ASUS GTX 680 Graphics Card Powers Smoother and More Detailed Gaming.

The first 28nm design from NVIDIA comes in a complete package by way of the ASUS GTX 680 graphics card, featuring true next generation power and all-new NVIDIA GPU Boost frequency modulation. ASUS GPU Tweak helps gamers and overclockers make the most of this powerhouse card through a flexible and intuitive interface, while NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync promotes smoother games with all details set to maximum. NVIDIA 3D Vision also returns, improved by 28nm efficiency and power.

  • newegg DirectCU II ASUS utilizes copper heatpipes in direct contact with the GPU surface heat is transported and dissipated efficiently. DirectCU II is 20% cooler and 14dB quieter than reference – making it a low-noise high-performance graphics card.
  • newegg VGA hotwire Exclusive VGA hotwire allows you to plug and solder wires on the card's voltage regulators and accurately read and control Vcore, Vmem, and PLL voltages from ASS ROG MBs on a hardware level.
  • newegg DIGI+ VRM with 10-phase Super Alloy Power Acclaimed DIGI+ VRM has been applied via a massive 10-phase power design that uses digital voltage regulators to minimize power noise and enhance power efficiency, widen the voltage modulation range, and improve overall stability and longevity by 2.5 times longer than reference.
  • newegg GPU Tweak Overclocking is made real-time and intuitive with ASUS GPU Tweak utility. It not only allows you to optimize clock speeds, voltage and fan speeds on up to four graphics cards independently or simultaneously, you can also select between GPU Tweak’s Standard or Advanced modes depending on your level of experience. On top of these exciting tools, ASUS gives you more: Sync GPU clocks and voltages for easier overclocking, automatically check and update driver and BIOS versions, get detailed specs and actual card status with GPU-Z, 2D/3D switcher can lock the card in 3D for higher benchmarks and monitoring widget provides detailed multi-parameter info.
  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA GPU Boost Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.

5 out of 5 eggsBest of all GTX 680

Pros: This card is all you need. I used amd for years but finally got fed up with the heat and fan noise and stutters. No noise,no heat and every game on Ultra with this card. Outstanding!!!

Cons: None.Well the price is hard to swallow but it's worth it.

Other Thoughts: This card is huge make sure you have a big enough case and a 550W or greater quality power supply.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very quiet under load, and runs cool considering it is the fastest 680 you can buy out the box. The quality of the card is top notch from ASUS compared to the reference design. Big fan of the dynamic vsync with a 120Hz monitor. Lower power draw then reference even OC.

Cons: My 7970 GE beats this pretty easily in 3DMark, even OC to max. But you can't play 3dMark, and Nvidia drivers are generally a better experience.

Not even close to AMD game bundles, but w/e.

Other Thoughts: Not a con, but the card is huge. You won't be SLI these unless you have a big board and case. I would guess the price of this will drop with the GTX 780/770 about to launch. Not a fan of Nvidia reference design cooling besides Titan so you may want to consider this card if it drops to GTX 770 price levels and don't want to wait for non reference 770's.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic card

Pros: Powerful
Runs cool
Easy to overclock

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I truly love this card. This, paired with an i5 and 16 gigs of ram, takes on just about anything you throw at it. Can easily Ultra Witcher 2, locked at sixty. Hell, outside of cut-scenes, this still manages thirty to forty frames with uber sampling. Not that I suggest playing with that. Anyway, Witcher 2, Warfighter, BF3, Planetside 2 - all of today's most demanding games - this thing will run them at sixty frames or higher. The only game that I can't keep a smooth sixty with is Metro 2033, but that one is notorious for its poor performance. Long story short, I couldn't be happier with this card. Just remember, it is a three slot, so don't buy this with thoughts of running SLI. It's not going to happen. Also make sure you have the space, because its length could be an issue with many cases as well.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card

Pros: Fast,Looks Amazing, Performs Amazing, Great Card For The Money, Plays all Modern Games on Ultra. This is just one of the best cards for the money. It is super quit and packs a punch. I would totally recommend it.

