5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card For The Value

Pros: It runs the latest games, and can even run the newer games coming out on the higher settings with little to no problems. I game with it quite a bit, and it has never crashed or given me any problems in the entire time I have had it installed onto my PC. I have been playing all the latest titles such as Grand Theft Auto V, Dark Souls II: Scholar of The First Sin, Metal Gear Solid V on Max Settings/60 FPS. It did give me some lag when I played Mortal Kombat X on Max settings, but the fault lies with the poorly optimized game itself, and not the card in that instance. From what I understand, it will be able to run such Upcoming AAA titles like Fallout 4 and Star Wars: Battlefront on Higher settings as well.

Very good video card for building a Budget PC. It is starting to show it's age, but many still consider this Graphics card to be on the High end side. By far the most Affordable card for what it can do. I like to play my games on High settings all the time with 60 FPS, and I am still quite comfortable with this card. I wouldn't see a need to upgrade it for probably another year or so. You truly cannot beat that kind of value.

Cons: It has an annoying tendency to blow out a lot of hot air when playing the latest games on higher settings for any real length of time. I usually feel the need to cut short any game sessions that happen to run more than 2 or 3 hours so it can cool off. That, and it turns my room into a sauna.I checked the temperatures with the SpeedFan program after such lengthy gaming sessions with High settings, and the GPU's temperature did get a little high. From what I can tell it didn't never got outrageously high, and it cooled itself off pretty fast.

I'm relatively sure this cooling and excessive hot air problem could easily be remedied with a simple heat sink. It is also equally possible that the stock fans in my PC's computer case tower are just really bad. It has 2 x 120mm Red Fans. I never bothered to get a new heat sink or replaced the stock fans in my case so I couldn't say if this would solve the problem or not. I strongly suspect it would though.

Other Thoughts: The Pros more than out weigh any annoying little cons this Graphics card may have with it. Even the excessive blowing of heat when gaming was never that big of an issue to me. However, if you're willing to spend just a bit more for a graphics card (10 or so bucks), I would suggest getting the R9 270x. I feel the difference is significant enough to warrant the extra money.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Signal!

Pros: Silent!

Cons: On first use, i just got No Signal on my screen!! I tried different DVI to VGA adaptor and no success still no signal! I tried to plug it on my HDTV and it's work! But i need to use it with my VGA monitor! I tried with DisplayPort to VGA cable and i can't go over 1024x768! Over that i got a no signal message! Really unhappy!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Daniel,

Thank your for your time in posting a review about our products. We are sorry to hear your experience with the graphics card (no signal). 1 out of 5 eggsSick of Asus

Pros: When it works it's good, but if it breaks, prepare to pay out of pocket.

Cons: 3 times total I have had Asus products fail me and not once did they honor their warranty. I am not alone either, take a look around online for yourself. 2 years ago I recommended an Asus product to a friend and they refused his RMA twice for a broken motherboard within warranty. All 3 times they make you pay the shipping then send it back broken with no explanation about the RMA. I've talked to support (kindly might I add) and they just don't care. I spend tens of thousands a year on Asus products for my business but not any more. How can I trust them with expensive equipment if they can't even honor a low budget warranty. With the latest RMA they just messed around until it was no longer within warranty and so now I would have to do a paid repair. Never buying Asus again.

Other Thoughts: I have RMA'd with MSI, Corsair, OCZ, XFX and Gigabyte and NEVER had a problem until Asus.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Jef,

Thank your for your time in posting a review about our products. On behalf of ASUS, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Can we have more information about the card's issue? or since you mentioned that you already returned it, can I have the latest case or RMA number for me to review and update you of what happened to the case. For further assistance, please email me at customerloyalty@asus.com and place the case #N150704578 in the subject line for a reference.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy this for an Intel PC

Pros: price

Cons: Terrible performance.

Other Thoughts: NOT the correct GPU if you're building a PC with Intel processor (Haswell, in my case). I am using an ASUS board (Z97). I think the only way I will get smooth video and gameplay with my new desktop is by simply REMOVING this card (using graphics processing of the motherboard).

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We are sorry to hear that you were experiencing problems with the unit.

Usually these problems are caused by incorrect drivers, hardware failure or incorrect installation make up another set of problems, and external factors can also cause video problems. Before you install the graphics card, please check if the windows supports the graphics card or if they are compatible.

