1 out of 5 eggsThis was a SCAM

Pros: The card ran great until it died. Then when I went to RMA it I found out that Newegg wasn't supposed to be selling this card. It was part of a prebuilt ACER system that was given out for testing the card before they were released. So basically there is no warranty on it because it wasn't supposed to be sold.

Cons: no warranty and they ripped me off by selling me a used beta model that was used in a test system.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy anything from newegg because they will scam you out of your money with used items that are supposed to be new.

5 out of 5 eggsCan I get another one

Pros: Very powerful takes everything I throw at it plays bf3 and mw3 on max with no problems not even the slightest hiccup or pause in the games.

Cons: Not many other than I want another one to run in crossfire but it's never in stock! guess if newegg don't want my money i'll spend it someplace else if I can find it.

Other Thoughts: Also the display driver crashes from time to time but not sure if that's the graphics card or windows 7.

5 out of 5 eggsnot just for games

Pros: extreme quality, great gaming card, quiet. what else can i say? near perfection.doesn't seem like old tech to me.faster then my ref. 6870's in xfire. smokes the pants off my 4870x2 and uses way less power..and so does my 6870's now in my back up rig..

Cons: its not in stock with the discount right now.was discontinued when i checked a couple of days ago. i freaked out and searched everywhere for the same deal to buy another one. it was a no go almost had to go to the er. (just kidding) but i felt like i lost my best friend lol..

Other Thoughts: been trying to buy a 5970 at a decent price since it came out, paid 399.99 for it. it's only a few fps faster then my 6870's in xfire (that i paid less then 399.99 for. not much less.) it is smoother. and i don't just use it for gaming.imo 399.99 is the perfect price seeing that you can get 2 6870's for less. if gaming is all you do then this card is still the way to go though, less heat in your case, and you can crank every thing up..a ph2 1090t at 4.1 does very well with this card seems like they were made for each other..this card was/is suppose to be for the bulldozer, we'll see....

5 out of 5 eggsYOU HAVE GOT TO BE SH*TTING ME

Pros: For a card that runs everything you throw @ it with everything cranked up, for 399.99, this is an absolute steal. No longer being sold anywhere and on par with todays video tech.

Cons: Doesn't come in a retail box

Other Thoughts: I had a 4850 x2 that I purchased in 08', considering that was a budget X2 video card which performed phenomenal , this card will probably last me double the time I had the 4850

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Amazingly fast card. Still one of the best cards on the market. Easily better than my superclocked GTS 250's (512mb). Overall fantastic card. Runs everything on maxxed settings.
Got an amazing deal on it. $500 with and instant $100 off= $400 + free 2 day day shipping. Can't beat that. Got it in 2 days.

Cons: The card is very large and may not fit in some cases so make sure to measure before you purchase. The card is power hungry so you will need an adequate power supply. Also on this particular card there is only a 30 day warranty.

Other Thoughts: My 1000 watt power supply only has 4 6-pin connectors and the card requires 1 6-pin and 1 8-pin connector, so I had to order a dual 6-pin to single 8-pin power adapter which took another 3 days to get here which kind of defeated the whole purpose of 2 day shipping (although the shipping was still free). After I hooked up the adapter the card has been working great.
I would also like to note that a single 5970 is still better than a single 6970.

1 out of 5 eggswow so much fail!

Pros: well....there are no pros, i guess the fact that it is so cheap is a pro? oh and its shiny.

Cons: where to begin, ok so since it is an oem card it shipped in the newegg box; protected only by half bubble wrap. and the screw holder fins were bent. i was able to straighten out the fins, and proceeded to install it in a brand new system. this system is a brand new installation; on a new ssd drive, with a 1300w psu, windows 7 x64.

i installed the gpu just fine, i have a haf x cool master case, and the mobo was the 990fx-ud7. i installed the latest drivers for the device...etc.

i decided to stress test the gpu out (as you should do with all components such as these), this gpu failed when any load was put on it, freezing and crashing, bsod's, multicolored flickering of the screens. i even tried to underclock it....it was able to stay stable for a few minutes; but the end result was the same.

this card is a dud, the packaging was horrible; idc if the product is oem, when you have a device such as this, you need to protect it better.