Cons: Takes three Slots. This isn't a performance thing but if you want to sli you will need a case like the 900d,800d, or cosmos 2

1 out of 5 eggsBad Experience

Pros: promises to be an elite gaming card

Cons: sporadic performance, random graphical artifacts, horrific customer service

Other Thoughts: My experience with ASUS in the past had been pleasant enough. However I purchased the last flagship model of the NVidia card (GTX 580) and it has been nothing but trouble. It took me quite a while to track the problem to the video card. Random lockups and reboots. I am not on my 3rd replacement card and each one they send me is faulty. I have replaced the card with a different card and have no issues. I have tried the GTX 580 in other machine, all of which have had the problem. So I am without a doubt 100% sure it's the card. ASUS keeps charging me to ship it back and they keep sending me faulty cards. I think they are just randomly sending out other cards that have been sent in as replacements without any repair or testing at all. Customer service takes days to weeks to respond to emails. This process has been going on for over a year and I still have no functional card. So you take the chance if you like but if you are sitting where I am next year remember that you were warned!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear MFS,

I am sorry to hear about your experience with ASUS Support. If you are still having problems please contact me at cl-jeremy@asus.com so that I can see what I can do to help. I can personally test a replacement for you so that we can get you the working card that you deserve. If there is anything that I can help you with, please don't hesitate to email.

Regards,
Jeremy

5 out of 5 eggsBEAST!

Pros: This card is unbeatable, I'm not an overclocker so the fact that this thing comes just under 200MHz higher then the reg gtx680 really kills everything.
I usually get 65-110fps but mostly between 75-85fps in BATTLEFIELD 3 ON ULTRA
This card easly tops off at 200fps that must be the cap for BLACK OPS II. Tho COD games have always been low end in graphics.
HALF-LIFE 2 DEATHMATCH 299FPS its like there is noway to go higher haha. just thought I'd mention for you HL2:DM FANS.

Cons: NON

5 out of 5 eggsBeast of a card

Pros: Upgraded from a HD6870 to this card and it is easily twice as fast. The card is capable of ripping through pretty much any game that I throw at it and it can usually keep up with my 120HZ monitor.
I average about 98Fps in Battlefield 3 whether I am playing in 3D or 2D on max settings @ 1080p. Everything is smooth as butter.
It tears through skyrim at max settings as well as Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Sid Meirs: Civilization 5, and everything else I own. I dont think I have ever seen the Framerate dip below 50Fps in anything other than the Unigine Heavan benchmark at max settings.
Card is heavy and feels extremely well built.
The card is relatively quiet for the kind of power it can put out.

Cons: I do wish it had 3 or 4Gb of VRAM instead of just 2Gb, I have just about run out playing bioshock Infinite at max settings.

I am being very knit picky here, but I do wish the fas were a little bit quieter at idle. I wish i could turn them down to 15% or so instead of the minimum 20%. I have this in my HTPC so silence is an absolute must. I was hoping that with the 3 slot design it would be quiet. It ends up being the loudest thing in my case at idle with the exception of my HDD. (like I said, real knit picky here)
It is a very large card, but I knew that going in. Make sure to measure your case to be sure. It is much taller than average as well as long. It barely fit in my case. I only had an eighth of an inch from the top of my case! (granted it is an HTPC case Silverstone LC17)

Other Thoughts: Other than slightly quieter fans and a little more RAM, I couldn't dream of anything to make this any better.

I haven't bothered overclocking it yet because to be quite honest, I cant think of any reason to do so. Its not like I am having any trouble running a game.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus GTX 680 DC2T

Pros: High ASIC - 86%/83% on both that I bought. Low power draw, quiet and cool (max 55°c on top card full load Furmark) W/ default fan profile. +nVidia features if you're into that sort of thing - Cuda, 3D Vision, PhysX, TXAA, FXAA, etc.

Going from AMD CF setup games do feel smoother and rendering times have gone down.

Cons: They are triple slot and BIG so know what you're getting into (not really a con DC2 cooler).

Other Thoughts: I'm happy but still waiting on the $40 rebate.
