Cons: Just to replay to the manufacturer's response. I RMA'd that card, it was suppose to be fixed, but came back doing the same thing. Needing another card ASAP I opted to do an expedited used video card replacement. There was a $600 ping/hold put on my credit card maybe 2 weeks ago, but it's off and no card has been sent. It's hard to find the status on this online, but if I did find the right webpage, it seems it wll be late this month before it ships. I suppose that's the reason the hold on my credit card is off. BTW, I put this in the cons portion because not to many people would see this as a "Pro" statement... Would you?

Other Thoughts: First, why do I need to have a hold put on my credit card anyways? You had my video card once, you botched the repair, you should be begging me to let you send me another one. In fact, you should be sending me a new one. OK forget that. But why is there a $600 (extortionist amount BTW) hold anyway on a used card? And why is it still not shipped? It's suppose to kind be a fast thing I thought. My feeling is, if you hurt me, your hurt your whole customer base. Not a good thing to do in business. Your customer is suppose to be your most important asset.

Yes, I am tired of Asus and companies in general who think customers are a problem and treat them that way. It's a good bet when I do (if I do) get this used card, it will be a bad one too. Don't worry, I'll post back here an let you know for sure.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid — Just Solid

Pros: It's a shame that these are shown as discontinued because this card is an absolute rock in the best of ways. There's not trouble with temps, low noise, and it performs every bit as well as you'd hoped.

Cons: From my experience, and in reading other reviews, any cons for this card are pretty nit-picky, and as such not really worth including.

Other Thoughts: If they come off of discontinued status (I sincerely doubt that they've been discontinued by the manufacturer already), I'll likely get another and have a go at crossfire.

1 out of 5 eggsToo Flakey for a top-end card

Pros: Has the right stuff to be a top notch card, but unfortunately it is very unstable and cannot be trusted.

Cons: I've had problems from the start with this card, but based on reviews (very biased as the reviewers get to keep the card sent for review) I bought what I thought would be a great card. Water cooled with over $700 of cooling equipment, but this card's voltage is locked, as well as everything else. So, it's never even had a chance to be over-voltage damaged, just not built right, or designed right.

Other Thoughts: Asus wanted to be know for top shelf stuff, but having had over a a few dozen of their products over the past few years, I have just about had enough of Asus. Unrelated to this card, I have problems with 3 identical HD monitors purchased to run on this card. 2 of the monitors will colormatch, the 3rd is built differently and cannot even get close to color matching. This says there is zero quality control on their monitor specs. I have the Crosshair IV Extreme, Crosshair V Formula-Z and had (returned) the Sabertooth. the CHIVE runs well, the Z has a faulty RAID setup which caused my RAID 10 to go critical at least every couple of months, the Sabertooth simply would not run stable at even a minimal overclock. Asus, you have many 1000's of my dollars, you won't be getting any more of them. This is not a reflection on Newegg.com BTW, just Asus.

1 out of 5 eggsextremely disapointed

Pros: It was working for only about 15 minutes or just enough time for me to install windows 7.

Cons: I installed windows 7 and a couple of drivers. After the installation I was asked to restart my computer. It shutdown but didn't boot. I got a S.M.A.R.T error and then I knew the hard drive had failed.

Other Thoughts: I thought it would be a nice product. It bit me in the rear.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible QA

Pros: Great video card in theory.

Cons: Had to RMA this item 3 times. One had bad display port #1 bad, Second had a dent in the top shield, Third had bad display port #1. Is Newegg selling refurbed/used Video Cards?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I am very sorry you are having issues with the display card. Have you recently contacted Newegg to set up a RMA on the current card? I would recommend setting this up as soon as possible before your return period is over. If you are outside of the return period and within the warranty, please let us know, and we will be happy to set up a RMA for the faulty card. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsOverclocking Machine! 1230MHz core and 1244Mv

Pros: Use GPU Tweak version 2.2.1.4 to fully unlock voltage control, and save.
Use Sapphire Trixx in conjuntion with ASUS GPU Tweak to override clock frequency and push past the core clock limit in GPU Tweak(1125Mhz)

Trixx will say the right clock speed and GPUTweak will say a different clock speed(wrong) but real voltage. So just set your voltage in GPUTweak first then go to Trixx with GPUTweak still open and set your clock speeds to whatever. After setting up your clock speed your ready your to go but save all your profiles in GPU Tweak and then open up Trixx while GPUTweak is still open.

On my ASUS 7970 DC2 I got 1230MHz on core(1244Mv) And 6GHz on memory.

People think that the ASUS DC2 sucks and cant be oced but I pull over 8000 in firestrike and since it has the exact same heatsink as the Matrix Im in the cooling clear. My clocks are completley stable, but after upgrading to this 7970 and OCing it, I blew my PSU within the 4th day.

Guys you have to get this card.... You dont need VGA hotwire to pull past the limits at ALL.

Cons: Hmmm...
I wish it had a quad slot cooler!

Other Thoughts: Im waiting on a replacement PSU which is the Thermalright 850W Grand. Im replacing a OCZ ModXStream 600W PSU that ran a OCed 670 fine.
I do own this card but I have to fix all the ignorance going around about the AWESOME ASUS DC2. Its fully unlocked.