Other Thoughts: i called newegg today and got an rma, but the guy (i dont know how he messed it up?) issued the rma for a pair for video adapters instead of the gpu...wow. so i have to call back tomorrow and get it straightened out.

5 out of 5 eggsOverkill for P45, E8500 based system.

Pros: Can run anything you throw at it out of the box at just about any reasonable resolution, Eyefinity, Overclocking headroom (better have the power to back it up), directx 11 support...

Cons: Size (12inches long - just barely fit into my Antec 900v1), power demands (think 300watts), heat (mine idles at 48C and peaks at 90C using Furmark)...

Other Thoughts: E8500 @ 3.6Ghz
Corsair H50
GA-EP45-UD3P DDR2 1066
RAID0 WDC Black 750Gigs (1.5TB)
CoolerMaster SilentPro 850Watt
Antec 900v1.0
DVD Burner
Samsung 24inch LED

I love it - upgraded from a MSI HD4890 Cyclone (also purchased from this Newegg). Blew that card away of course... No lag in Witcher/MassEffect1-2/Dragon Age/ Need4Speed Shift or anything else I have tested it with... Still, I find it strange how far things have come. The first video card I bought with 2 gpu's on the same card was the 3Dfx Voodoo 5500 AGP for about the same price!!! I'm old... If you can, you should really consider it, because you wont be sorry for this price and what this card do when fed power!!!

5 out of 5 eggsSpeechless Really ..

Pros: Ok ... I started off with the Radeon Sapphire Vapor-X 5770 ( excellent entry level card) and graduated to this Super Computer on a slate.

AMD/ATI never ceases to impress me. This Card will compete with the best of them at a price point that is ridiculous. I lusted after this card when it first came out and now I have a RED and BLUE (AMD/Intel) color scheme in my case :)

The Goal: get maximum performance w/out spend more money on a new PSU and comparing to the current power house's i.e. GTX 580/90 ATI/AMD 6990

If you can get this card (while supplies last) do so!!! This Card will perform ever bit as well as those that are $300 more.

BUILD: CORSAIR 600 T, GIGABYTE X58 UD3R, CORE i7 950, CORSAIR PSU AX750 (GOLD), CORSAIR 1033MHZ (low latency low power consumption Ram 7-7-7-20, SAMSUNG SSD (128 ) , Western Digital 1TB (Caviar Black 7,200 RPM/64 MB Cache),

Cons: Had to do a fresh/clean re-install of OS to purge what appeared to be driver conflict with Previous AMD/ATI GPU settings.

*** Recommend a fresh RE_INSTALL of your OS after installing the card to avoid game crashing ****

Other Thoughts: *** Recommend a fresh RE_INSTALL of your OS after installing the card to avoid game crashing ****

5 out of 5 eggsTop Shelf

Pros: This card measures up to the 6990 in a lot of ways. It performs exceptionally, the fan runs at a very quiet pace normally, and aesthetically it is a great looking card. The OEM deal is a plus in my opinion, and when you add the $100 promo code this card is very hard to pass up.

Cons: The fan is very loud at high settings, however if your case has good airflow it won't ramp up its fan automatically unless the ambient temperature is abnormally high.

Other Thoughts: As mentioned in a normal situation with a good case with good airflow, the fan won't spin at a high setting which keeps it very quiet, especially for a card of this nature. If ambient temperature is too high, however, you'll definitely hear the fan spin up to its higher, vacuum cleaner-like setting.

5 out of 5 eggsFast for old tech

Pros: Got mine for only 400$ and it's worth it. oc to 775/1125 with no voltage increase.
80-130 fps in bfbc2 1920x1080 with 11.9 whql drivers. This will run bf3 ultra no problems

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: a 970 at 4.0 and this is a beast of a pc
