1 out of 5 eggsasus AH4650 AGP crashes with 3d games

Pros: If the drivers were working this may be a suitable card.
But since they do not, it is difficult to provide a valid Pro
recommendation.

Cons: Can not get updated ati drivers for this card.
Oblivion locks up soon as you move. Logs shows that an error occurs in the ati driver. There is supposed to be a "Hot fix" at the amd/ati site but the download is not available. I would recommend getting a card from a vendor that supports their cards with working drivers, simple as that.

Other Thoughts: Before you buy a video card verify that you can get valid working drivers for the games/software that you use.
This card does provide driver updates, at least so far.
I would not purchase another Asus card as a result of my
experience.

5 out of 5 eggsASUS 4650 HDMI AGP VIDEO CARD

Pros: This video card is working very well in my old agp system. I didn't have any problem installing the card. Just remember to connect the 4 pin power cord to the card. My system recognized it right away and the drivers that came with the card installed without a problem.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: It's to bad that they are phasing out this card, there are a lot of people out there with older computers and don't have the money to buy new ones. This card should give me a few more years of life with this computer.

5 out of 5 eggsHDMI audio works with Vista

Pros: Works as expected. My PC is connected to 65" Panasonic plasma TV and it outputs 1920x1080p and audio flawlessly using HDMI. I am using latest 9.12 driver from ATI web site. I had no problems installing the driver. No conflicts with motherboard on-board audio. CPU usage did not spike. This is the best AGP card for HTPC.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: My PC is used as Home Theater PC (HTPC). The MB is a 6 year old Asus P4C800 Deluxe with 2 GB RAM. I am glad I won't have to upgrade the hardware for a long time.

5 out of 5 eggsASUS AGP

Pros: The installation was easy and Windows 7 accepted the drivers. Graphics intensive web pages seem to "snap" on screen a little faster. Although thismay be subjective; the sound seems richer.

Cons: I had some problems on the initial install. The device requires a 'y' splitter to junction off the power supply. As a consequence of my PC configuration, I had some difficulty with drive access and administrative priveledge after the install. Ultimately everything was sorted out.

Other Thoughts: My motherboard is an intel 845PEBT2. The max capacity is only 4x on the AGP. I like the cards characteristics so I am willing to suffer the hardware handicap.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good AGP card if you still use this bus

Pros: Runs COD MW2 at playable framerates. I bought this card for that game only to bridge me over till my next build. Install was painless. Bundled software is another story.

Cons: Bundled OC'ing software looks promising but uses to much system resource and tended to lock up games. YMMV

Other Thoughts: If you are playing older games like Half Life 2 you can pretty much max it out. All other games let the game determine what is best then tweak from there.

3 out of 5 eggsWorking on Windows 7 64 bit

Pros: Initial install went ok with my ASUS K8N using a VGA cable.
-With drivers loaded from ASUS website. Windows rated graphics at 5.1 and gaming graphics at 6.4, and Aero worked fine.
-Without any drivers installed, Window 7 runs the card at 800x600.
-The Included Drivers are for Vista but are ok if you don't mind aero affect being shut off. Other ratings stay the same
-Drivers also can be loaded from the ATI website and they installed fine on my system but did not solve my HDMI problem as described below.

Cons: There is an issue with the HDMI port. Once an HDMI cable was plugged in, the system went haywire and blue screened several times. The fix was to disable the Windows High Definition audio in hardware manager, download the realtek HDMI driver and then re-enable sound. When I refreshed my PC performance score, the numbers stayed the same as above but Aero features now don't work. I may go back to the ATI website and re-download the 4600 series driver to see if this fixes the problem.

Other Thoughts: Overall a nice card but I wouldn't want to troubleshoot it again. Also, once the audio driver was updated (pick the high definition one) the device manager only shows an ATI High Definition Audio Device.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy driver install, Lower performance

Pros: The easiest to install card from all AGP 3x-4x series Radeon cards on newegg (or anywhere), considering the HIS card reviews listed! ASUS vga drivers (CCC, ati drivers, etc) installed without a hitch, remember to uninstall old drivers first. I was scared off the HIS higher end cards on newegg due to the reviews! (50% 3 and under, driver issues).

Card fits into my microATX board and Thermaltake lanbox no problem, takes up 2 slots of space, and runs great on an OCZ 550W PSU.

VGA and DVI out very helpful for older system compatibility. 12V molex power needed is also compatible with older power connectors.

Cons: I seem to have lost AC97 audio - but that's common, have to check device manager to disable all ati sound devices ticked with the yellow ?

Dissapointed with low sisoft sandra lite gpu benchmarks, the 3850 reference card squeaks in slightly higher, and 3dMARK05 (only directX9 i know) is low at just under 4k. But, this is a lower end card. I'm gonna wait it out for 1-2 years more to get a 5870 cheap.

Other Thoughts: Good card for $100, but having a 3Dmark score only mildly better than the nvidia 7900 GS it replaced is a somber reminder why we all need to go core i7 and PCI-E.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent AGP Video Card

Pros: Excellent video card... I just gave some more life to my old computer...
I had a Nvidia 7600GT before and now with this new card, I just doubled my score in PCMark...
Well, I will be able to play some new games without having to upgrade right now...

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsWill Run Windows 7!

Pros: Price, easy install on older operating systems. Very quiet, haven't heard the fan once.

Cons: To be able to run the Windows 7 Aero themes that make it look so pretty you need to go to the Asus web site to get the proper drivers! I did not find these instructions anywhere or any kind of hints to solve this problem. Although after that there are no problems with card.

Other Thoughts: Really makes a older system shine! After installing this card I was playing Left 4 Dead 2(demo) and Bioshock. Not really the newest games or graphics heavy but that's better than what I was running before.
