Good enough
- Pros: Superior cooling to my evga8800gtsSSC1g
Price ASUS has always done me right Newegg!
- Cons: It's not the fastest or most powerful card on the market
- Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace the above mentioned 8800. The 8800 ran stupid hot and it was on it's last legs. The cooling is so improved I can't even compare the two. The 8800 was a superior card on paper but could never achieve it due to heat issues. I'm going to start tentatively ocing this, I'm confident it can handle a significant oc.
ASUS 9800GT
- Pros: Nice card. So far so good.
- Cons: None
Good value, if it works
- Pros: Cheap, 3 different outputs, cuda enabled, good for gaming
- Cons: without the mail in rebate, its not your best choice. The ATI 4850 is much better for gaming and at the same price point. Mine died after 3 days of light use, but during those days it worked i was very happy with my purchase. I have an RMA with newegg to get it replaced, i just hate the downtime.
- Other Thoughts: I can't fault ASUS as this is my first bad experience with a piece of hardware in a long time. Every manufacture from time to time is going to have a lemon or dud. This time it was my turn. I gave it three eggs because if it had not died on me, it would got five eggs. I want to give it a one egg for dieing... so three is the average between my feelings.
