The ASUS GTX550 Ti DirectCU graphics card offers superior DirectX 11 performance in its class and solid tessellation performance by providing the graphics horsepower and video bandwidth needed to experience games in high resolution. At the heart are 192 CUDA cores, 192-bit 1GB GDDR5 graphics memory along with a refined design offering substantial increase in performance while running cooler and quieter than previous generation GTS 450 GPU.

Factory overclocked to 910MHz, the ASUS GTX550 Ti DirectCU ensures you a better out of the box gaming experience. Award-winning DirectCU cooling design has all-copper heatpipes touch the GPU core directly to improve heat transference, delivering up to 20% cooler operation than reference designs under full load. Coupled with ASUS Super Alloy Power VRM delivery technology used in chokes, capacitors, and MOSFETs, the ASUS GTX550 Ti DirectCU graphics card performs better, runs more stable and cooler, and lasts longer! Rounding out the experience is support for NVIDIA 3D Vision, NVIDIA Surround, PhysX and SLI technologies for an eye-popping, immersive 3D performance in games and movies.

  • newegg DirectCU Precision mounted DirectCU copper heatpipes are in direct contact with the GPU for rapid heat dissipation. The result is 20% cooler under full load and quieter in idle.
  • newegg Super Alloy Power Super Alloy Power technology uses special alloy formula in critical power delivery components like chokes, capacitors, POSCAPs and MOSFETs for a 15% performance boost, 35°C cooler operation and 2.5 times longer lifespan when compared to reference designs.
  • newegg Voltage Tweak Exclusive ASUS Voltage Tweak technology makes it easy for you to increase voltages to the GPU core, video memory and board to raise card speeds by up to 50% faster - a major advantage much sought after by hardcore gamers.
  • newegg Microsoft DirectX 11 Support DirectX 11 GPU with Shader Model 5.0 support designed for ultra high performance in the new API’s key graphics feature, GPU-accelerated tessellation.
  • newegg NVIDIA PhysX Technology Full support for NVIDIA PhysX technology enables a totally new class of physical gaming interaction for a more dynamic and realistic experience with GeForce.
  • newegg NVIDIA 3D Vision, 3D Vision Surround & 2-Way SLI Ready NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. Expand your games across three displays in full stereoscopic 3D for the ultimate “inside the game” experience with the power of NVIDIA 3D Vision and SLI technologies. NVIDIA Surround also supports triple screen gaming with non-stereo displays.

4 out of 5 eggsGTX 550 Ti

Pros: Card works great for what it is. Plays Battlefield 3 with no problems, along with other games like it. The card does stay very cool under loads just as they said it would. You can play games on high to ultra setting and still get a good 30+ FPS.

Cons: You can tell when the fan speeds up for sure, but my computer is right next to me on the desktop. Using the ASUS SmartDoctor with fan mode on smart cooling. Really not a big con being that it really does keep the card cool.

Other Thoughts: I have always owned amd products in most all my computers. After looking into the nvidia products I said what the hell let me try them out for a change. Well I am sold on what these cards really can do. I am building a new computer setup threw Newegg and will be going with Intel and nvidia. I put this card in a computer I got from dell to upgrade from a AMD 5670, and boy did it make a difference. I have done a lot of researching on the web and all the bench marks will show how this card will perform.

5 out of 5 eggsReview

Pros: Great price, ability to use multiple ports.

Cons: none, other than having to manually change the sound output location if the HDMI port is used. i'm not down-egging for that.

Other Thoughts: I have this card running a DVI monitor and an HDMI TV. the hdmi cable hijacks the audio. if the TV isn't being used, i have to manually change the default playback device to the desktop speakers. not a big deal for such great performance and picture quality.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card for the price

Pros: Very fast card. Currently playing Borderlands 2 with highest settings with no problems. Also handled Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 with ultra setting very well. Also, it's a very quiet card that stays cool. Windows experience index put both graphics categories at 7.4

Cons: Not a keplar gpu. Framerate drops in some games with a tone going on.

Other Thoughts: For the $120 price tag, you can't do any better. Absolute best bang for your buck.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Much faster than my previous card, had 92/96 cuda. It works faster, game looks better. Playing skyrim, everything is max setting, looks great.

Cons: $20 rebate seems like a scam, trying it anyway. You have to register, then print out a form, then mail the form with a copy of the packing slip and the actual serial code on the box to some place in California, instruction includes cutting out the label and applying to the envelope, then waiting 8 weeks to have a $20 american express gift card sent back, but wait, for a rush delivery you can get a $18 card in 5-7 days. This isn't the 90s, why do i have to mail out anything? All this rebate seems to be for is fishing personal information. Why not send the money to my paypal account?

Other Thoughts: Duke Nukem forever requires a steam account- from within steam goto games then active a product on steam, then enter that number that comes on the card. Once the game is registered, browse around on the menus till you see duke nukem and click play. . it will then download.

Pros: great what can i say first time i ever bought a gpu this thing was what i expected amazing. with my specs i can play crysis 2 on ultra with 35 fps. never played a game on ultra before

Cons: duke nukem is worthless. they should stop giving it out with the card considering that no one will play it anyway.
