2 out of 5 eggsBroke

Pros: When it worked it was amazing.

Cons: After about 1 year it overheated. I haven't august it even the slightest but it still went out. I tried tech support and they gave me a bit of a hassle. I decided just to leave it at that and go buy from a another company.

Other Thoughts: I'm just coming back to let everyone know. Still wouldn't be that hard on them It might of been my lack of knowledge at the time.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Card

Pros: Its a nice performer, all around it keeps up with every game out there, runs most things on max without a hitch. Its quiet, runs cool as well and has great heat sinks built in. I've never overclocked it and never felt like needing it.

Cons: It has a big of a hitch when maxing things like Skyrim, it will glitch up for a few seconds and then run fine after that. More or less there aren't many hitches.

Other Thoughts: Worth the price.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: awesome card

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: i have had this card over a year now. over clocked to 775 for the gpu clock and 1125 for the memory clock. i have no problems running any game on max. crysis 2, skyrim, battlefield 3. you name it, this card runs it without problems.

3 out of 5 eggsCooling issues

Pros: Seems to run as expected of the HD5850

Cons: Definitely has heating issues, it runs quietly enough but but just can't keep its temperatures down, even with a 210mm fan blowing directly on it from the side.

2 out of 5 eggsMultiple displays stay away!

Pros: Plays Crysis 2 at 40-60 FPS average. That's the only reason it gets 2/5.

Cons: The Radeon HD 5xxx and 6xxx series have an issue with multiple monitors and the video memory causing the screens to flash black as if refreshing. This happens in either 2D or 3D applications making it VERY frustrating to do anything when your screen is flickering black.

Other Thoughts: Newegg would not replace the card because it was more than 30 days from the ORIGINAL purchase - not 30 days from the second card I got when I RMA'd the first because gaming was next to impossible.

Should have gone with an Nvidia GTX 560 Ti instead of ATI. Very upset for no driver fix from AMD and even more upset with Newegg for sticking me with a couple hundred dollar paper weight.

2 out of 5 eggsUnhelpful Customer Service

Pros: Easy to setup, was fast at the time when this card originally came out. Enjoyed the card when it worked.

Cons: The fan died and I RMA'd it to Diamond. After waiting for a hour on the phone till a CS agent answered to help me, I was able to send the card back. I waited 7 weeks for my card to return back to me. Come to find out they sent me back the EXACT same card with all the same problems with even more damage to the card.

Other Thoughts: Be cautious when returning items to Diamond. They lied to me and by the time I got my card back, the warranty expired. So all I was left with was a worthless damaged card. This comany was really helpful before. Now its terrible. Hope other people don't have the same problems as I did.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Works well. Stays cool. Plays just about every game I throw at it on full settings at 1920x1080. Great FPS.

Cons: Card is obnoxiously large. Had a hard time fitting it into my Raidmax Sirius case once it was hooked up to the power supply.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Newegg Service

Pros: HD 5850 GPU is excellent. It has a great performance/power consumption ratio.

When under load (Furmark), this particular card has a max tmp around 70 c.

Cons: When I bought this card, I thought it was going to be a reference design, but itwasn't. You can tell other ppl had the same issue as well.

The card itself felt rather cheap even though the performance was great.

Other Thoughts: Im writing this review to inform others that Newegg has great service. I called them to explain my situation, and they paid for the RMA, and gave me a refund with restocking fee waived. I was pretty satisfied.

For those ppl who wonder whats the differenbetween reference and non reference ... Reference card design allows adjustment of voltages which means better overclocking potential, which translates to better resale value. ALSO, its better quality too since the board design is by AMD while nonreference boards are tweaked by the manufacturers (Diamond in this case).

1 out of 5 eggsNot Referenced Card - Bad Bad Bad

Pros: I know NE removed the pictures of the referenced card ... I waited 10 days (weather delay) for delivery and within 2 min of opening the box, I was devastated to find it is a Sapphire's own (cheap) design. Never even plug it in. The referenced design card is the bomb. I mean literally bomb proofed and expensive to make. RMA it and NE was gracious enough to take care of me.

Cons: Do not buy this card expecting it to be the referenced card. Go buy the Eyefinity 6 5870 2GB Sapphire. It is the only card left and has out of this world engineering and workmanship.

Other Thoughts: I might be worth about $100, no more.

2 out of 5 eggsGood card, bad fan

Pros: The HD5850 is a wonderful card. I run everything at max settings and rarely come across lag.

Cons: Diamond clearly skimped out on the fan. Granted, I bought this when they were brand new and hard to come by and perhaps this is because they were churning them out as quickly as they could then and this no longer is a problem.

Other Thoughts: Buy another brand. It's a great card, but with the poor build quality and Diamond's reputation for lousy customer service, there is no reason to buy this one.
