5 out of 5 eggsRuns Like a Dream

Pros: Served its purpose well. Stayed cool even under load. Maintained its value. I sold it on an auction website a year after purchase and received the full purchase price plus 10%. Not bad.

Cons: Price has increased about 30% since Feb 2013.

5 out of 5 eggsPrice for performance king

Pros: Purchased two of these stellar cards on Sept 30th of this year. Upgraded to a Dell 29in widescreen monitor 2560x1080. My experience has been nothing short of euphoric.
Got some quality free titles with the cards: Deus Ex human rev, Sleeping dogs, Sniper elite V2, Tomb raider, Far cry 3, and Dirt3.

Cards are stable and cool. Top card in crossfire runs about 7 degrees warmer - airflow is restricted by close proximity of lower card. However neither card ever hits over 62 C.

The real kicker... I bought these just weeks before new generation of radeon gpus hit the market.

When the R9 and R7 cards became available the 7000 series prices went back up, way up. I don't claim to completely understand the marketing strategy here but as a consumer, timing is everything.
As of today, the same card (Sapphire 7950) is listed at $449.99.
The slightly more powerful Asus R9 280x lists at $379.00.
I paid $572.74 for both of mine and got 6 free games to boot.

Once again, from one careful consumer to another, timing is everything.

Hope this helps next time you are tempted to buy the latest and greatest.

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: Whenever new hardware hits the market - drink some green tea, do some yoga, stay calm, and know that you timed your purchase of the outgoing generation of hardware perfectly when you got it deeply discounted and promo'ed a few weeks before.

1 out of 5 eggsThis card was a disappointment

Pros: Seemed great for a week of internet use. Never loaded or used a game with the card.

Cons: Gave out a week after build. Pixeled out and had to return. The card has been discontinued from New Egg. (how convenient) So, my refund after all the "good" Combo Deal discounts amounts to a third of what the card costs I will need to replace it with. Combo Deal null and void, I had to pay to return, I had to spend the time disassembling, packing and shipping. Asus- Very Disappointed, New Egg-Very Disappointed.

Other Thoughts: Combo deals may be great if you don't have a problem with the gear. You can bet that Asus and New Egg will not get hurt if there is a problem.

Manufacturer Response:

I am sorry that the display card is not available and you will be missing out on a promotion. I completely understand any frustrations caused by this situation. 5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Overclocks easily, 1200/1600 @ 1.25v from 800/1250 1.094 stock.
Stays cool Has only gotten up to 69c after heavy gaming or benchmarking

Cons: Not necessarily a con but it's a 3 slot vs 2 slot like other GPU's. Coming from dual GPU's it was a non issue.

Other Thoughts: This was a nice upgrade from 2 crossfired 6870's.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Love this card runs fast and cool. Had to re-paste to get the proper cooling factor i needed. After repasting everything runs smooth. I can overclock to 7970 specs and get great performance. Running stock this card runs fast and smooth hope to be picking up a second card for crossfire.

Cons: Card is big stock paste on heat sink is not very good quality easily fixed with repasting with silver or diamond paste.

Other Thoughts: want 2

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card

Pros: Very good video card for the price and for single screen gaming, low temperature as advertised never going above 60 c under full load I. A haf x case.

Cons: As with most cards, does not handle eyefinity in some games on max very well, as with the higher resolution (5760x1080) you need tons of power. I may buy another and see if crossfire helps as it suggests it should, assuming the game is utilizing it properly

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Definitely a good card in my opinion, fans hardly ever kick on loud enough to be audible. All games played on max without any overclocking done. It was the perfect match to my system

Cons: Size. It is definitely a massive card, and trying to fit it into a medium tower case was a nightmare. Then again, I shouldn't have been expecting anything else from something short of a full size tower!

Other Thoughts: Software that comes with it allows for very easy overclocking and monitoring the temperatures and fan speeds. As a test i did rev the fans up to max, it sounded like a small car starting up. It definitely packs power, and the roar of the fans was actually a plus to me!
