The Radeon X1550 based EAX1550/TD/256M from ASUS is a CrossFire ready card great for basic gaming or running Vista. The 256MB of GDDR2 memory is enough for most tasks. If necessary, the HyperMemory technology can access system memory for real-time graphic processing.

Dual screen ability lets you take advantage of some of ASUS’s unique features. You can run the game on the main screen and have the Gamer OSD and Game FaceMessenger utilities open on the other. Gamer OSD lets you chat and manage your cards settings without having to exit the game-overclock on the fly for maximum control of your game play experience. Use Game FaceMessenger for IM style in-game chats. The VGA and DVI-I ports let you attach any monitor you want. They also include a DVI-I to VGA adapter if you want to run dual VGA monitors.

Sometimes you want to watch movies, hook your HDTV to the DVI interface or use the adapter cable for component video connection. Or, if you’d rather watch the movie on your PC then the Splendid Video Enhancing Technology kicks in, enhancing color depth and intensity delivering a cleaner, clearer picture.

BF2 runs with no flaw whatsoever on all high settings at 1680x1050 resolution, BF2142 also does with occasional lag during explosions. WOW, Halo, warcraft 3 are all old and run perfect. all of this at 1680x1050. this card overclocks like a beast. All for 30 bucks Cons: crysis is playable at medium/low at a smaller resolution, supreme commander makes the card buckle too. Michael K. 6/7/2008 11:01:15 PM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 2/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5Amazing budget card Pros: Easily overclockable to the limits of Catalyst's Overdrive utility, with a decent performance gain to show for it. 1500 3dmarks in 06, about 1/10th of the performance for 1/10th of the price. Much better than anything else in its price range. Anything from over a year ago should run on its highest spec with good fps, COD 4 and Crysis run around 40 fps with everything on low or medium. Cons: For the price I can't really have any. The heatsink's thermal pads were displaced about a millimeter off, but it doesn't seem to effect the performance of the card. This video card has handled everything I've thrown at it. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, GTR2, Madden 08, even Battlefield 2 all at max settings. The card is extremely easy to overclock with ATI Tool. I run 654 core and 409 memory, any higher and it resets itself, but I think it's because I don't have any fan on it. This card is even great for those that use programs like Photoshop and such. I would recommend this video card to anyone that wants to game on a budget. Cons: Did not come with the driver disk, but that's what you get for buying the open box. Did you find this review helpful? I used it in a budget build for a customer, it is running really well about 8 months later. Plays CS better than I expected. Cons: It wasn't free. Other Thoughts: I bought this item on 10/07/07 price for $48.99. Now the Item is around $30 and I highly recommend it for a budget build.
