5 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: Price............for what it is, it worked for my application. I put together a budget system aimed at running MS FS2004 (Flight Simulator).....yes it's been around five years since its release, but we can finally afford parts to run it without spending $3k+. This card ran it well.

1 out of 5 eggsI get a black screen under Vista 64U

Pros: Price.

Cons: Installed under Vista 64. When Vista download drivers and I restart, PC result in a black screen after the windows loading screen.

My motherboard is ASUS a2m-vm hdmi. I have PCIEx selected on BIOS.

I did a clean install using a Windows Vista 64 Ultimate OEM with no luck. The same problem. I can boot to Safe Mode but only with Vista Standard VGA driver.

Monitor works just fine.

If you use Vista 64, forget about this card!!!

Other Thoughts: Old ASUS fan, but now I may scrap all ASUS hardware for ever!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price, Great Card

Pros: Simple install, plays all the HD content I can throw at it. (1080i through component, on HD-TV, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray).

As always NVidiea set up a piece of cake.

It starts at boot at 800x600 so if your display can't handle that you will see nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Easy to install on a new system build. Blue-Ray looks good on a 40" LCD Using the HD out on this card. Some cool software to over clock came with it. Haven't tried to yet. Card Doesn't seem to heat up to much. I have plenty of cooling fans in system case, so not an issue. Fast Shipping! Thanks New Egg!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Card - Needs Air, Though

Pros: Holds a Spyder2Express color calibration in Vista 32 bit (this is the main reason for the upgrade from my built-in Intel GMA 950 chipset, which completely refused to calibrate). Quiet; Decent Performance; Good Value

Cons: This thing really needs some type of airflow past the heatsink. Convection doesn't cut it.

Other Thoughts: In my PC, it sits next to a full-size card on the heatsink side, which means it gets very little natural airflow. It was regularly getting up to 62 or 63 degrees C, even when I underclocked it to its minimum settings. I went out and bought an Antec TriCool 92mm fan, which is a SUPER QUIET case fan (14 dB on its lowest setting, 21 at medium). It's suspended next to the video card with a hodgepodge of cable ties and a Bic pen tube -- but the card is hanging around 55 degrees C, with the fan on medium and the card running at default clock speeds. Overall happy with my purchase, especially with the rebate. This ASUS card plays well with the ASUS motherboard in my HP.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap - little problem

Pros: Inexpensive, my main reason for buying is the fanless cooling. No fan means no chance for the fan to stop working due to dust or otherwise, eliminating the probability of overheating.

Cons: I encountered intermittent problem when the PC is rebooted. The board doesn't reset the frequency, so the system boot up into a screen that's not viewable. Don't know if it's this board or others are having the same issue.

5 out of 5 eggsNice for the price.

Pros: Can't complain about it. It does pretty much what you expect for the price range, and it does it without any problems (at least, I've encountered none).

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent graphic card for silent HTPC

Pros: Ideal choice for a silent HTPC. Cheapest, passively cooled graphic card that can also offload high definition content decoding.

Doesnt hurt to say again: newegg is EXTREMELY fast with the shipping.

Cons: Please see the rebate problems below.

Other Thoughts: If you are depending on the rebate to calculate the final cost of the card, you need to aware of:

- The rebate form clearly says "This rebate can NOT be combined with any other ASUS’ promotion offer". But currently you cannot buy this card without some game that comes along with it, and there is a promotion associated with the game. So I am keeping my fingers crossed about the rebate.
- The rebate form says "ASUS Graphic Card MIR for January, 08" as part of the address. I have used the same on the rebate envelope, but would not be surprised if the rebate gets rejected.

But even if the rebate does not come through, this card is worth its price (the accompanying game is worthless for me).

I do not care much about ATI GPUs, so there could be better ATI based graphic card.

5 out of 5 eggsAs Advertised

Pros: Silent, Cheap, Runs in my Shuttle.
I was looking for a video card upgrade for my Shuttle SB83. I needed a silent card with reasonable horsepower that would run in my Shuttle HTPC with its wimpy 250 Watt power supply.

It does all that with no problem.

Cons: None
