5 out of 5 eggsTime to say goodbye to these beauties

Pros: Everyone that has read the reviews from this card knows the pros, no need to get into this again.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: The time has come to upgrade but only because games get more demanding. I had to get rid of both my 5850 direct CU's in order to buy a single GTX 570 direct CU and to be honest I miss my 5850's. So efficient, so cold even under load. I doubt AMD/ASUS will ever make a GPU as nice as the 5850 direct CU, it is just a masterpiece that can hit 1 GHZ easily with a voltage bump and still maintain an amazing load temp. I actually shed a tear when I sold them off to a fellow friend. The 5850 direct CU will never be forgotten, Asus did a superb job and continues to surprise me every time I buy a direct CU product.

5 out of 5 eggs2 years and counting...

Pros: Been using 2 of these gems since they came out. Each card can individually do 1Ghz and still keep temps under 65c @ 1.244v. Easy to remove the cooler and re-paste the GPU. In CF they overclock pretty well and and barely put out any heat, something that amazes me because these cards release all the heat into the case yet nothing seems affected.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: I paid a good penny when these came out so I do not plan to upgrade anytime soon. These cards are used primarily for BF3 @ 1080p. Wish I had $$ to buy a 7950 DC2T, kinda addicted to the Direct CU family.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat build quality, low price

Pros: Fantastic build quality, runs quiet, dissipates heat very efficiently, doesn't use full PCI-e form factor, overclocks high (910+ MHz clock -- I've purchased 8 of these, highest I could get was 940 MHz clock stable). Is competitively priced (was cheapest when I bought using MIR while active) which is pretty incredible considering how superior it is to the Visiontek cards I purchased and then sent back.

Cons: Not a single one. Extremely pleased with this purchase.

Other Thoughts: Always a worry-free experience with Newegg, even when the manufacturer or I goof up.

1 out of 5 eggsI didnt pay the no wait

Pros: I didnt pay for the no wait.

Cons: I didnt get my rebate. Im just a normal person. I bought a msi 790gtx motherboard, a 5850 asus for a wopping 250 dollers(lame), a his 1000watt power supply. I just want the 30 dollers that was promised. I never got my rebate pal.

Other Thoughts: Is overclocked to 900mhz a 30% increase? I got a bunk chip also

5 out of 5 eggsbang for buck

Pros: i have no idea what ur talknigabout the rebate either ur working for a different company or ur working for a different company.. i paid 3 dollars for the no wait rebate and it came a bit later than i expected but it came..

note if ur game crashes dont blame on ati or asus
get latest drivers with c++ 2005 redistributable and x64 2010 c++
get latest patch for ur games..
if ur deciding between the 5850 and 6850 get this extra 7-10 fps :)
decent oc at 815mhz
ables to play crysis around 35-40 fps very high 4x aa
plays DA2 4x aa very high at 35fps
EXtreme BANG for ur buck
quiet under low load
Decently loud under gaming quieter than xbox 360.. maybe if xbox 360 was like 50dba this is like 37-40 dba under extreme high load

Cons: none really
gets bit high temped at idle at 65f ambient and above but the price and performance pretty much cancels it out

Other Thoughts: asus should put arctic silver not low price thermal grease?

1 out of 5 eggsRebate is a lie

Pros: Its better than anything ive had before.

Cons: The only reason why I bought this card was to get the 30 doller rebate. I sent it out a week after I purchased the card for 250 dollers. I cut my box up for the rebate and sent it out with the asus4myrebate form in the mail. Its been like 3-4 months. no rebate. Thanks asus you scammers.I photoed the barcode before I sent it out. so I still got the proof of purchase. I only got 900mhz stable on the core. Buy the 6870 its the better deal. kiss my bumb asus. Im going with gigabyte next time.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible experience

Pros: They might make nice paperweights

Cons: I install these cards and try to boot and I get a steady beep with the 3 beep vga failure signal. I bought 2 of them to run in crossfire mode but can't get either to work in any of the 3 computers I own. I RMA'd them to New Egg to get them replaced (BTW you have to pay to ship the parts the sent you that don't work) and just received 2 more. Not only do I get the same errors now but neither card that was reshipped is new. They both showed signs of having been opened somewhere else with one missing a spring that is there to hold the heatsink against the processor.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: I have purchased many items from Newegg and I have not been let down. Excellent service hands down....Now for the card. Had it since March 2010. Using Smart Doctor and CCC Overdrive together to overclock (At my own risk). I had it clocked 1000/5200 @ 3.49v playing Black Ops tonight. 1600x900 Temp 44-45. Never had a problem with a driver. I have replaced the stock thermal paste with Tuniq. Good stuff too. Thinking of getting another 5850 and an Asus GTX 460 for Physx to fill my other PCI slots.

Cons: None
