4 out of 5 eggsIt Works But Rebate Does Not

Pros: The card works well, just as most others in this price range. It runs quietly, which isn't always a given with overclocked GPUs these days.

Cons: Don't by this card if you are looking at the price after the rebate. Looking at reviews for ASUS hardware, especially motherboards, on this site, it seems to be a trend that ASUS will decline their rebates.

I double checked all my documentation to ensure my rebate was in order and it was still declined. My Corsair ones went through with no problem.

Other Thoughts: This is still a good card if you do not care about the rebate.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat gamer's card!

Pros: I bought this card for one purpose only, and that was to play the Darkplaces port of Quake with the Quake HD mod. For this purpose, it worked marvelously. I didn't see any reviews which used this game as a benchmark, and that was a shame, because the Darkplaces engine is a worthy contender to put the strengths of the newest generations of video cards to the test. I turned up all the effects (real world lighting, etc) for the express purpose of exercising this video card, having seen all the wonderful reviews of how this card handles all the modern games. Well, Quake isn't exactly modern, but the engine is, most certainly, and its settings set to maximum have most certainly shown off the virtues of the card: maximum beauty at maximum speed, all while killing the baddies. A first-person-shooter at its best.

Cons: As far as the card itself is concerned, I have nothing to report. However, as far as the case is concerned, there was a small concern. I have a Cooler Master Elite 120 mini-ITX case, and all the hard drive connectors were on the left side, where the PCI-E slot is. It wasn't a problem when I didn't have a monster video card to install, but once that happened, the wires became an issue, bunching up behind the video card, and bending the PCB ever so slightly. This was a problem, to say the least. I had to re-orient the hard drives' connectors so that they faced the right side. After this was accomplished, the video card went back in with ease (I had to remove the card to re-orient the HD's because of the card's length). Not really a con if you don't have a small case, but something to keep in mind if you have one that can fit this caliber of card.

On the software side, Darkplaces Quake does drop to a single digit frame rate in some scenes: rarely, and then only briefly. I suspect it has to do with the amount of rendering it has to do at a given moment. Again, not really a con, because the majority of the time, it runs acceptably smooth and looks gorgeous, with mucho detail and effects.

Other Thoughts: It would be best to prepare your system to receive the new card by installing the latest Catalyst drivers (14.12). This card worked beautifully, handily replacing the HD 6670, with the current screen configuration intact (I run LInux). I would definitely recommend buying this card if you want to run the newest games. Mine was an corner use case, and most definitely not common.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this card

Pros: When it worked it was OK.

Cons: Video just cuts out. Monitor says no signal. Not even coming on any more.
I've had this card since 7/14. Asus quality is no more apparently.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Handles itself pretty well. Everything I've played definitely seems to go to it's absolute best ability, only limitation so far seems to be the limits of the programmers.

Cons: I've had it for a very short amount of time, and I had an unsettling video error, but it cleared up with me shutting off the computer and turning it back on.

Other Thoughts: I haven't pushed it to its limits yet.

5 out of 5 eggsTerrific Card.

Pros: Run quiet and cool Was purchased from Newegg as a gift. I hardly play any really taxing games Use it mainly for Skyrim, Alien Isolation and a few others but runs them at Ultra or High just fine.Really like the cooler and how quiet it is.

Cons: Price.. was purchased during the height of the mining craze ;( ...

Other Thoughts: From what I have read and seen this card is just a 7870 with some newer features.. If the price is good I can see now reason not to purchase this card unless you want every game to run at Ultra settings.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fantastic!

Pros: Been able to handle everything I play in ultra, Skyrim, Dota2, etc. For a card that I got at a really reasonable price on Black Friday, very happy. Great performance for price.

Cons: Nothing yet, all though have not tried to push it with brand new games though.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mid level card.

Pros: Nice step up from my 6850. Have always had good luck with ASUS products and this one is no exception.
Silent fan, low temps and plays all my games and movies just fine. Recommended as a solid mid-level card.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Some free games would have been nice, but got it for a good price with generous rebate although rebates are a PITA. Why can't manufactures just pass on the better price without the rebate game?

1 out of 5 eggsBlack Screen Problem

Pros: Bang for your buck GPU.

Cons: This gpu along with many other similar model appear to have a problem where the screen would black out while you're gaming or booting up. I've experienced it 3-5 times while using the card for 3 days.

Other Thoughts: Until this is fixed I would not advise buying the card.
