5 out of 5 eggsAmazing and durable

Pros: Amazing Graphic card for it's time.

I have had this card for almost 5 years now, and it still manages 3 displays, handles any game I can throw at it, and not once has it failed. It has been the pride and joy in my system, and I will continue to use it until the day it fails.

Cons: It's... big?

Other Thoughts: I have been looking at some other graphic cards lately as an upgrade option, but I know one thing, I won't choose anything other than ASUS cards.

The fact that this card has lasted 5 years, has gone from a single monitor, to 3 monitors, and handles any game I want to play, is nothing short of amazing....

5 out of 5 eggsBroken Cooling Shroud

Pros: I have owned this card since June, 2010. It's connected to a 42" LCD via an HDMI cable, and slotted in an ASUS P5E3 PRO. Never had any problems. Updates well, and renders great. It's a backup computer, so in that time I have only turned it on less than 20 times. Basically, just to keep the hardware and software udated. I can't take off an egg, because I am running it without the fan and fan shroud. But it would be nice to have it back on.

Cons: I would not have sent in a review, being as old as it is, but some of you may have had the same problem as I just found. Yesterday I took a peek inside my case and found the cooling shroud laying on top of my power supply. The plastic stand-offs which the four screws hold the shroud in place all broke. It took some time to find the tiny little screws, one which was in my power supply.

Other Thoughts: I am sure my broken cooling shroud is not the only broken one out there. Like I mentioned, this computer rarely gets used, so it's never jostled enough to make something break. I had envisioned ASUS already aware of this problem, and has a stock-pile of cooling shrouds standing by for replacement. Is that too much of a holiday wish?

3 out of 5 eggsDo not buy open box!

Pros: Great Card, good price

Cons: Doesn't have all the bells and whistles but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I have two of these cards, first one I bought brand new and it works great. Second card I recently purchased as an opened box item from newegg and I must say I am disapointed. The card died not more than 10 days after the warranty expired. I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for this hassle, I should have known better because the card smelled funny when I bought it... like it was burnt right out of the package. NewEgg you got me on this one...

1 out of 5 eggsBeware of ASUS

Pros: newegg rocks, fast shipping, helpful

Cons: Beware of all Asus products. Video card failed after 3months an I spent the next 3.5months trying to get card repaired/returned to me. They don't contact you about anything, keep you aware of problems, nothing. Contacted BBB and filed a complaint, you should see their recent history. Company use to be the best but now customer service and productivity is sub par, and this is coming from someone who only ever bought Asus (MB's, Video cards, Dvdroms etc)

Other Thoughts: If you are buying a product and Asus has that item that costs alil less, Buy the more exspensive other brand. In the long run it will actually save you time and money and a whole lot of stress buying a different companies product.

4 out of 5 eggsSmooth Quiet and Cool

Pros: It is quiet runs cool 32C when I max it out. At 1920x1080 it does not even break a sweat running Milkdrop v2.23 at 60fps

Cons: None.Oher than it does not know what my monitor is capable of. Text and video are unclear. I may have to buy a new monitor.

Other Thoughts: I use a Philips 23" HDTV 720p as my monitor running at 32 Bpp 1280x720 games are clear as a bell video and color settings still need adjusting as it refuses to accept 1360x768 over all Good buy for what it is capable of.

5 out of 5 eggsASUS for life.

Pros: If you buying ASUS you know your getting top shelf quality.
Flawless Install. Clean/Simple design. Nice metal rail running near the top of the card to help press it in place. Runs everything flawlessly.

Cons: Not a con. Just a note: This card is long and the power cords go at the end so it ends up about a foot long. Just make sure you have the room.

Other Thoughts: Build:
Thermaltake Armor A60 AMD LEO Edition
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB DDR3 1600
ASUS EAH5830 Radeon HD 5830 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SATA 2(SSD) x2 in Raid 0
Thermaltake TR-800P TR2 BRONZE 800W
COOLER MASTER V8 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler

Super flawless build. Not one problem.

1 out of 5 eggs*rap card

Pros: It worked at one point... for 3-4 months.

Cons: Three Words: Asus Customer Service. After 2 weeks of giving them e-mail after e-mail of every little part, piece, serial number, etc... of my entire system they finally allowed me to send it in for RMA. Sent the package as request, Tracked it, I know it was delivered to their address on the 25th. Checked the RMA status of their website. The 25th -26th (ish), RMA status was not yet received. 28th and today, NO such case with that RMA number... Yeah. I would avoid all asus products.

1 out of 5 eggsAsus warranty is no good

Pros: when it was working it was great

Cons: Used card for 80 days and then it started to get lines all thru my screen. Contacted Asus about my card failure got RMA issued.. waited for new card for a 3 weeks and still nothing sent. Contacted Asus spoke with Brian, Troy and Terry L at the (812)282-2787 phone number and all they did was hang up on me, avoid my calls and lie to me. Watch out for Asus they do not honor their warranty

Other Thoughts: In the past I have bought Asus with my motherboards and cards.. never had a problem till i needed one replaced then I see how their customer service is

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice card

Pros: This card is part of my first computer build, made it about 3 months ago. It was a pain to try to get installed, but then again I was pretty inexperienced and this happens to be a rather small card, believe it or not. I have had 0 issues with this card the whole time I've had my PC and everything I throw at my rig, it handles with 60+ framerates. (WoW, MW2/Bops, ME2)

Cons: None, except for the fact I never get to see my cool video card anymore :( seeing as it's hidden within my case.

Other Thoughts: My rig is:
Cooler master HAF 932
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz
Kingston ValueRAM 4GB DDR3
(this baby ;))
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5 TB HDD
ASUS M4A89GTD Motherboard
