4 out of 5 eggsA well working GPU

Pros: I have owned this GPU this 2011 and it still power houses on. I use Lightroom, Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro with it and have never encountered errors from the GPU (My insufficient RAM, though...)

I have mined cryptocoins with it, I have had it do science data processing, pushing it to its limits, without problem.

Cons: My one issue is that the fans get Noisy.
I have Speed Fan, and at 100%, the fans make an unbelievable amount of noise. I also find it tends to make the GPU heat up.

Which is quite nice, as I have noticed the optimal fan speed (Where you don't notice it above the CPU and case fans) is 35-40%, and I have never had it overheat at those speeds.

- relatively quiet. My cpu cooler is louder.
- made by asus
- nice clock speed.
- six displayport connectors

Cons: - does not come with displayport cables.
- does not come with displayport adapters.

Other Thoughts: Have not tried eyefinity yet.

1 out of 5 eggsRead the fine print!!

Pros: This a great card and I really regret not having read the fine print. To those that read this, please do your reading. I took advantage of the rebate offer after installing the card and began using my new card. The display ports all worked as they should. There a 4 display ports and two DVI ports. Upon adding another DVI monitor to the card that is when my problems began. The port did not work. Moved to the next port and all was ok. I then decided to get the card replaced with one that had all functional ports.
I have found that after sending for the rebate, the option for RMA is no longer available. Sounds a little deceptive to me. Newegg sent an E Mail telling me that I should make sure the card works before sending in the rebate form. It seems to me that the manufacturer should see that the product is fully funtional. Oh well! Read the fine print. I am still looking for that fine print. Good luck!

Cons: The only con I have is the rebate process. Do not take advantage of the rebate offer! I did and am not a happy camper! Not sure what to do with this great card that I received with a faulty DVI port. The DP ports are ok. Did not find out the DVI port was bad until after I sent in for my rebate. This requires removing the UPC code lable from the box. I was told to make sure my product works before taking advantage of the rebate offer. Newegg was polite, but not helpful.

Other Thoughts: Why are rebates so deceptive? Should be a better way to achieve the same results without navigating through a mine field! Live and learn.

5 out of 5 eggsCrank it up

Pros: I mainly play BC2 and BF3 so I set the video default to high. Play is smooth but I keep forgetting to check the frame rate because fun seems to take over.

Cons: Ran hot at 63c and took a long time to cool down until I changed the setting in ASUS Doctor software to have the fans cycle up based on 4 settings. It can still get up to 61c.

Other Thoughts: Fans at the lowest settings will hold it at 43c with the ambient temp in my room at 69f. I have an Antec P180 case with 2 exaust fans and 1 input fan. I had to remove the middle drive bay to accomodate the large card. So both HDs and power supply are in the lower isolated section of the case. So the heat sources cooled by the case fans are the DVD, CPU, Memory, Motherboad and video card. Noise is not an issue for me because I always use a headset. i7920 CPU, ASRock X58 Extreme LGA 1366 MB.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Combo of Fast & Quiet

Pros: -Silent at idle (see notes)
-Low temps at idle
-Solidly built

Cons: -Massive: heavy, and takes up 3 slots
-Draws more power at idle than a typical 6970 card (likely due to dual fans).

Other Thoughts: There are a lot of sites to get the 3D performance of this card, and there is usually no argument with this data.
What I find difficult to find out about on the web is the actual noise levels of a given card - this tends to be subjective, or involves testing methods that vary a bit from site to site.
I am deeply interested in quiet computing, while I'm working, so that is really important to me. I can tell you that this card reports 37-39C temperature at idle (in a smallish Silverstone FT01 m-ATX case), and the fans run at 10%.
At that level, it is effectively silent from my perspective - and my machine is set for quiet computing with only a couple of low speed (silent fans). So, if you are concerned about idle noise, this is a great choice.
Note though that above idle, the twin fans definitely spin up, so you'll hear them during heavy 3D games, but that's fine with me. That said, "noise" reviews indicate that this card is actually good under load, compared to other cards.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent graphics card

Pros: Okay so pros- Speedy graphics with excellent texture and never a problem so far. Running SC2 is a breeze of course even on ultra, at least for campaign. I have yet to get into a heavy match online so we'll see how that goes. I do know that during campaign if you get overwhelming numbers of units on the screen performing actions then itll get a little bogged down.

Cons: I cant really think of any. It runs cool and the smart doctor system allows for ultra easy overclocking, and temperature monitoring. maybe the size? But i have a Thermaltake Level 10GT with liquid cooling soo size isnt a problem for me. maybe that it doesnt have hands to shine your shoes with?

Other Thoughts: it does lack a little visual appeal as it does get installed "upside down". other than that its bad***.

5 out of 5 eggsMonster

Pros: Plays anything i throw at it. Stays cool with the new cooling system. Nice Built! Beautiful card. Ok on the noise level.

Cons: It's freaking huge!!!!!! make sure you have enough room for it. Have an Antec P180, and had to move my HDD away in order to fit this monster. Will be a very hard task to Crossfire this beauty (3 expansion slot required on the back). Would of been nice to receive some cables with the vid card(Display port, DVI, etc...)

Other Thoughts: n/a

4 out of 5 eggsBeasts

Pros: Great value, bang for buck factor, supposedly cools well

Cons: Faulty Crossfire Bridge, annoying fans

Other Thoughts: Two of these are beast together. The one on top however heats up notably higher because there isn't much distance between the top and bottom cards.

Trying to figure out a way to have the bottom one be my main card because it can breath better but I can't see anything before the windows login screen… And even then the top one is doing all the work.

One of the crossfire bridge ribbons was faulty, caused crazy horizontal lines and light strobing.

5 out of 5 eggsWHAT A MONSTER!

Pros: I now play on maxed settings on every game I own and haven't even seen it stutter. The fans are so efficient that I never hear them spin up, but I also run it in a very well ventilated Xaser VI.

I'm so happy with this card! Easy install and included DVI to HDMI was a nice bonus too.

Cons: Size matters. I have an EVGA X58 Classified E-ATX mobo and it's nearly the same length, so be aware of your dimensions and any conflicts you may have with connections on your own mobo. MEASURE!

Price...but you definitely get what you pay for with this card. I just wish I could've bought two at the same time.

Other Thoughts: I hear there are some compatibility issues with Crossfiring this card...and that it must be the same model of ASUS card. This isn't a problem for my setup, but I will need an extended Crossfire bridge to do so (not hard to find), as the included bridges would be one slot too short.

I haven't done any overclocking with this card, but I haven't deemed it necessary yet either. It runs every game I own on MAX settings, so I'll have to wait for the next set of games to come out to really push this card.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a difference two generations make

Pros: Cranked graphics. All the time. I've seen the fps drop to about 20 fps once. Basically, there isn't a game out there that can truly push this beast to its limits. It seems to run cool and relatively quiet.

Cons: It is rather large. I set my old 4870 beside it to compare, and it was completely dwarfed by this 6970 DCII card.

Other Thoughts: I had been planning to wait for the HD 79xx because I had worried about this series after hearing that they hadn't been able to manufacture at the intended fabrication size, and stuck with the 40nm of the previous card. At this point, I'm more than happy that I didn't wait. Very impressed with this card.
