5 out of 5 eggsDecent Card, Cheap as well

Pros: I was given this gift from a friend. I ran this in Crossfire with an XFX Radeon HD 7770 Ghz Edition. It ran phenoninaly! I do not like the build however, it felt too 'plasticy' and not really sturdy. But it did the job and had me gaming at high performances!

Cons: The feel of it was just too flimsy, but the card got the job done and that is all that really matters. It went out about a month ago and the fan would start up and then stop spinning after about a minute of the computer being on. Pretty sure it is dead, but it had a good run. Still getting 5 Eggs from me!

5 out of 5 eggsDiamond 7770 GHz Edition

Pros: This card is cheap, effective, and will allow you to play any game available today. Skyrim works great with tons of mods, including an overhaul of HD textures.

Cons: The first card I bought wasn't being detected on my system. I tried countless times but it just wasn't working. I brought the card back to the shop I bought it from and got a new one in exchange. The new one worked perfectly and I haven't had a problem since.

Other Thoughts: Sure, I could deal without the extra trip to the computer shop, but I will consider that experience a simple fluke out-of-box. It happens. I have had this card for 6 months and have not had a single issue since. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 eggsquick follow-up

Pros: Update: blackscreens in crossfire are being resolved.

Cons: Forgot to mention that the card does not come with a crossfire bridge
Doesn't look like you can tweak voltage

Other Thoughts: The problem may have been a low vdda or unstable clocks (1100/1250 seems closer). Can't tell for sure because nothing shows up in event viewer.

The drivers ARE primitive though. Turns out AMD's adding sound control to catalyst which doesn't blend with my current setup. This causes a number of hassles for me personally.

And that's the thing now. AMD only puts out drivers once a month. If 12.5 isn't good enough.. that's another month of getting up to unplug my hdmi cable every time I turn off the monitor. It's not like its hard, but its annoying!

4 out of 5 eggsfirst ACTUAL review?

Pros: Decent price/performance
Low power consumption
Cool and quiet
Stable at 1100/1275?

Cons: Welp.. I've never had a new card arrive rather filthy looking until now
Also, see other thoughts

Other Thoughts: I bought this along with the Sapphire ghz edition (because they look EXACTLY the same, probably made in the same Chinese factory) planning to run them in crossfire. NOPE! Can't be doing that. It seems like AMD is trying to add sound control to catalyst, and in the process, managed to ruin crossfire operation for at least this card. Or perhaps they're just focussing on that rather than releasing quality drivers. Every game I try to run in crossfire ends up freezing and going to black screen regardless of clock speed. The only way to recover is by restarting.

I'm giving this card a 4/5 because it works, don't be deterred by the Diamond badge. However, as of Catalyst 12.4, DO NOT BUY A 7770 FOR CROSSFIRE. For a similar price (probably less) you can pick up a pair of 6850's, get higher frame rates, and save yourself countless headaches.

Have to decide now whether to keep a setup that currently doesn't work or pay shipping to send it back. MAD.

5 out of 5 eggsthis card has the power for those who are on a budget.

Pros: this card is a must have. and here are the list why
1. this card has not gave out since i bought this card.
2. 28nm Gpu is a new breed of gaming. and it has prove itself in my eyes when i first pop this card in to the computer
3. 1gddr5 ram is still good even for the high end games battlefield 3 runs at 60fps with 32gb of 1866mhz ram and thats just 1 card.
4. brand of quality on this card look good. the card it self look like it begs you to put it in the computer and use it.
5. pair this card with the AMD FX 8150 cpu and watch games of the past go from 60 to 220 fps with vsync on.
6. still has the same 450w requirement.
7. does not require more then 1gb of system ram even in crossfirex to take advantage of both cards.

and thats all the pros i find with this card. i am enjoying it plus it comes with a free copy of dirt3 which i am having a blast playing.

Cons: here are the cons for this card there really not that many only 2.

1. this card does not like to be overlocked! beWARED it will freeze the computer in 2secs flat causeing gamers to format the computer and start over.

2. AMD lowered the stream processors from 800 to 640! i think we gamers know that having more stream processors is a must. but in my mind is not all that bad. what it makes up for in the stream processors. it makes up for the 1ghz processor. so its balanced.

Other Thoughts: i love having diamond card. they never seam to break me at all. i mean i had the 6770 for over a year for my last card. and it still works. so other then that. just the diamond name sound like your getting the royal treatment in card selection.

i would recommend this card to any gamer just dont overclock it. if you want a card that overclocks go with a XFX or different brand. but if you dont care about overclocking and just want to game. diamond has you covered. and its backed with a 5 year warrenty from card buy day 1.
