4 out of 5 eggsgood but hot

Pros: have hdmi output
includes low profile bracket
dual monitor support
works on my dell 545s

Cons: overheats too easy.
catalyst software doesnt work with win7, causes computer to automatically cannot reconize driver

Other Thoughts: overall this video card is pretty good since it could actually work on my dell. used the hdmi part to plug it into a tv, very good quality.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Card Beware of the LP bracket

Pros: Very Nice Card.... Cheap price when you consider rebate, for a card that actually has some video power

Cons: The only Con I don't like about the card is the Low Profile bracket...They should have given the customer 2 separate pieces......Because this 1 piece it is not possible to fit it in a slimline Dell (Optiplex 745/755)/Dimension 5100c series.... So I had to install it without a bracket. and remove the VGA Port cable...so no dual monitor possible.

Other Thoughts: ASUS should package these with 2 separate LP brackets and it will sell like hotcakes....

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Not bad for a budget card, my main card died on me and I needed a quick replacement and I picked this one. I dropped the card into the pcie slot and it worked great. Very small card.
Also newegg is quick as hell with shipping. I ordered it on saturday, arrived on tuesday (monday was martin luther king day)

Cons: Hm... to me the heatsink fan seems a little mediocre. But I guess that could be cause I'm used to bigger cards like the 8800gtx and gtx 285. So I guess not really a con.
Also at max, the little fan can get a little noisy, but still pretty quiet compared to most other cards.

Other Thoughts: Nice little budget card. Handy as a quick backup.
A good way to help cool it down even more is to point a case fan straight at it.

5 out of 5 eggsLow Profile Powerhouse!

Pros: Low Profile, Overclocking Features & Fan Speed Control With The ATI Catalyst Control Center, Runs Really Cool In My Slim Design Case, Considering That My Slim Case Does Not Have Good Cooling. Runs Cool Even When Overclocked.

I Had No Problems With The Low Profile Bracket. If Anything It Was More Convenient To Have The Brackets As One Piece.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I'm assuming all the bad ratings of this product are because people are using this card with a slow CPU, etc. This graphics card flys with my hardware. I can play Bioshock as well as Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 on high settings, although I have the card overclocked a little. Without the card overclocked I was still able to play Bioshock on high settings and Left 4 Dead on medium to high settings. The games play nice, smooth and fast.

My PC Specs:
CPU: AMD X2 7850 2.8 GHz
Memory: 800 MHz 2GB
Hard Drive: 160GB 7200RPM
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit

4 out of 5 eggsGood enough

Pros: I got this to replace my stock card, which was missing HDMI. I do not do any gaming, so the old card was just fine for me, but I upgraded anyway so that I could connect my PC to a TV through the HDMI port.

For my purposes (adding HTPC capability), this card works just fine. After rebate, it was only $5 more than a 4350 card, so I think it's an excellent value.

The fan is very quiet -- silent, as far as I could hear (or, rather, not hear it). Runs pretty cool too -- ~44c without overclocking.

I have a normal-size computer case, so I can't comment on the negative reviews of the low-profile bracket -- I simply didn't need it.

Cons: I kind of expected the performance gain to be larger -- my Windows 7 experience score went up from 3.4 to just 3.9, so I am a somewhat disappointed / surprised. On the other hand, I did not have any complaints about speed even with my old card so it doesn't really matter.

1 out of 5 eggsanother non-fan of the bracket

Pros: can't really think of good things to say about this card. My old x1650 outperforms this card in the old games I play.

Cons: The bracket. are you kidding? considering most low-profile installations are on computers with limited slots, and mine won't even fit in the computer because of the bracket. I had to take it off to even get it installed. Idiotic.

Slow. I bought this for an HTPC I was building, but now I have doubts this will outperform the 2600 Pro I was going to replace with this.

Other Thoughts: Very surprised by ASUS, I thought they usually made decent products.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsThough it was a perfect card, but is only average

Pros: - I bought the 1GB!
- HDMI/DVI/D-Sub/HDCP compliant
- The price for a Radeon 4650 series (I got it for 66$ shipped -20$ rebate)
- SmartDoctor utility works well and is usefull
- HD videos runs very nice

Windows 7 score is:
[5.0] for Desktop performance for Windows Aero
[6.4] for 3D business and gaming

Cons: - Seems to heat up A LOT (+70 degrees C idle) in my small form factor Acer X3810 and I haven't even played 3D intensive game yet!

- The 2 slot optional bracket is really dumb! Very useless I don't even know what to do with it... tried cutting the bracket but it's all crooked, buying a third party is just hard to find, running it bracketless is just not an option, what now?! Currently running it with my second PCI-E slot sacrificed. Aarrrrggg!! Asus should have provided 2 single slot bracket!!

- DDR2... They should have made it GDDR3 like the Asus EN220GT 1GD3 which is impossible to find! (Why?!?) This would have definitely give it a little boost.

- Asus Video Security Online didn't work on my system...

- GamerOSD says: "Realtime overclocking, benchmarking and video capturing..." I have yet to find overclocking settings and benchmarking in this application. It is only for video capturing and broadcasting!

Other Thoughts: My computer required a low profile card and low power consumption, so not much option was available. If you can find same price from another brand/model I'd say go for it. Even if it is not 1GB memory.

The main selling point for me to buy this card was:

1- Value / Price
2- 1GB
3- Radeon 4650

I gave it 3 eggs because it is ASUS. Else it would have been 2 eggs. You're slowly losing marks ASUS!

2 out of 5 eggsbracket is stupid

Pros: low profile and fit perfect in my dell

Cons: The bracket was completely idiotic, it forced me to either make a custom bracket or buy a 3rd party one, I mean how difficult would it have been to have 2 brackets instead of one that spanned two slots. Knowing what I know now I would have opt’ed to spend the extra $5

Other Thoughts: the card over heats quickly

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. Please contact us at aps_support@asus.com. We would love to correct the bracket issue, your information and suggestion would certainly help during that process, please reference case number "NE615259"

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Mine runs about 50-55c (cool) even when overclocked to max. Runs FutureMarked tests overclocked to the Max. Very Stable.
Fan is very quite and seldom runs over 50% Power.
Good for Low Power Systems. 300 watt power supply.
Got Rebate which makes it a Great Price.

Cons: For an ATI 4650 it's definitely the slowest on Futuremark Tests even when overclocked to max, but still faster than many similar priced Nividia Boards.
With the Rebate I still had to give it an overall 4 because of great price/performance ratio.
Not for High Performance Gamer but should play most games.
