Pros: looks cheap price after rebate, but you will never get the rebate

Cons: poor quality, I bought 2 cards, both died after a few weeks. Asus is a rebate scammer, you will never receive the rebates.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple install, huge improvement, quiet

Pros: Fan is quiet, card outputs 1080p with audio through HDMI using onboard controller, noticeable improvement over the XFX 8600 GT DDR3 card I had.

Cons: None worth mentioning other than slow rebate processing turnaround from ASUS.

Other Thoughts: I'm really pleased with this card. It's quiet and it does exactly what I need it to, and with the rebate, the price couldn't be beaten. I'm able to kick HD audio out through HDMI to my tv, and to use my LCD monitor through DVI as well. I don't game so I can't comment on that quality, but for Home theater use and general computing, this card has been excellent for me, and easy on the pocket.

5 out of 5 eggsSay What?

Pros: OK, I just bought this card (off of Craigslist for $30) and I can tell you, this card is awesome! Don't listen to what these m0r0ns are saying, I installed it and yes it's loud when I first turn it on but after 10 seconds, it can't be heard from my other fans. I have a quiet system so this thing is great for the size of the fan. Even at max speed it's still not as loud as my 4650 or 9800gt were at throttled speed.

Also, if you're buying this for an HTPC...obviously when you're using it you don't have to worry about the noise, now do you??? Unless you only listen to movies and shows at 1% volume or something like that. So for those complaining that you can't use it in an HTPC obviously don't know what you're talking about.

Another thing, I've been using ATI cards for about 6 years now and I have NEVER, I repeat NEVER had one issue with their drivers. Before you install it, first you must uninstall your last drivers. Then you put the card in, start it up, and ALWAYS download the -

Cons: latest drivers from the website.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: WEI 6.7, low power consumption, 1GB ddr3, DX11...all for $30, deal.

Like others have said, this is not a "Gaming" card but will handle that task very nicely. This replaced my integrated HD4200 graphics (5.4, 4.4) and the difference is night and day. I'm a casual gamer and this works great for me. I can play Call of Duty World at War completely maxed out at 720p.

AMD Phenom II x6 1075T
MSI 785 Mobo
2GB Corsair XMS2 800MHz
Corsair GS600 600 Watt PSU
And of course, this amazing video card.

2 out of 5 eggsreviewVcard

Pros: Installs easily. Low profile

Cons: 1. Does not work under Linux. Very dissappointing. I was looking forward
to trying an ATI card after 3 or4 nvidia types, but now I will go back to
nvidia. (Yes, I uploaded and installed the correct Linux driver)

2. In Windows the "Smart Doc" is difficult to get rid of on bootup.

3 out of 5 eggsLOUD

Pros: Good price, cool looking, it seemed to work well enough.

Cons: I've never had a graphics card with a fan before but figured the sound from such a small fan couldn't be worth worrying about, right? WRONG. This this is LOUD! When I first started up the PC I figured it was a combination of all the fans running in the box. But when I pulled out the power to the fan on the 5550, everything else in the box was totally silent. Since I'm using this machine for audio production and it's going to be in the same room I track in, it's simply unacceptable. I'm sending it back to Newegg.

Other Thoughts: I went with the HIS H545H1G instead. So far so good. It's cheaper and FANLESS!

2 out of 5 eggsNot a fun experience.

Pros: Affordable WEI of 6.7. Quiet.
Low power consumption due to DDR3.

Cons: Driver install on Win 7x64 was a pain - failure after failure.
Running DirectX 10 (not 11) and at 1900x1080 (not 2560x1600).

Other Thoughts: Wasn't worth the time to get it running.

5 out of 5 eggsnew card

Pros: it works as advertised, my PC looks better with the new GPU. i"m not a hard core gaming. i mostly use it for media and video editing

Cons: none at all, I'm surprise it doesn't overheat.

Other Thoughts: is better to download the drivers from the AMD website. they are up to date

2 out of 5 eggsAsus 5550 = Terrible; Newegg = Awesome

Pros: Low profile, Newegg service

Cons: This card is LOUD, and high-pitched as well. It was only $20 after two rebates, so I thought I'd keep it for a system tucked away where I couldn't hear it as much. So I cut the UPC off for the rebate, and the card died that night. I tore the PC apart, put in another card, and it worked perfectly. Thankfully Newegg let me return this dud anyway with the UPC in the box, and I'll get a refund. Thanks Newegg!

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this card - it doesn't perform better than other LP cards, or cost less, but it's louder. What was ASUS thinking?

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Upgrade for an aging Dell GX280 P4 3.2 1.5G memory, factory 250W power supply. No increase in noticeable fan noise, seems to work well so far. Didn't use included drivers or software, downloaded latest directly from website. Took a couple trys to get drivers to install smoothly, nothing terrible.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Plan to upgrade power supply in near future, but so far working fine with original 250W.
