5 out of 5 eggsaverage Joe

Pros: Only paid $30 some ought dollars after rebate for a card that is so good I would never update if it had HDMI.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsCompelled!

Pros: Quite possibly the cheapest upper mid-range bargain I've ever managed in my life! Bought in 2009 for $35 and I'm still using it! Good overclocker in fact I eventually just reflashed the BIOS with a faster version. 192-bit memory interface. At least 2x as fast as the 8600gts it replaced. Not all 9600 GSO's are the same. This was one of the good ones! Supports SLI!

Cons: No fan control. 'Only' 384MB DDR3 memory.

Other Thoughts: After 2 years of continuous use and much pleasure from my no rebate $35 purchase, I felt compelled to review this amazing card. I've played everything from Ghostbusters to Dead Space to X3 to Farcry2 to L4D2 on this thing.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value.

Pros: Great bargain. After the rebate and with the free copy of Call of Duty, this was a real steal. Runs the C.O.D. game at 1280x720 with 4x AA with no problems at all. Seems to stay fairly cool.

Cons: It's a very large card. Not only will it take up an adjacent PCI slot, but it may also get in the way of items on the front of your case. I have a very large case, and this prevented the mounting of hard drives in a certain location.

Other Thoughts: It's a great card, but be weary of the size.

5 out of 5 eggsdecent mid-range card

Pros: This card scored 29 fps in World in Conflict on 1024x768 and 22 fps on 1280x1024. Scored 214 fps in HL2 Lost Coast; on a X3 720 OC'ed to 3.5Ghz.

Cons: needs a 6 pin power connector, while it's close competitor, the ATI 4670 doesn't.

Other Thoughts: If you can get this for under $60. , then it is a good deal.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't beat the price

Pros: $35 after MIR, yet handles WOW and COD 4&5 with details on high on my main 22" 1600x1040 2ms LG monitor with a 2nd monitor running 1240x1020 2ms LG for iTunes. =)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Got this simply to replace the 8600GTs card in a computer I'm selling. Easily worth the $35.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Budget Card

Pros: Plays Call of Duty World at War at Highest settings, 4X AA, at 1440x900 Resolution! Also runs Crysis at Very High at 1440x900 Resolution without AA. But my X2 4200+ 2.2Ghz, and 2GB RAM slowed it down in Crysis.

Cons: It is kinda big but the bigger the card the more it makes me think it's powerful so it's not really a con. But I couldn't leave this spot blank! Or could I... Hm...

Other Thoughts: BEST BUY for a budget build. Got this, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, X2 7750, 19 inch Widescreen, new case. Everything but OS (I'll use the free Windows 7 RC) for $548.

5 out of 5 eggsMy First Video Card

Pros: I never really cared to update any of the video cards on my PCs because i've been content with the ones that they come equipped with. I figured I'd finally make that transition and I must say that I'm really satisfied with my first video card purchase. It runs Left 4 Dead and Call of Duty 4 nicely. I'm still waiting for Call of Duty: World at War to arrive. I'm not that informed when it comes to video cards but I know that this was a good deal. ($54.99 - $20.00 rebate + Free CoD:WaW = pretty frikkin sweet to me at least)

Cons: Not too familiar with other video cards but this thing looks pretty big. Its even takes up the PCI slot next to it. I have a microatx motherboard though.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for Folding @home

Pros: Decent mid-range card for gaming.

Great card for use with Folding@home (this is the "good" 96 SP card, not the newer 48 SP card)

Great price AR

Excellent cooling

Cons: -1/2 egg: No fan speed control (always runs @ 100%, but not real loud)

-1/2 egg: Included monitoring/OC software (and version DL from Asus website) would not work on Windows 7 64 bit RC or Vista 64 bit. Had to DL EVGA's utility to OC the card (and use Riva Tuner to monitor temps (but Riva would not allow OC options), since EVGA Precicion could not monitor temp)

Other Thoughts: Have it overclocked (via EVGA Precision) to 600/1836/900 (core/shader/mem) and gets ~3500 actual ppd. Temps get to 75°C max folding (even the 511 point WU). I have to other GSO's and this one gets the most points of the 3 (at the same clocks)

Cooling fan does take up 2 slots, not a con, just make sure you have space for it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Free Call of Duty, inexpensive, ddr3.

Cons: 384mb of ram

Other Thoughts: If you don't have Call of Duty it is totally worth it.

4 out of 5 eggs9000 series dosent dissapoint

Pros: Rarely does this thing drop below 100 fps even on higher quality settings. Its size Is almost gargantuan, and the fan mounted is absolutley amazing.

Cons: its somewhat low momory causes it to go into an almost fractal rendering, where all the decals (bulletholes blood stains) stretch across the screen
