1 out of 5 eggsDied 1 year after the warranty ran out.

Pros: Awesome card (I bought 2 of them) one was this one, and one was the same card by PNY. Fast, stable, and reliable.....well...kinda.

Cons: The Asus one failed 4 years after purchase. The PNY one is still working fine after 3.

Other Thoughts: I invested over $1200 in these video cards.....and one just fails out of the blue......

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent performance in SLI...

Pros: This card is simply amazing. Runs at about 60C idle with SLI. Running 1090t, 16GB DDR3, 2 60 GB SSDs in RAID 0, 2 500GB 7200 RPM platter drives in RAID 0, and two of these in SLI. 78C under max load. Single card gives a WEI of 7.9. Two, well that just blows anything out of the water. Running BF:BC2 with 80-120 FPS everything maxed using 3D Vision. Right around 120 FPS with 3D Vision enabled. Anything I throw at this thing just cant stand up. Never seen anything look so clean and stutter free. Liguid cooling is a good idea for SLI, just get a reservoir, tubing, adapters, coolant, and a pump. Recommend dual link tubing for a vid card setup, but it will run cool for long periods of time. Renders Aftereffects like Cinebench... no time at all.

Cons: None here. The only thing you may run into is temp issues if you dont space these guys and use the stock coolers. This is probably where the other user had issues with the Antec 1200 W PSU. I have this same power supply and dont have any problems, but I have liquid cooling and my cards have a PCI slot between them. Did have overheat issues with a GTX 480 on this rig when it was seated close to the PSU. This was due to restrictive airflow and these guys need some room to breathe. GTX 580 runs cooler than a 480, so no big issues here. Again, a great product from ASUS. These things overclock like a champ. Don't push your memory clocks too much though, you dont really need to.

Other Thoughts: Considering upgrading to an EVGA SR2 with dual 990x i7s, in order to get 2 more of these. Also, I like the idea of 48GB of RAM, 24 GB per CPU. That'd be nice.

5 out of 5 eggsBut can it run Crysis?

Pros: Ridiculously powerful, will make your tech literate friends green with envy

Cons: Ridiculously huge, get's pretty really hot, really fast without proper air flow

Other Thoughts: This card laughs in the face of recommended system requirements. Do you want to run Crysis on max settings at great resolution? Anti-aliasing and all that jazz? Well thats child's play for this card. You will be able to play any demanding game on the market with no problem.

Just make sure your computer has wonderful air flow and that your environment isn't too hot. My pc is situated right under my window. At night I crack the window open wide and let the cold winter air keep it from getting hot at all while its under heavy load. This also helps to immerse you in games like Metro 2033. Under this condition, it never goes above 60 Celsius.

On much less demanding games, like Assassin's Creed 2 or something, you don't really need to worry about the temps one bit.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Graphics Card

Pros: First I need to make a comment about all of asus products that I have bought thus far. Their product care, and the way they ship all of their items is by far the best out of any manufacturer I have delt with. So on to the card. This thing is a workhorse. It takes whatever you throw at it and keeps asking for more. Its extremely quite and much smaller compared to most video cards of this calibre.

Cons: Other than the high price I cannot honestly see one

Other Thoughts: If you can afford to drop the money on this card.. I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: driver issues so far.....seems like a very stable and reliable card.

Cons: none that I can think of other than it is kind of expensive.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded to this from 2 5770's in crossfire and I have noticed a huge performance boost. My 2 5770's gave me good fps but I was tired of driver issues and my minimum fps dropping too low in some instances. In my opinion minimum fps is one of the most important benchmarks!

3 out of 5 eggsWhy Switch

Pros: Easily installs and configures. Asus does well on packaging and product design

Cons: Slower than a 5870 and studders - Strictly on Black Ops
Overheats, in a Antel 1200.

Other Thoughts: I run an AMD 1100T with (4) SSD's in Raid 0 configuration. With my ATI 5870 I was first in a map everytime. When I swithed to this card I completly reloaded the system just to be sure, nothing was left behind to cause problems.

This card in the same configuration and al drivers updated gave me a couple seconds before the map started, if there were 6 players in. It seemed smooth and fast on the maps, but it hiccuped alot, FPS was constant at 60. The 5870 was constant at 91. Maybe if I buld an Intell Xtreme machine Ill try it again, but I doubt it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Great packaging including cap on edge connector
Good looking
FAST FAST FAST (did I mention it's fast..) 7.9 on Win 7
Quiet when just doing normal stuff

Cons: cost, but it's new so that's no surprise.

Other Thoughts: Needs three six pin power connections to get it running. Check your power supply before you buy one. Make sure they are six pin and not 4 or someting else.

Drivers from the Nvidia site install in no time and work great.

Pros: Excelent Temps, easy overclock, i would recommend MSI After burner

Cons: Price...

Other Thoughts: Consider at least a PSU of 850W certified for a SLI configuration...

5 out of 5 eggsa monster of a card

Pros: ASUS GTX580 card came in perfect condition. ASUS package safely protects the 4lb card within a static protection bag and cushioning. Card runs fast and hot - you will not be disappointed with its performance. Backed by nVidia GTX580 chipset.

Cons: cost - but you do get what you pay for in this product.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's shipping packaging was well done - and shipping was fast - I received it the next day after waiting three weeks for another vendor to ship the product before cancelling it and giving Newegg a try - Newegg just earned a new customer!

5 out of 5 eggsgreen team's juggernaut (for now)

Pros: The other reviews are spot on about this being one wicked fast single GPU card.

The GTX 580 readily overclocks with the reference air cooling. With an ambient temperature of 68F this one is currently running at an Engine speed of 878Mhz, Memory @ 4380 MHz QDR without any major issues. This combo in conjunction with an overclocked AMD Phenom II X6 nailed down a 28.5k & change on 3dMark Vantage [GPU was 24.1k].

Cons: If you're overclocking, which certainly most people will, I'd suggest going straight to the manual fan control instead of the default automatic mode. Under this mode the core temperature drops like a rock.

Other Thoughts: I'm currently using the Asus GTX 580 with the Asus Crosshair IV Extreme motherboard. To take advantage of the Lucid HydraLogix chipset a single GPU card is required -- fortunately the Asus GTX580 fits the bill and then some.

If you're spending this much on a GPU just don't go cheap on the power supply.

I didn't bother trying the included GTX 580 drivers & instead headed straight to nVidia for the latest build.
