1 out of 5 eggsWorthless

Pros: Not bad at first, handles just about everything.

Cons: If you have 64bit windows, DO NOT BUY. The ATI drivers do not play well and you WILL hate yourself for getting this card. I have a grey screen of death more than once per day now because of horrendous drivers and software from ATI. I don't have the ability to RMA this card; ATI calls it a "small" problem when it effects ~10% of their cards. Not exactly small. The most they do is RMA and it takes forever. Don't do it to yourself.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings Xanza,

If I may, I would like to look into this issue further. When does the grey screen happen? Was it when you played games or video? Please note that you still have an option to go through ASUS for the warranty. When you have the time, please contact me through email, and we can discuss this case further. Within the email, please make sure to include the serial number of the card. Your reference number for this case is 3143418. Thank you.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdated Review/Poor Performance

Pros: - Worked mediocre for about 8 months

Cons: - Card would constantly begin to overheat, I knew it was a passive cooler and I have a corsair 500r case. I have 3 120mm intakes fans and 1 large 240mm intake, and 2 exhaust fans, the temperature in the tower and cpu is always excellent. I realized this is just not such a great card because of the passive cooling. The card began to crash a lot, even in low range games on medium settings, and began to flicker and not display video. This was just a bad model by ASUS.

Other Thoughts: As I always mention, ASUS is one of my favorite brands, I always by their products and appreciate their quality, especially with motherboards, routers and monitors. This was just a poor model, and that is why it most likely was taken out of production early.

Cons: Card is almost a foot long u need a huge case and a non tax board. The card itself is standard it's the heatsink that is the problem for anyone with a non gigantic case

5 out of 5 eggsA bargain

Pros: Fanless, great heatsink(this thing is huge and well built) make sure your case is wide, well packaged(even had a protective strip on the bus connection), cover on heatsink is removeable(easy dust cleaning). Everything about it says quality...

Cons: None other than as stated earlier, make sure you have a wide case to clear the video card heatsink(I had already installed a custom sidewindow in my side cover to clear cpu heatsink so no problem here).

Other Thoughts: I tried to do the easy switch from Nvidia by uninstalling video driver and cleaning the registry... I ended up doing a clean installation of windows xp and the card performed flawlessly. With the current 99 dollar price and the 30 dollar rebate this thing is a bargain.

4 out of 5 eggsWOW #$%@

Pros: -Runs all games thus far on high settings without a hiccup
- Huge heatsink
- great performance

Cons: - WOW #$%@ warning unless you have a superb mid tower case, this card may not fit, it is insanely huge..

- Be careful buying a micro atx board for this card, I bought a intel micro atx and barely got my sata cables around it, it may also block a port pending on how tight your board is, go full ATX with this, to avoid any issues.

Other Thoughts: - Card gets very hot you better have a minimum of a 120mm fan cooling it from the side, and a 120mm from the top wouldn't hurt if your case supports it.

- Also due to its huge size and power you will def want to go minimum 650w power supply on this, my cooler master 500w couldn't handle it. Installed a NRG 750w, plus the cooler master cables were lacking and rubbing around the card due to its huge size when connecting to the board.

-If only they made it sligthly smaller with the same look, it be much better.

- Take all this into consideration before buying this card, as the card itself goes; it is a mean Performer and will handle your gaming well.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for $80 after rebate

Pros: Good card for the price after rebate.

Cons: It really is big, can't close my case because I have a large fan on the case door. Performance is fine for the causual gamer like myself. I get a 7.4 WEI. All I play is Call of Duty games and it's fine. Overclocked to 925/1125MHZ for CPU/MEM. Could potentially go a little higher.

1 out of 5 eggsDVI output is blur

Pros: 0db

Cons: 1. DVI output at resolution > 1920x1080 is blur - my U2711's max resolution is 2560x1440, but now I can only run at 2048x1152 with VGA (already replaced once, so I think it is a common defect of this card)
2. no display port

Other Thoughts: If it wasn't because I wanted to play diablo3 so badly at that time, I would definitely return it.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes everything I needed

Pros: Build a rig for my wife to play GW2. This thing runs it perfect. She loves the almost premium graphics (she doesn't know the difference. We'll see how the rebate process goes, but I'm optimistic. Runs super quiet. Deffinite recommend.

Cons: The heat sink is so big and bulky. It was not quite a problem in my wife's rig but a thinner case might be a problem. It also seemed a bit flimsy from the weight and the corner furthest from PCI and bracket dipped more than I thought it should have, so I placed a small support block on the edge and everything looks fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Great card for the money. It is not a high end gaming card, but for light and moderate gaming it works perfectly. Since it is passively cooled, you will need to make sure your case has good cooling capabilities.

Cons: none, as long as you know what you are buying.

5 out of 5 eggsUps & Downs

Pros: Fast, quiet

Cons: Huge, variable compatibility

Other Thoughts: I bought this mostly to play with bitcoin. My old Nvidia card just not up to the job. Couldn't get it working with my old K8NDL but it did work in the other new system I just built for someone else (and who was supposed to get the old Nvidia card). Pretty good on both Mining bitcoins and Minecraft. Covers will not fit on either system by about 1/2" (and these are fairly standard sized) though I never put the covers on anyway. Might be a reason to mod. Managed to kill the PSU and possibly more on my older system. New PSU on the way and K8NDL is ancient anyway. Might be time for some quad core action.
