5 out of 5 eggsTOTAL BEAST (If you can find one)

Pros: Dual 580 Performance!! It smashes any GPU optimized game I throw at it at better than 60fps avg...
Looks AWESOME!!!
ASUS ROG Quality and Build

Cons: Over 3 years OLD now!!
Driver support is no more... (Using 301.42)
Power Consumption - 3 8 PIN connectors

Other Thoughts: Bought this card brand new from a tester (#567 of 999) LOVE IT!!! If you can find one... Was disappointed with the MARS 760 version... Hoping Asus ups their game again for the next MARS card Dual 980's on same kind of PCB like the MARS II and you will have another customer for sure!!!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing card!

Pros: Incredible speed and graphics quality! Plays BF3 @ 1920 x 1200, all settings at Ultra, between 60 @ 130 fps!
Dual oversize fans + aluminum frame + backcover
Low temps, even under load! (Never exceeds 60c, even under 100% load)
Single-slot SLI

Cons: Huge size (takes up 3 slots - 2 would have been better if possible) + height (height could interfere with case's side fans)
Initial cost is very high (got mine used for significantly lower price)

Other Thoughts: i7 3770 @ 4.6 ghz
Asus ROG Maximus V Extreme motherboard
Asus ROG Mars ii (#40 of 999) primary display
EVGA Gtx 570 HD 1.2gb - dedicated to PhysX - secondary display
Vertex 4 128gb Sata6 SSD - boot + OS
WD Caviar Black 2tb Sata 6 HDD - storage
CoolMax 1200w PSU
CoolerMaster HAF 932

5 out of 5 eggsStill the best on the market

Pros: + Factory cooling system works like a charm, and very quiet, comparing to ALL other (except liquid cooling)
+ Never had any problems with drivers (unlike GeForce, or even non-Asus NVidia)
+ Performance is super-duper! Still, after about 2 years, this card beats all others on the market!
+ It is so beautiful!

Cons: Definitely not for kids with it's price. But it worth its money.

Other Thoughts: The best video card since SVGA was introduced.

And if you have low FPS or crushes in your game with this card... blame game developers. They didn't optimize their kernel, etc. Past year had run tons of games on this video card and on several others at the same time. NEVER had any problems with Asus MARS II, even when others could end up with a blue screen of death. Oh.. and yes, use licensed software and games only. Yes, software and games are expensive.. But this video card is not for kids either.

3 out of 5 eggsRMA BAIT

Pros: Beautiful. Both in appearance and, when it was working, the images it produced.
It was supposed to be the last card I ever bought until the GTX 780 or GTX 880 series will be created in the distant future.
I have no doubt that, IF it had the proper drivers available that it would be the absolute top videocard produced to date.

Cons: Random crashes to a black screen. The drivers on the cd that came with it will not recognize the card as being installed. The drivers on the ASUS site do the same. The available drivers for a GTX 580 in SLi are not correct for the card and produce erratic results. The voltage is too low at stock settings. It won't even post until the voltage is raised by a tiny fraction. During 3DMark 11 tests I found GTX 560's that would score consistently higher.
NO Response from ASUStek Technical Support. I filed a ticket with them on 12/12/2011 and I'm having to RMA it to NewEgg today, 12/28/2011, while I still can. NO Response from the ASUS Forum. NO Help available anywhere at all!

Other Thoughts: If you didn't get to own one of these, count yourself lucky. It could've been great, but, a total lack of any support whatsoever has made it completely worthless.
Try a pair of GTX 580's instead. Not ASUS! You'll be far more satisfied.

4 out of 5 eggsStrong card with diminishing returns.

Pros: Will handle anything, of course.

Cons: This GPU is far beyond any game, so if you're going for gaming, for $500-600 you can get a gpu that will give you similar real-world gaming performance, then 2-3 years from now buy another $500 card that at that point will outperform this one, especially if the Maxwell chipsets come out in 2013.

Other Thoughts: I tested out this card for my employer. This thing is for benchmarking or hardcore folding, or bragging rights. It does all of those things rather well.

For gaming, this is a colossal waste of money unless you have so much cash that you don't know what to do with it and are willing to buy another $1,500 card in 2-3 years. Otherwise, just buy a new $500 card each year.

5 out of 5 eggsBest of the Best

Pros: It is the fastest single graphics card on the market as of now and has a price to match. It is in my opinion the best looking and best designed graphics card on the market. I have #051/999 and the included metal plate signifying the production number is a summary of what you are getting, a top quality product that Asus put a lot of engineering hours into manufacturing

Cons: Weight
It doesn't fit properly in my level 10 case, it is almost flush with the motherboard door and adversely effects the airflow

Other Thoughts: Great card if you have the funds to afford it, otherwise go with three GTX 580's and you will get better performance

5 out of 5 eggsUmmm

Pros: I have #568 of 999 and yes this card is the fastest graphics card for gaming out there! It uses a whopping 525w of power and I have a 1200w PSU. The price for the card is priced way above what its worth. For the price of this thing you can get three GTX 580's but two of em in SLI you could buy a 3-way SLI GTX 580 rig with a i7 970 and still have some cash left over!

Cons: Uses way too much power for just two GTX 580 cores and in SLI using 1050w of power you would have to have either a 1350w or 1500w PSU to even use them with everything else. The price is too much and the card is HEAVY!!!

Other Thoughts: Should just make a power cable for this thing that is 24-pin instead of three seperate 8-pin connectors. Card is great if you have the $$$ and system for it!
