2 out of 5 eggsHaving issues...

Pros: Better than my last

Cons: Crashes often

Other Thoughts: This card crashes nearly every time i try to play a game. For all intents and purposes, I just cant use it...

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

Thank you for purchasing an ASUS product.

Typically a display card would not cause a system to crash. In most cases when an error or crash happens in Windows, it can be explained by a driver conflict. Moreover, I would suggest removing any previous display drivers installed on the computer. By doing this, it should resolve the problem. Should you need any assistance in this matter, please let me know through email. 3577199.

Regards,

Mark

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for SLI

Pros: Picked 2 of these up cheap during the Black Friday sales. $200 each with Asus rebate. Running them in an SLI setup in my basement server that powers my 60 inch LED TV upstairs. Able to run all my games in full detail at 1080P without dropping below 60fps. Noise wasn't a huge concern given the server isn't in the same room, but these run quiet and cool.

Cons: Cards are very long. Had to remove my hard drive cage to fit them in.

Other Thoughts: For $400, I feel like this was a steal compared to what a single card at that price would give me. Just hoping I don't have one fail, as it would be hard to replace with the exact model.

3 out of 5 eggsNice card, but RMA in 2 weeks

Pros: Great heat sink- temperatures are staying low and fans are quiet, supports all new games on ultra settings,SLI-ready.Fro 199$ after rebate this card was a steal.

Cons: Need 2 PCI-E 6-pin power connectors,my PSU got one and 2-Molex to 6-pin PCI-E connected included so not a big deal. This video card is really huge and takes a lot of space,i would say it's not even 2-slot card, closer to 3. I used mine for about 2 weeks and then it start crashing randomly,i tested all the components-no issues, put my old card back-no issues.Since rebate was filed i can't return it to new Egg,i'm dealing with Asus support.Hope the turnaround time is quick.

Other Thoughts: Look like Asus makes a great products and support seems to be nice, but looking on reviews of different Asus products-a lot of DOA and RMA,so if you got a working one-it will last forever, but need to RMA some stuff.

-could play all my games for about a week

3 out of 5 eggsWhat free gifts

Pros: it seems to be a very good card however mine was doa so cant really say much about it

Cons: well it was doa and they were out of stock so i don't get one

Other Thoughts: so when i revived this GPU it was defective and after a call to asus who apologized for the in convince and told me to return it to where i bought it. I sent it to newegg for a replacement and the day after they revived it the rma chnaged to a refund i emailed them about it and got no reply they then accepted it for refund but with the price of the free games from nvidia subtracted from the refund that you can not return so i guess i bought 2 games for more than full price.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Card - Rip Off Rebate

Pros: Great Card - Good price
Installs easily

Cons: The Asus "Shell game" for rebates is a complete rip-off, just assume the price you pay does not include the rebate. They ask for a mountain of documentation, and if you deviate even slightly (ie, hand writing the label instead of cutting out the one on their form) or submitting the "order details" form from Newegg instead of the identical "invoice" form, it will be rejected - in essence, they will always find some reason to reject it, hoping you will give up. What a disappointment, makes an otherwise great product completely distasteful.

Other Thoughts: I get the whole rebate thing, the intent is to lower the perceived price and count on the laziness of the buyer to allow the company to keep the extra cash. But after carefully filling out all my forms, sending it in, and a month later to hear that "the invoice is not correct" makes me seriously consider my buying strategy from both Asus and Newegg. I love that you have to call India to even talk to the rebate folks, who of course, are powerless to make any decisions or understand the problem.

4 out of 5 eggsWhere are my games???

Pros: Silent, eats everything at maximum settings.

Cons: One egg less because the coupon to redeem my games came without the code to download them. So far no answer by Newegg. Nothing helpful on Asus's website either.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty nice card!

Pros: Inexpensive, very stiff with a metal backing. Runs pretty cool (63C vs. 58C for the Gigabyte Windforce vs 65C for the MSI / single card, same conditions, full load). Seems to overclock well. Very nice card for the money!

Cons: The metal backing plate makes the card thicker reducing distance between cards in SLI. Not on the 680 PCB.

Other Thoughts: Picked this up before they discontinued it so I can run it along with my Gigabyte windforce in SLI. This is my first experience with SLI and so far it seems to be working well but I'm not terribly fond of the increased temps (although I did expect that). I probably won't be overclocking either card because I don't want to increase temps in the case any further. With both in SLI top cards hits 78C and the bottom hits 68C. It came with a Diablo mouse pad which is pretty cool because I just happen to have needed one.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Got this for $200 and put it in a new build with a 4670k.

So far I have played AC4 and Splinter Cell and have had no issues maxing the games out at 1080p with medium AA.

Can't barely hear the card in my case.

Cons: Sometimes I wish I bought a 770 to be more future proof but for $200 and the ASUS name it was too good to pass on.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Performance!

Pros: While I have not tested it fully, this durable card can handle anything I throw at it as far as games go. Many consider BF4 to be the de-facto standard right now and I am able to run it on all ultra with no exceptions to any particular setting. Everything at its most expensive setting still allows for smooth gameplay with no noticeable degradation of speed. This was a big upgrade from my 6850 and I have to say it was well worth it. I would have never bought it at full price, but that's why they have rebates going all the time for it. Black Friday also took off $50 instantly, so the time was right, cutting the cost by 1/3! If that opportunity comes up again, I would say "buy it!" It's well worth it and you won't be disappointed. Also, I'm now converted from AMD to NVIDIA. The driver updates come rapidly to fix errors and provide efficiency. AMD is a lot slower on the uptake.

Side-note: The CUDA cores would make it good for video editing (but not for bit-coin mining ;) )

Cons: There's a little bit of additional size here, but it's a small increase for a huge boost in performance.

Cost is a little high, but if we're really honest with ourselves, we know it's worth it and that it's fair.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I was blown away by the performance. DOAs seem to be lemon, not common, so if you get one, just go through the RMA process and get a new one, you really should be good. If you RMA and get a new one, make sure you rate it fairly to the card. Remember that you're rating the card and its drivers and performance, not the customer service of Asus or the RMA service of Newegg or how long it took to get to your house. To me this card is worth 5 stars and I'm not basing that off of other subjective elements in the transaction.
