1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy Diamond Products

Pros: Was a great video card when it worked.

Cons: Horrible Warranty
Horrendous Customer Support

Other Thoughts: Not will to repair video card under warranty, will not give repair quote, will not send back the defective card, will not respond to me complaints.
I sent in a video card for repair, it has two year "warranty". Upon sending in the video card, they found the card to be tampered with, therefore voiding the warranty. When asked for details, they were unresponsive. I asked for a price quote for repair, no response. I then simply wanted the video card, I paid for to be sent back to me which they have not and continue to be unresponsive. I have the Better Business Bureau involved and Diamond is not responding to the BBB either. BUYER BEWARE!

1 out of 5 eggsDiamond 6950PE52G

Pros: Card runs quiet. Has an HDMI output.

Cons: Card installed fine. My pc will boot into my Win7 64bit OS fine. Then the trouble starts. Every time I turn my pc on or reboot my pc, I get a BSOD. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. I've tried updating the driver. I've reformatted my hard drive. I've checked my memory with memtest. I've bought a new motherboard. Nothing stops the BSOD. When I put my old Nvidia 9800GT video card back in, everything works fine. I've contacted Diamond for help. I'm currently waiting to hear back from them.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad, Not Perfect

Pros: 1) Easily overclocked to 6970 speeds (880MHZ/1375MHZ)
2) Stock temps: idle 33C, load 62C
3) OC temps: idle 57C Load 74C
4) Doesn't drop below 45FPS (when OC'd) on Skyrim with maxed out settings.

Cons: 1) Reference design, not the two fan design shown

2) Could not unlock despite this being a reference design with dual bios. 6970 BIOS will flash and the clocks will change, the shaders remain locked. Edited the BIOS the board has stock to have 6970 shaders and it remains locked. Used the original W1zzard script and it's still locked.

3) I didn't receive the deus ex game code, I don't think I would of played it anyway.

4) No crossfire bridge and no adapters.

Other Thoughts: Fan does not turn up much until the card hits about 72C. It can be manually controlled but even 50% is loud. 100% is obnoxious.

FPS lags in Batman Arkham City, I think it's the game people with other cards have complained as well.

4 out of 5 eggsGot a reference

Pros: Reference model is unlockable to gain extra shaders
Dual bios switch

Cons: Reference cooler can be very loud
Very long card

Other Thoughts: Is seems to be a toss of the dice as to getting a reference model or the upgraded fan model. I received a reference model and I have worked with it a bit shaders unlocked with either a flash to 6970 bios which is currently not recommended due to voltage damage to the ram or by unlocking the shaders with RBE and a 6950 bios. I tried both and with the 6970 bios the fan was unbearably loud but the card was very fast. I have since gone back to the 6950 bios as the fan is more manageable. As for overclocking I went as high as 900/1400 on the GPU/Memory with no issues and MSI afterburner. I am currently at stock speeds. I ran the AvP DX11 benchmark and got 60 FPS with stock 6950 clocks and shaders unlocked and 70 FPS on 6970 bios. I am not sure I am getting full speed as I appear to have some driver issues as MW3 is getting 15fps as are other DX9 titles. BF3 I was getting 50-70 FPS DX11 ultra all at 1680x1050 my max resolution. I have and old Q9300 cpu so I am happy with that.

5 out of 5 eggsNot As Pictured

Pros: Despite the pictures, this IS a Reference Card, and a Reference Card is a pro due to the high probability of unlocking and 6970 bios flashing. Successfully unlocked the shaders from 1408 to 1536 and running an overclock of 880/1375, the same as a 6970, and without a voltage boost or the 6970 BIOS. This may or may not void the 5 year warranty, but it's proof that this card has a LOT of headroom.

Cons: This is a base card, and litterally comes with nothing else. Not even a CrossFireX Bridge. Not taking an egg off, but even other companies like XFX include the bridge at least, which was "implied" from the pics on the MFR's website. And Newegg, seriously, fix the pics of this thing.

Other Thoughts: Excellent case cooling is needed for this card, which is why some people don't like the reference cards. At idle with one monitor, it sits around 45 C. When my 42" LG TV is also hooked up and I'm watching movies, it jumps to 60 C. Gaming would push it further, but I'm waiting on a new fan controller right now, so, I can't benchmark. Overall, this was a steal at $229. I now have the performance equivalent of 2 HD 6970's CrossFired for $200 less.

5 out of 5 eggsNon-reference YET fantastic!

Pros: Cheapest on market 2GB when I bought it. Free game with it. Able to boost overclocking potential using MSI Afterburner and test it with MSI Kombustor (search web for what you have to easily type into its config file to use on this card.) I pushed it to 850 core and 1300 mem with no problems whatsoever before backing it to default and have full confidence that it can go to 880 and 1375. Now your temps do climb up to 80C ...but note that the fan when set to "auto" only increases to like 36% for whatever reason. These GPUs are made to take the heat...I would just manually adjust the overclock profile to push the fan up to 50% to keep temps down--which brought that temp down to 73C under full load on afterburner, however--just my preference. I backed it to default because the game tears up BF3 with stock settings (75 fps with my settings which I haven't tweaked) . I only OC when I need to. If next round of games show card's limits I will OC it and say IN YOUR FACE! AWESOME CARD!

Cons: The card did not unlock despite the switch and despite trying 3 different bioses each in two different methods (ATIflash with modded bios and ATIflash with 6970 bios--I flashed it like 6 or 7 times though and it booted perfect every single time--too cool). The catalyst utility only allows an overclock of up to 840 core and 1325 mem. See pros for easy workaround. Before anyone complains about unlocking, it is JUST A BONUS. I ordered this with the full knowledge that it would likely not unlock. I also knew that these 6950s overclock like beasts and that THAT makes the real performance difference, not the extra shaders (I think they only give a 3% boost--which would have been nice but oh well). Only other con is it is a heavy card, make sure you fully insert it until the plastic pin locks and use two screws and tighten FULLY to your case.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Reference Design
Dual Bios switch
I was able to unlock to 6970 shaders/core/mem

Cons: Not sure why they have pictures of a different card/hsf on here

Other Thoughts: I'm quite pleased with this purchase, impulse buy on Black Friday..

5 out of 5 eggsReference design!

Pros: - Reference Design - Some think this is con because of higher noise and heat, but for me this is a plus because I can more easily find watercooling blocks for this card and for cheaper!
- Overclockers - Even with just fan these cards overclock way past 6970 levels. I can't wait to try to unlock the shaders (have not attempted yet).

Cons: Heavy! - make sure you secure it to the case well - lol. These are my first ever High end graphics cards, didn't realize they are so beefy. Mid-range cards are like half the weight.

Other Thoughts: I bought two for CrossfireX and Eyefinity! Hooray Black Friday!

4 out of 5 eggsWeird order

Pros: -Great card
-Easily flashed to 6970 bios
-Smokin fast

Cons: -Runs HOT
-Not as pictured! Not dual fan at all, but rather a black plastic shroud cooler with a single fan, reference style. Kind of disappointed.
-False adverising.

Other Thoughts: Great value and great card. Comes with 5 year warranty which was nice. Not so keen on it being NOTHING like pictured. Not even close to that. No dual fan cooler. It did have the bios switch though, which meant i can flash it to 6970. So overall happy regardless.
