Enjoy the power of NVIDIA 28nm Kepler architecture for a new level of gaming enjoyment in the latest DirectX 11 title, with the ASUS GT640-2GD3 graphics card. This GeForce GT 640 VGA card renders mind-blowing lifelike graphics and immersive 3D game like you have never experienced it before. An assortment of NVIDIA technology such as NVIDIA Adaptive Sync, NVIDIA Surround and FXAA Anti-aliasing Mode offers you more than one way to elevate your gaming experience. The sophisticated ASUS design including super alloy components and dust-proof fan ensures best in class durability and reliability for trouble-free gaming even during the most demanding environments.

  • newegg Super Alloy Power Premium alloys inside power delivery components defeat the heat for cards that run better, cooler, and longer than reference.
  • newegg Dust-proof Fan Unique fan design dissipates heat efficiently while extending a graphic card’s lifespan by 25% (for reference) through increased dust and particle resistance.
  • newegg GPU Tweak GPU Tweak utility helps you modify and tune clocks, power consumption targets, voltages, and fan performance via an intuitive interface. Detailed specs and actual card status are available with GPU-Z. Monitoring widget provides real-time and detailed multi-parameter info. Automatically check and update drivers and BIOS versions. Sync GPU clocks and voltages for easier overclocking.
  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA CUDA Unlocks the power of GPU’s processor cores to accelerate the most demanding system tasks

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card.

Pros: It runs 4 displays without any issues.

Cons: Normally I would put something funny about the price here, but for what you get I think this is a good deal.

Other Thoughts: If you need more than 2 displays this is the card for you.

5 out of 5 eggsSmooth! :3

Pros: Overclocking and monitoring software is very nice and the fan runs quiet.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I got this card to upgrade my performance for EVE Online. With this card, I'm running 3 clients on full settings and they are all running smooth with no lag or artifacts. I'm looking forward to finding out what else it can do! :3

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card

Pros: Absolutely awesome card. I took a big jump going from an old integrated graphics card on a 7 year old motherboard to this, and the difference was absolutely astonishing. Running around 190fps on older games, and around 100 on newer you couldn't ask for a better bang for your buck.

Cons: It was a lot bigger than I'd anticipated but in the end I was able to fit it into an ATX mini, so that was cool. Not worth taking an egg off for.

Other Thoughts: Definitely the best budget computer card, and I'm working my way towards a full gaming computer and will still be using this card. I've had it for close to a year now. Soon-to-be specs;
HAF 932 Advanced case
NVidia GT 640
Corsair CX750M 750w PSU
ASUS M5A99X Evo R2 MoBo - still deciding
AMD FX-8150 3.6Ghz Eight core
16gb G. Skill Ripjaw ram
- Some of this I already have.

3 out of 5 eggsAsus GT640

Pros: Decent price to performance ratio. I love that I could hook up four monitors if I wanted to.

Cons: Not the greatest for games, if you want something for high end gaming spend another $30-$50 and get a GTX650Ti

Other Thoughts: If all you want to do is play games like WoW, this is all you really need, I got a very steady 40FPS on almost maxed settings.

1 out of 5 eggs2x failure

Pros: Price was great. Desired outputs available.

Cons: I purchased this card and ran it for about a week. During this time I started noticing flickers on my screens and then the video would blink every few seconds. I RMA'd the card and got its replacement yesterday, and after running the card for about an hour the same flickers and video blinking started again.

Other Thoughts: This was my first time purchasing an ASUS card, and I am not impressed. I guess I will go back to the ATI card that shipped with my system.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Play WOW at highest setting with 30fps. I got this because it was the minimum I needed for GW2. At the price I can't beat it.

Cons: none for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Great price, very powerful. My goal with this card was to run my 42" HDTV off the HDMI and dual monitors off the DVI ports. Worked great for gaming running an average 60fps on ultra high settings and an astounding 175fps on lower settings.

Cons: Standard definition videos were playing flawlessly but HiDef videos like Avatar played choppy with some banding. This might be correctable by tweaking settings or overclocking but that's a bit out of my experience level.

Other Thoughts: I've used this card for a little under a month and decided to RMA this for a card with dual HDMI ports so I can upgrade my gaming experience to HiDef as well as my TV.