1 out of 5 eggsUnstable

Pros: -Was less expensive than Nvidia's equivalent.

Cons: -Constant resolution problems.
-Drivers problems

Other Thoughts: I've had nothing but trouble since the first day I installed this card. The biggest problem I've had with this card was that I have to reinstall the drivers on a weekly basis because when they crash they get corrupted. This leads to all sorts of graphical oddities until they are reinstalled.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I do understand your concern with the Graphics Card that you have with you. I would like to apologize for any inconvenience it caused you. I want to personally assist you with this matter. Is the BIOS of your motherboard up to date? If your video card crashes, hangs, stutters, or gets display corruption a few minutes after you start a game, it may be overheating. It may also be a chip on the motherboard or the power supply which is overheating. Is your Graphics Card overclocked? Some video cards are unstable if you run them at full speed. Slowing them down can make them work properly. In addition, usually the problem is software or hardware related but occasionally it's just a mechanical problem. Sometimes removing and then reseating the video card in its expansion slot or disconnecting and reconnecting auxiliary power cables can get it to start working properly. Please let me know if this helps, you can email me at customerloyalty@asus.com and place case # N150450735 in the subject line for a reference.

2 out of 5 eggsCaution for those buying this card

Pros: The card runs cool at cool temperatures in a mid-sized case. Great price for the card with rebate. No problems in receiving rebate just follow instructions to the letter. Runs graphic intensive games well when it works, it does suck up the memory at times which can be problematic. When the it worked it was a great card.

Cons: The card started having 3D errors and card failure after a few months. Sometimes the card would completely crash altogether and show horizontal lines on the screen. Othertimes it would flicker in and out and then say recovered from an error. If it did this the screen wouldn't actually fully recover there would be other visual errors until the computer was rebooted. My computer is built with a few ASUS products and i'm quite disappointed in this card as i've had to go back to my old card

Other Thoughts: Good bang for buck just very disappointing and frustrating when the card died so quick.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsKeeps its Cool

Pros: Solid 9270 GPU with good fans and heat sink. Graphics are decent speed is good if not world class - fine for WoW.

Cons: Original description suggested a metal brace on the spine away from the motherboard. My drive came without one and it is mounted in a vertical case. The result it that the video card while working well still droops on the edge away from the motherboard. We'll see what it's like in 5 vears as if anyone will care.

Other Thoughts: I did not find it so long as to be a bother to install although I built the PC in a large, Corsair case (obsidian 650D).

1 out of 5 eggsCard Dead After 2 Months+Horrible Customer Service

Pros: The graphics were beautiful while it lasted

Cons: The card died after being in my computer less than 2 months.
Getting decent Customer Service from Asus seems to be near to impossible.

Other Thoughts: I received this as a Christmas present and was ecstatic to have upgraded graphics, it was literally like having a whole new computer. Imagine my shock and horror when after less than 2 months I got a black screen and had to do a hard reset because my computer became completely unresponsive. This happened 2 more times within as many days before the card died completely and my old video card had to go back into my computer so I could still use my PC.

Since it was over 30 days I couldn't contact Newegg about it, so I looked into contacting Asus regarding the card. I wrote a polite and detailed letter regarding what happened and the first response I got back was simply "You contacted the wrong department" with a link that was supposedly the right page. The thing is, the link they gave me is the exact form I used to contact them. When I wrote back and pointed this out, as well as expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of any care or response. The boiled down response I got was "Well, do you want an RMA?" I'm so beyond frustrated since as a customer I feel like they don't care at all. None of what I wrote in my email was addressed and when I expressed that, it was like they shrugged and said "too bad, we can't waste the energy to actually read what you wrote."

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. It's safe to say I will NEVER use or buy another Asus product, not just because the card is now an expensive paperweight, but because of the absence of any customer care.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear DeAnne,

In behalf of ASUS, I want to thank you for your effort posting this review. I want to apologize as well for the inconvenience this issue have caused you. I know that your disappointed with the unit and the customer service you had experience with ASUS. It's unfortunate if you think the "Product" is a huge disappointment. 3 out of 5 eggscrossfireX extremely underwhelming.

Pros: it is a great card, don't get me wrong. the thing chews through KSP at 60 fps

Cons: the crossfire support only helps when games have an actual profile set up AND you're in full screen. the crossfire is completely useless if you're going to sport two or more monitors.
