The Radeon X1550 based EAX1550/TD/256M from ASUS is a CrossFire ready card great for basic gaming or running Vista. The 256MB of GDDR2 memory is enough for most tasks. If necessary, the HyperMemory technology can access system memory for real-time graphic processing.
Dual screen ability lets you take advantage of some of ASUS’s unique features. You can run the game on the main screen and have the Gamer OSD and Game FaceMessenger utilities open on the other. Gamer OSD lets you chat and manage your cards settings without having to exit the game-overclock on the fly for maximum control of your game play experience. Use Game FaceMessenger for IM style in-game chats. The VGA and DVI-I ports let you attach any monitor you want. They also include a DVI-I to VGA adapter if you want to run dual VGA monitors.
Sometimes you want to watch movies, hook your HDTV to the DVI interface or use the adapter cable for component video connection. Or, if you’d rather watch the movie on your PC then the Splendid Video Enhancing Technology kicks in, enhancing color depth and intensity delivering a cleaner, clearer picture.

This card is crazy!!!
- Pros: This card is RIDICOULOUSLY over-clockable!I did what the other reviewer said "overclock the VPU to 655 Mhz and Mem clock to 432"..BUT WAIT!I Used ATITool and overclocked the VPU to 695.00Mhz and the Memory Clock to 490.50 Mhz!With no problems AT ALL!!!I used this different tool because The ATI utility had a limit on overclocking. So i got Extra MHz's by using Atitool.and it runs.(dont laugh)FATE(latest game i got until i get a recent one)Runs fate on Max settings with absolutely NO LAG whatsoever!everything is crisp and smooth as a baby's bottom Lol.Im using the DVI adapter that came with this card.my screen looks a little clearer so thats also a plus.i use it on windows xp home but boy is it worth the price.this card (overclocked of course Lol) can probably compare to an Nvidia 80-120$ vid card.its that good.and as the other person said,ITS DDR2 NOT GDDR2.But that doesn't really matter once you overclock it.If your on a budget like i was, look no further.this is the card for you.
- Cons: None that i can think of.this card can run almost ANY game with minimum if not Recommended requirements.EXCEPT!!!FOR THE FACT THAT THE 1GB HYPERMEMORY IS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.To achieve the full 1 GB hypermemory you need to have at least 2 GB system ram and have windows xp *64*-Bit (not sure about the vista numbers, sorry!)
here are some of the specs as far as hypermemory goes.
Windows 2000-Total of *384* Mb memory.256 (onboard)+128(Shared)
Windows XP 32 Bit-Total of *512* Mb 256(onboard)+256(Shared)
Windows Xp 64 Bit-(Full *1* Gb Hypermemory)256(onboard)+768(Shared)=1 Gb hypermemory. Thats the only con that i didnt like, since i have windows xp home 32 Bit.but even with 512 Mb Video Ram this card runs beautifully.if you got win Xp 64 Bit.I HATE YOU Lol =)
- Other Thoughts: when i was overclocking with Atitool,my screen would reset.(but that was obviously because i overclocked too much)and my computer is a low end system with a 300W PSU,and i've had absolutely no overheating problems, sys temp stays a nice 90 F and that means that my case is adequately cooled, with the cpu running at 95 F under load.
this card is awesome for the casual gamer,or if your into overclocking.i overclocked this son-of-a-gun ridicoulously and my system is as stable as can be.just make sure that you know what your doing.this was my first overclock BUT i read a LOT about OC'ing.so do your research, protect your investment, and happy gaming!if i ever have problems ill post up another review...but dont expect one!!=)
Better than you think
- Pros: Simple. Upgrade the bios from asus website. Upgrade the Driver from ATI website to Catalyst 7.6
in the control panel go to the overdrive tab and overclock vpu to 655mhz and memory to 432mhz
- Cons: the fan is a bit loud. But there good reason for that, once you over clock it, the fast blowing fan is the only thing that keeps it from burning. and it does a good job at keeping it cool.
- Other Thoughts: I only got this card to be able to run vista. But not only it runs vista real smooth, it has also been running Half life 2 in it highest setting and 1440x900 resolutin. I never thoght it would run it so good. just make sure you system has good memory because the card takes advantage of the memory speed.

Worth every penny
- Pros: Price. Performance. VERY easy to overclock. Runs BF2 on high settings flawlessly. CoD4 on low-mid settings with 30-40 average fps.
- Cons: May get a bit unstable if you push it too hard but that's understandable.
- Other Thoughts: Get this card! If you're building a budget gaming rig like me, this card is perfect.
Surprisingly Fast
- Pros: This card surprises me a lot with its ability to run games. BF2 runs with no flaw whatsoever on all high settings at 1680x1050 resolution, BF2142 also does with occasional lag during explosions. WOW, Halo, warcraft 3 are all old and run perfect. all of this at 1680x1050. this card overclocks like a beast. All for 30 bucks
- Cons: crysis is playable at medium/low at a smaller resolution, supreme commander makes the card buckle too. It won't do dx10, is kind of outdated
- Other Thoughts: Great card for a low budget gamer.. (some kid building a computer.. like me)
Read it
- Pros: not very good. Asus is only good with mother board
- Cons: It took more than a week to get it ( to Ny)
They send me wrong item ( x1300, an older version) this card is horrible!
- Other Thoughts: they refunded my money the same day because of their mistake!
