5 out of 5 eggsRating from someone with a Masters Degree in Computer Science

Pros: - The fan is quiet
- The resources for the money are outstanding
- Can run any game on max settings without error
- Raptor tools from AMD make optimizing games to work with this card easy
- Card runs cool from 40C to 75C even when playing games on max settings

Cons: - Card failed after 1 year 10 months of use which is acceptable (please see my important notes below)
- Card is large in dimension (over 10 inches)
- It does require the 6 pin connector

Other Thoughts: I am an avid gamer. I spend about 6-14 hours a day playing the most graphic intensive direct3d games on the market. I am the perfect stress test for video cards. I have used Nvidia and Radeon cards for years and not one I have ever had in 15 years has ever survived for more than 3 years. I go to lan parties and my equipment has moved all over the country. I beat my video cards up (figuratively). I've run them in environments with 0% humidity and 99% humidity. This card survived 1 year and 10 months of vigorous gaming before it failed. Even now it is still able to do simple tasks such as allowing me to write this review, even when it won't run graphic intensive games. Most people would give this a low rating for having failed within the first 2 years of use, but not me. For as much as I have beaten this card up, having almost lasted 2 years has been a good product life in my opinion.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works decently for average gamers, quiet and efficient.

Cons: Starting overheating about 4-5 months into ownership.. it started crashing at 50C, which from my research makes me believe that there was something defective in the card, being that most cards survive up to 70-80C until they spike. With the newer games coming out you can't even get through the first loading screen before the temp spiking and crashing out before you're able to lower the game's graphics. Worked for a while, time for an upgrade.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome card, no hitches.

Pros: Little noise
Little heat

Have had the card for approximately 1 year now, have yet to have a hitch. Granted because of the system that I installed it into, the card is a little bottlenecked.

Cons: None whatsoever.

3 out of 5 eggsNot pleased

Pros: Very powerful, quiet, and cool.

Cons: Had issues with this video card locking up off the bad. For no apparent reason(heat or otherwise) this video card locks up. I have found that the Radeon chip is the culprit but there is yet to be a permanent fix, the only thing I have found that helps is to have dual monitors going(or monitor and TV in my case but now I cant move my only TV anywhere else). If I knew it was going to be an issue, then I would have never bought it. I will be replacing this as soon as I can afford it.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty powerful

Pros: For the price It's a solid video card & has been running strong for quite some time now. I have always loved ASUS products.

Cons: It's a bit long for some cases. I actually have to cut some of the shroud off to get it to fit into my case. So make sure to measure the area where your PCI-e slot is.

4 out of 5 eggsvery big card

Pros: runs cool, looks nice, good performance

Cons: 2 things. 1 of the fans died after about 90 days of use, however still runs very cool with just one fan. 2end thing this card is very long compaired to common hd7850 and wnt fit in some cases.

Other Thoughts: in my case the gpu actually is resting in a hdd bay since its so long. even with 1 dead fan card never seen over 61c max under heavy load

5 out of 5 eggsLove them

Pros: Love these cards! I picked up two of these during the Black Friday sale so they were $149 a piece PLUS a $40 rebate, so I paid 109.99 each. Absolutely worth it. They replaced a single Sapphire HD 6850 1GB card.

Setting up crossfire was extremely easy. Plug the cards in, plug the bridge in, open catalyst and enable crossfire... done. So far I have yet to see any microstuddering during gameplay.

I have maxed these cards out during mining. On altcoins I get about 700Mh/s on I 13 temps get to about 75C on the main card and 65C on the secondary.

I am able to max out resolution and settings on most games and they run about 60C during intense battles like on Crysis 3. Cards idle around 35-40C depending on ambient temps.

Cons: I don't have any real cons associated with this card. They are a short PCB, but a LONG heatsink, for me this is no problem in my full ATX Antec DF-85 case, but if you are thinking about putting these in a mid-ATX then you may run into some issues.

Other Thoughts: Asus GPU Tweak let's you overclock and monitor these cards very easily. You can also mess around with voltages and power targets, great for mining and gaming.

2 out of 5 eggsBUYER BEWARE

Pros: When it is not crashing, it runs AMAZING! (READ NEGATIVE COMMENT)

Cons: I have been a long time ASUS supporter for years but this is the second time i bought an ASUS product and get the same errors with crashes and generally an unstable build. I had a 6850 that from ASUS that would crash on me all the time, RMA'd it 3 times and each of the 3 times they would return it saying nothing is wrong. So i though ok, maybe its my motherboard, so i put a different GPU (Nvidia 9800GTX) to see if i got the same errors... I did not. Asus has lost my business and my future recommendation due to an unfinished, unstable product, with a support team that is REMOTELY Competent. STAY AWAY FROM ASUS! BUYER BEWARE!

Other Thoughts: Spend a few extra dollars and get yourself an Nvidia product from EVGA or XFX.
