5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Overclocks nicely (1225 core 5400 mem), stays cold and quiet, aesthetically more pleasing than reference design

Cons: A bit long, may not fit in all cases. Can be difficult to remove PCI-E power cable if you don't use the included extension.

Other Thoughts: Looks great with Sabertooth Z77 motherboard, incredible value when compared to Nvidia offerings.

1 out of 5 eggsASUS 7850 open box

Pros: the product arrived in a decent amount of time.

Cons: I purchased an Openbox ASUS 7850 video card. Purchased a new power supply. Video card required installing new card, monitor not working, uninstalling, to check to make sure machine was working properly - old card works. I spent 3hours trying to get the new card to work with my PC, uninstalling, reinserting old card, CD driver install , reinstalling new card, monitor not working. The monitor still would not work with this card. I aquired an RMA to return the card, but had an emergency and it did not get shipped in time, so now the RMA is void and 30 day refund is expired and i'm out $172.00.

Other Thoughts: I won't buy from Newegg again under these circumstances. It is said that the equipment is tested before leaving the store, but i don't think this one was. I went to an electronic store and bought a new card that cost $10 more than the Newegg price and it works perfectly. I will also retract this statement if i can get a full or 3/4 refund.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Melane1026,

I am sorry for your experience with your HD7850 graphics card. If you are willing, can you please send me your Serial Number so that I may check your warranty with us at ASUS?

If you are still within warranty I can gladly get you a replacement card that will work in your system properly.

Please contact me at cl-jeremy@asus.com (ref#1043-5413) at your convenience.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing card, couldn't be happier.

Pros: This card is great. I have played BF3 at the High Preset and got and average of 45 FPS. This card could Ultra if you tone down the AA and MSAA. Plays Borderlands 2 maxed out at around 50 FPS. It stays really cool as well. I idle near 27C and the highest I've seen this get is 59C running Unigine Heaven 3.0.

Cons: Bigger than I expected, but I did come from a 4770, which is a probably 3" shorter. Nothing to take an egg off though.

Other Thoughts: I got an Open Box of this card and it was perfect. No dents, scratches, or anything. I guess the person who returned it barely used it. Saved a good $60 by doing it too. This exact version will most likely not come back into stock as there is a V2, but if you find this card I would recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Graphics for Under $200

Pros: After ensuring that I installed the latest drivers from AMD (2 weeks old compared to Asus' 4 month old drivers), everything worked perfectly. I am able to play any game or video I throw at it in perfect 1920x1080. I recently set up Borderlands 2 to run multiple instances on multiple monitors and this graphics card can deliver both monitors a copy of the game with the settings maxed in each. Videos of any size load instantaneously and skipping inside of videos is fast!

Cons: Very large, installing the card was not as easy as I had hoped. Although once I put everything back together, the fit was perfect.

Other Thoughts: I have read that using Asus outdated drivers can cause "problems" so just go with AMD's drivers from their website. They work just fine for me.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Card

Pros: Cool running, VERY quiet. Runs all my games, including BF3 at MAX settings with no problems and no lags. Upgraded from a 9800GT. Minimum power draw and heat is a huge bonus. Over clocked the card with the ATI drivers with no issues. I am running this with an ASrock 970 Extreme 3 MB and AMD 955BE NOT overclocked. No need to. I saw posts about bottlenecking the CPU with this card. All Hogwash. The card and the CPU are more than enough for BF3 in Ultra settings. You will not be sorry you bought the card.

Cons: None so far. I have put a ton of hours on this card in BF3 and have been extremely pleased

Other Thoughts: Go ahead and get it! IF you want to hook up a second DVI monitor, you will need to get an active adapter. If you monitor is HDMI, you are all set

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: These things have an insane amount of processing power. I liked my first one so much I bought a second one for crossfire. They run quiet and haven't made much of an impact on my electric bill. They look uber stylish.

Cons: The price dropped $30 a week after I bought the first one and another $42 after I bought the second one. They heat up my room about 15 degrees while gaming. Nothing worth removing an egg for.

Other Thoughts: Make certain to install the latest drivers and delete any old ones when you install one of these. I haven't had any of the described issues with either of my cards. I even believe that they may have miraculously fixed a pixel that has been dead on my monitor for 3 years while doing some benchmarking. :D

1 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Easy to install, runs great, looks nice!

Cons: Died only two weeks after purchasing this from Newegg

Other Thoughts: Ran great for the first two weeks, then the problems started happening. Was in the middle of a game and the screen goes blank without any warning. I tried a different monitor to see if that was a problem but it wasn't. Fortunately I still had my older 5770 card so I put that back in and now everything works fine. I am currently waiting for a replacement from ASUS but I am not satisfied with the results so far and will most likely not be buying video cards from ASUS in the future! I wasn't overly impressed with their RMA system either. They didn't pay for return shipping like most companies do, ESPECIALLY if it dies within a couple weeks of being purchased!

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for price!

Pros: I've had this card for about a half year now. I love the quietness of it and it stays very cool. I have it overclocked using afterburner to about 1050 clock speed and 1350 memory without effecting the power consumption which is a huge added bonus for me.

Cons: When I say its quiet i mean at 20% fan speed...when its any more which I set mine to start gaining rpm at about 55C, then it gets kinda loud but other than that great card.

Other Thoughts: Buy it!
