3 out of 5 eggsGreat card but...

This review is from: ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Runs everything I have thrown at it. Looks good too. Great price point.

Cons: LOUD. And I mean loud. It sounds like the fans are about ready to blow off. I'm not sure if it's broken, or if that's just the way it made, but I'm almost tempted to return it just to get another one and see.

Other Thoughts: For the price point, it's an awesome card. But we will see in another week or so if i can put up with the noise. even in my huge case with plenty of air space and cooling, I can hear it over my central a/c blowing.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Customer Service

This review is from: ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: Card freezes and crashes system.

Other Thoughts: This is my 2nd review, my first review stated that my card was not working efficiently and hoped that I would resolve this matter by talking with tech support. I gave it three stars in my first review. This is my review after talking with tech support. No help what so ever. Their main troubleshooting steps were as follows.
1. What is your power supply output?
2. Are the drivers updated?
3. Do you have another card to test out?

Then he told me to start an RMA and told me I only had these options...
1. Pay to ship it there, and they'll fix it and send it back around 7-10 days.
2. They'll mail me a form for credit card information, which will cost 10 dollars to process, and they'll send me a replacement GPU.

Why do I have to pay anything extra on top of what I already paid for a faulty card? Just seems a little off to me. Anything with a warranty i've had from a premium product, they've either 1. Sent a pre-paid box for shipping, or 2. Send a replacement inside of a pre-paid box, for me to ship the broken one back in. With having my credit card information without a processing fee.

I wont be buying ASUS again...

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsWish I could return it.

This review is from: ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Games run smoothly on "ultra/max" settings.

Cons: Worked great for several months then I started getting the artifacting issues that many others have reported. Sadly it started having issues after it was too late to get a refund. It has issues running games and web video (youtube) at the same time. It has issues waking up from a sleep state often requiring a restart.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend even as a budget buy. Luckily there are better cards on the market now.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Cody,

Thank your for your time in posting a review about our products. On behalf of ASUS, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Have you tried re-seating the the card or do you have the latest driver try to change settings to check if the issue will still persist? For further assistance, please email me at customerloyalty@asus.com and place the case#N150663587 in the subject line for a reference.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks when it wants to

This review is from: ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Built a new system with a 5820K 6 core, 16 gb of ram, a 256 SSD, and this card. Ran benchmarks and it scores 92 fps in Cinebench. The card itself looks great, very quiet operation, and seems well built to the touch.

Cons: Random freezing of my system, crashes Shogun 2 at random times. Tried different settings from Very High, to High, to Medium. Starcraft 2 struggles to run at Extreme settings which is ok by me, but it's the crashing of Starcraft2 and Shogun2 that bothers me the most. The freezing is most certainly annoying.

Other Thoughts: Im reluctant to try another Asus video card...may try a different brand next time. I hope customer support will be able to resolve this issue.
I've updated all the drivers for it, so I know that can't be it. Judging from other people's comments im not the only one experiencing these issues which is ok, but it all comes down to how their support service handles these issues.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Cody,

Thank your for your time in posting a review about our products. On behalf of ASUS, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. I just want to check if you have the latest driver for the graphics card and have you tried re-seating the card then do a reboot to the system. For further assistance, please email me at customerloyalty@asus.com and place the case#N150663625 in the subject line for reference.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat card while working----RMA'd

This review is from: ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: The card performed beautifully while it worked. I was able to play everything from Super SFIV , APB reloaded, Deus Ex and CS GO with buttery smooth FPS. I am a recent convert from console to pc so everything seemed great

Cons: The card began heavily "artifacting". Each time I loaded the drivers from the website. The computer became unusable until I entered safe-mode with the default drivers. If I allowed windows default drivers to remain active things were perfectly fine. Gameplay with default windows drivers was limited to a cool 5fps. It was too late to RMA with newegg so I sent out to Asus to have repaired/replaced. I am awaiting the results from the RMA and have been reading the horror stories online. Hopefully things work out. I will post another review once this is complete with my full thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I loved the card and the performance that I have experienced so far with this GFX. I am so hopeful that this is resolved and returned without an issue. I gave the card 3 stars because when it worked it was an amazing treat. When it failed my heart broke.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Jason,

Thank your for your time in posting a review about our products. On behalf of ASUS, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

I do understand your concern with the Graphics Card. I want to personally assist you on this matter. Have you tried to remove and then re-seat the video card in its expansion slot or disconnect and reconnect the auxiliary power cables to get it working? You mentioned that the unit was already returned to ASUS for repair, can we have your serial or RMA number for us to review and update the case.

Please let me know if this helps, you can email me at customerloyalty@asus.com and place case #N150514703 in the subject line for a reference.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!

1 out of 5 eggsNever ASUS again!

This review is from: ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: It looks nice, that's about it.

Cons: Constant crashing, blue-screening, hang-ups, etc. The card is completely unstable, regardless of what driver version or bios settings are used. System will run anywhere from 2 seconds to a few hours, but it will crash. It's the video card that couldn't.

Other Thoughts: Over 20 years of ASUS ownership, ends today.

Manufacturer Response:

Please try the following steps below to fix the unit.

* Install the latest motherboard chip-set drivers
* Install the latest display drivers
* Disable your sound system
* Slow Down your AGP port
* Rig a desk fan to blow into your computer
* under-clock your video card
* do physical checks
* test your CPU and RAM
* check your power supply

1 out of 5 eggsGoodbye ASUS

This review is from: ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: It looked nice?

Cons: Constant crashing, lock ups, blue screens ... regardless of driver version. Card is literally bent over from its own weight, support bracket isn't even straight. Card is basically a glorified paperweight, as it is unstable and unreliable. Might run for two hours, might run for 2 seconds, no telling.

1 out of 5 eggsTROUBLE

This review is from: ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: No,
It taught me one thing. To change companies.
I hope this review will help me to solve this problem
as well as all others.
If it does not appear, I am angry.
Asus quickly respond to my problems after following.
I still have 4 items to make comments.

Cons: Asus fast service, but no response.
Destruction of the CPU of the computer.
No Asus RMA
No response from the service except automated posts. The only answer I had come at the shutdown of the graphics card is to leave like that.
I have problems with my other Asus products. (laptop, monitor, graphics card. motherboard)
This is my last attempt with Asus.

Other Thoughts: I does not endorse products.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsbest R9 200 series

This review is from: ASUS DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: the best thing about the card is 1120 MHz core clock right out of the box and with Asus tweak on gaming settings can be overclocked to 1140mhz . running stable and playing every graphic demanding games. runs very cool and quiet. very easy to install and will probably go dual crossfire in the future.

Cons: not much of a con but less power demanding, maybe could use a back plate for looks, could be cheaper just throwing it out there.

Other Thoughts: great card for the budget.
