3 out of 5 eggsProblems...

Pros: Works well when it works!

Cons: Bought it in January 2011. Installed it in a new system with WIN 7 64-bits. Lasted for 1 week. RMAed. Received the same card back. Installed the latest driver 275.33 from www.nvidia.com. It worked for two weeks. It stopped working again. Now I have to RMA it again.... I'm losing productivity by not having this computer!

Other Thoughts: Will post more later...

5 out of 5 eggsBeast Mode ON

Pros: - Idles at 25C, 50C under load. Perfect temps for a gaming card.

- Factory overclocked.

- DESTROYS everything I throw at it in 1080p: Bad Company 2, Borderlands, Civilization 5, NFS Shift 2, Total War Shogun 2, GTA4. You name it, this runs it. Flawlessly.

- Awesome design, I love the color and racing stripes.

Cons: ASUS SmartDoctor is horrible.

It kept the card cooler by a few degrees overall (20-23C idle, 45-50C load), BUT it drastically reduced performance in games, creating all sorts of problems, from microstuttering to missing textures to horribly low FPS even in 2+ years old games. Uninstalling this software fixed all my GPU issues.

I do not recommend installing anything that comes in the box with this GPU. Just put the card in, google and install the latest nvidia drivers, and have fun.

Other Thoughts: Best GPU I've ever purchased. Extremely glad I went with this and not EVGA, MSI or any other 460 alternatives. THIS IS THE BEST PRICE/PERFORMANCE 1GB GTX460 AVAILABLE.

4 out of 5 eggsgood card

Pros: Good performance for the buck and nice temps

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: When I ordered this it said it came with a free game. Later that day it was out of stock and the free game post was removed from the product. I never did get anything about the game, kind of shady. Very good service just dont let rebates or free items influence one product over another.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Amazing Quality. This thing is a beast!
I did a lot of research on graphics cards, comparting prices, quality, and everything to reach performance needs. For the price this card exceeds my expectations tenfold(no joke!)

Cons: Honestly....none.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's like I unleashed a panther...

Pros: This card delivers... I went from a Geforce 250 to this behemoth and I am not looking back. I went from about 5fps min & 70 fps max in WoW to an astonishing 40 fps min & 210 fps max (And I play in full ultra 1440 x 900)! The packaging for this equipment was fantastic and documentation was very clear.

Cons: Not a con for me... but when this sucker gets going @ load, it takes off! When I launch any app in fullscreen it pushes hard but maintains great cooling as well.

Other Thoughts: This is a very long card... installing this next to my Ultra Chilltec and my very tall G-skill memory was at first very scary, but everything fit like a glove! I did remove the heatsink and apply my own thermal paste and without worry of voiding warranty since the heatsink is easily removed and replaced.

5 out of 5 eggsstumpy II

Pros: Got the RMA replacement for the original - and this one works great. Problem with first ones was the fan wouldn't ever speed up. On the replacement, the fan speeds up and cools the card down just like it should.

Cons: Mostly a nit - at its top speed (4th tier in the 4-tier fan/temp settings) it is pretty loud. But, since I have my gaming headset on when that happens, its really not an issue.

Other Thoughts: This experience illustrates why newegg is THE place for online tech purchases - whatever was wrong with the original card, newegg made it right.

Pros: Excellent price to performance
Runs any game out very well
26 degrees idle 50 load
Very quite
Stable
No visual artifacts

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: No I don't have a high performance case. It's still nice and cool no matter how long I run under full load. I just have 1 8cm back fan. XD

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Rippin fast for the $. No better bang for your buck honestly.

Cons: Ummmm.... only comes with one in a box? Ohh and the box art is poor. Ya, don't forget that.

Other Thoughts: My laptop (ati hd 3400) couldn't play 1080p or most game before it died. Building a new desktop and currently using just a core duo 2 with this card till the new parts also come in. The pc and laptop are more or less the same minus the VGA cards. the 460 laughs at 1080p and my games (metro 2033 ect..) just get enough RAM.

5 out of 5 eggscool and smooth

Pros: Runs cool, idles at 28*, peaks at 54* while gaming. That heatsink is a sweet peice. Runs rfactor at max settings easy, but I don't run many games that really tax the GPU. Not sure why anyone is getting temp issues..... USE AFTERBURNER!

Cons: Expensive, but all 1gb 460's seem to be. Plus, the heatsink would be an extra $50 or so if you added it anyway. Guess it's about right. Didn't bump my 3dMark score as much as I'd have thought, but it's an improvement none-the-less. Didn't need the free games either, but I will figure out what to do with them. I wish the $20 rebate was just an instant discount. I thought I was going to have to RMA, but see other thoughts.....

Other Thoughts: I thought I had a dud. It didn't increase my 3dMark score at first, and I had to increase the voltage to keep it from locking up. After contacting Newegg to RMA, I thought I would try some last ditch efforts first. Putting in my second rig, it smoked my primary system. Also, 3dMark gave me some weird errors trying to benchmark, so it was time to reinstall Windows. After that, it kicked up my score by a bunch.....without bumping up voltage or overclocking. I now have it OC'd to 800/1600, synced, and runs pretty nice. I came from a 9800gtx+ that I never had issues with, and 3dMark scores went from 14,5xx to 18,8xx. Not as much as I'd expect, but that 9800 was ahead of it's time. I'm also using MSI Afterburner to control OC and fan speed. If your temps are getting to 40ish, have that fan set to run. It will only hit high speeds when the temps are up, and if you're gaming you won't hear it anyway. Idleing it runs 28*, I'm not kidding. My 9800 ran about 37*.
