4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it needs to do

Pros: This card is plenty for anyone who does not seriously game. I bought it in preparation for my upcoming VISTA upgrade and it's price/performance ratio is unmatched. If you want a serious gaming card, get the 8800. If not, get this.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: This also has great overclocking features, though I don't think I'll ever use them.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great overall card. Does what I need it to. Haven't pushed it too much with gaming.

Cons: The “Splendid Video Enhancement Technology” feature is more of a bother to me. I’m not sure its purpose but when you watch movies/videos, it adds a tag to it when it first starts up. That’s something I didn't put up with. I disabled the feature in the device manager.

3 out of 5 eggsProblem with Multi-Card Setup

Pros: Good buy for a single-card system. 7600GT is probably one of the best chipsets in this price range.

Cons: 7600GT-based video card from other manufacturers can be had for lower price. Problem with getting Nvidia cards to work in a multi-card setup. Now with SLI and what not, I’m sure there are certain combinations that work together. But my experience with ATI cards was smoother.

Other Thoughts: At first I was trying to use the 7600GT with an older Nvidia FX5500 AGP card under WinXP 32-bit. The system wouldn’t even boot up on the first attempt. After tweaking different BIOS and OS settings and trying different drivers, I was able to get the system running but it locks up randomly. Then I tried using two 7600GT cards in another system with dual PCIe slots under Vista 64-bit. I was never able to get this system to boot with any tweaking. Finally I gave up and got two ATI X1650Pro cards for the Vista system. This time the system just came up without any problem! The X1650Pro chipset is probably a lesser performance, but I don’t play much 3D games and only want a multi-display system, so it works just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card, Great Price

Pros: Awesome card. Much faster than I expected. Comes with utility to monitor and overclock the card. Easy installation. Works well with Vista.

Cons: No extra bundled software like games. Gets alittle loud after a while, but all these cards get loud.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended. Maybe a aftermarket cooler would be a good idea though.

5 out of 5 eggsWow!

Pros: I Love this card! I was able to get it for $xxx and it's the best $xxx Vid card I've ever bought. Cranked up COD 2, NFS MU and NFS U2 and no problems. Ran clean. The Dual DVI is a nice feature to have. My Apple Cinema Display looks great with it.

Cons: Has an SLI connector on it and Shows SLI in the Windows Config menu but no where in the box or documentation shows SLI compatible. I'm tempted to buy another card and try it.

Other Thoughts: Great card! Wonder about the SLI capabilities. Good investment for the price! Thanks Asus and Newegg
