop the price cause the whole point in going a little below the beefy cards is to go crossfire (at least for me)

Other Thoughts: DX9, XP SP3, 4gb RAM (800 OC'd to 1Ghz), PHENOM II 940 OC'd to 3.5 Ghz - 14X250, DFI 790FXB-M2RSH, Page & TEMP folder on seperate drive.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Shyz Of the Biz

Pros: 625MHz Core Clock
800 Stream Processing Units (625MHz Per SPU)
512MB Memory
1986HMz Effective
256-bit Output

Not, this card was reviewed Vs other cards. This card IN CROSSFIRE out preforms the 4850x2 and ties performance of 4870. The 4870x2 destroys all both solo and crossfire.

If your looking for a budget card that will play newer games this is the choice to pick on. Single slot means you don't waste other slots on your motherboard while keeping performance at its peak condition.

Cons: I wont own it until I get my tax refund :(
Not a 4850x2
Not a 4870
Not a 4870x2

Other Thoughts: NOTE: I said fastest SINGLE SLOT cooling card, yes I understand there are FASTER cards out, but they are sold as dual slot cards.

I currently have a ATI x1950GT 512mb. Stats are VERY similar. My card stock is 512mb memory with 256mb output using GDDR3. Core is stock @ 500mhz and the memory is stock @ 600. When I overclock I can get the core to 600 which is VERY close to the 4850 and the memory to 700. 700 effective is 1390mhz. Now considering that my card has NO stream processing units, this card is a powerhouse compared to my x1950gt. I get about 120fps full settings @ 1680x1050 in Counter Strike Source. Imagine this card full setting. I'm creaming just thinking about it. I don't play next gen games and probably wont, most newer games aren't worth the game time. I'll happily play my older games and wait for SW:ToR to come out being made by BioWare. Even that game won't require high end gear.

5 out of 5 eggsSeems to be okay

Pros: I couldn't afford, and didn't want to spend tons of money on a 4870 or 280 Nvidia card, so I bought this, instead. One of the biggest reasons for buying this, though, was that it was a 'single slot' card. It runs well with the latest drivers, but I am not a hard core gamer, so I've never really run it hard.

Temps run between 48-51ºC.

Cons: While it says it's a single slot card, I still don't have access to the PCI slot on my M3A79-T Deluxe mobo. I don't know if that's the video card, or the way Asus did their mobo.

Other Thoughts: It's not that expensive, it runs nicely. Buy it if you don't need to biggest and baddest.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Card worked great with no problems right out of the box. Installation was a breeze with no driver issues. Ran Crysis with everything set to high with no problems. After 2 hours of playing the card still wasn't very hot. I did however manually set the fan speed to 65% before playing. The card fan isn't very loud until it hits about 70%. I'm sure that all depends on how good your case is. Some people leave low marks saying the fan is too loud. They probably have a cheap flimsy case that sound goes right through. Overall it does everything I need it to do and I haven't had any issues with it.

Cons: I live in Germany and needed a new video card ASAP so I had to buy from AAFES. Needless to say I paid 199.99. If I had a little more time I would've ordered from Newegg.

Other Thoughts: MSI K9A2 Platinum MOBO, Athlon 64 x2 5600, 4 GB MUSHKIN, 2x500 GB HDDs, COOLER MASTER Mystique case w/ 750w ps.

Oh and somebody gave this card a bad review saying it didn't work. They also stated they have a 300w power supply! Come on man quit giving bad reviews for products when you have no common sense!

3 out of 5 eggsPlays just about anything, but noisy

Pros: The card will play any video file smoothly. The biggest test is H.264 and AVCHD discs recorded from a camcorder or from the HD PVR which has been problematic with other video cards.

Cons: Creates a very noisy system.. This is intended for an HTPC build, and for whatever reason it creates a lot of system noise when running VMR 9 mode (exclusive full screen mode) in both my processor and the video card fans... I put back in my old NVIDIA 8500 GT and sure enough, much quieter.. I ordered a 9800 with HDMI so that I can play back H.264 and AVCHD files smoother.

Other Thoughts: Love that it has true HDMI built in on the card. The driver CD that came with it was not even the right one. Went to Diamonds site and downloaded latest one, then had to go to ATI's site for a patch due to dual core compatibiliy problems. I know the NVIDIA 9800 wont have true HDMI and is going to be going through a SPDIF from the motherboard, but any gains I would have had getting lossless sound were lost by the noise the card created...

4 out of 5 eggsHOT!

Pros: Single slot, powerful card

Cons: I own the ASUS single slot. This one looks like it has a bigger fan, and no plastic shell. With the ASUS, it will idle at 80 degrees at the 25% fan speed that it sits at. You NEED To adjust the fan speed manually.

Other Thoughts: 80 degrees idle is something that should have never been shipped.
