4 out of 5 eggsBad Card - ASUS Service Support

Pros: This is just a follow of my review and the service support dealing with RMA Service.
ASUS has been very helpful in dealing with the RMA. I had even told them I removed the stock cooler so as to install a waterblock. They still honored the warranty as long as I had the original cooler and reinstalled it. They could have told me right then and there that it was no longer covered due to that fact.
Also was contacted again by the Rep from ASUS Service Support to know if I got my email for the RMA. Once I explain that the card was sent and received in Markham, Ontario. The person emailed me back stating that it was being swapped out for another card.
All in all the experience has been very good.

Cons: -1 egg due to I had to foot the bill for shipping to ASUS. Thats my only issue with the warranty and the RMA Service.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings Jim,

Thank you very much for updating your review. Although your display card ended up being defective, we are glad everything went as planned with the RMA process. Should you have any questions, please let me know through email. Thank you, and happy gaming! 3577186.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't Go Wrong With This Card

Pros: Overclocks well
Hynix RAM (quality manufacturer)
Plenty of RAM (4GB is a really solid amount of VRAM these days - if just a bit more than needed)
Great cooling solution
Good price
Great performance

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was seriously wanting to get a Radeon R9 290, but since the price went up due to coin miners it sort of defeated the huge upside to that card. I thought I was going to somewhat regret settling for this card, but in the end I'm really glad I got it.

The performance is great, it overclocks very well, and I'm somewhat relieved to be back with Nvidia.

1 out of 5 eggsBad card

Pros: - Excellent fps at higher resolutions.
- Runs nice and cool.

Cons: System crashed for no reason And now there is no signal
Only got 5 weeks ago and it seems to be now dead

Other Thoughts: So I have had this card for about 5 weeks. It was running great until now. I could max out everything at 1920x1200. I am getting no signal to monitor. I have tried everything possible and even put it into another machine and got nothing. So trying ASUS Service.

Manufacturer Response:

I am sorry that you are having issues with the display card. At your earliest convenience, please send me an email regarding this case. Within the email, please provide the following information: drivers installed, operating system installed, troubleshooting steps tried, and your computer part list. I look forward to your reply.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great after some software tweaks

Pros: Fast (duh), very nice cooling, super stable, very solid. Backplate is a nice touch

Cons: 4GB version sold out and can't find it anywhere anymore! :(
Default settings made it run too hot for me; GPU-z a bit frustrating

Other Thoughts: I bought the 4GB version because I need the extra VRAM for my rendering software.

I've used this card in two ASUS motherboards now, and it's been rock solid in both so far when used on its own, even under extended loads with stress tests and (more importantly) games and rendering software. I haven't tried to push the OCing, but on the other hand, it boosts to 1175Mhz by default until the temp gets too high.

Which brings me to my only complaint: A number of external reviews said they couldn't push it beyond around 70C, but mine initially reached 80C easily. This is a problem, because by default it will reduce clock speed when it hits 80C, in order to limit the temperature. When I increased the limit to 88C manually, it had no trouble getting up there, either.

It seems the fan speed adjustment just doesn't like to turn the fans on very high by default (or maybe my installation got messed up). When I manually set the fans to go to 90-100% speed at appropriate temperatures, it seems to top out in the low 70s, which is great.

Unfortunately, the software that Asus gives you to do this, GPU-z, doesn't seem to have an option to automatically load settings when you startup, so you have to manually load them every time you start Windows. Very frustrating, but MSI Afterburner seems to do the trick (although there are some settings you can't access, like target max temperature).

That's a lot of words for a pretty small gripe, though; not going to deduct eggs since the problem is easily solvable.

Overall, great card so far - wish I could get another one!

5 out of 5 eggsMake sure you have the correct drivers

Pros: Super easy install
Two in SLI run amazing

Cons: Make sure you have the correct drivers. I was running nvidia's latest beta drivers which was causing crashes; had to soft reset the whole computer. Make sure you only use the Certified drivers(WHQL) from nvidia.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Sweet Card

Pros: Great shipping time, good packing, comes with a dual 6 pin pci to 8 pin converter cable (didnt need it though)

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: This card was very easy to install and set up. The biggest problem I had was moving a power cable out of the way behind the hard drive b/c the card almost sits against the drive but not touching. Installed latest Nvidia drivers and I was good to go. The card really handles very high settings well w/out getting too hot.

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for your buck

Pros: I popped the card in and ran the installer and that was that. Ive not even had to overclock my card and I've played assassins creed black flag at max graphics so far and the lowest frames a sec was 41.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb!

Pros: * Fast
* Quiet
* Easy to Overclock
* Powerful Enough to Need 8 Pin Connectors For Power
* Came With A Free Game
* Easy To Install
* Compatible With Windows 7
* VERY Fair Price For The Results

Cons: * Generates A LOT of Heat
* Bulky
* Need A Large Power Supply To Run It Well
* Easy To Overclock It TOO MUCH

Other Thoughts: I love this product so far, It runs things at my maximum resolution [1920 X 1080] And my settings at max too. And the free game was a nice bonus. This card lets me play very demanding games at like 16X Anti Aliasing. and TXAA. It's crazy how well this thing goes. and apart from the crazy heat and the power bill, it's a work of art technologically. Thanks to NVIDIA for making it, and thanks to Newegg for selling it for an awesome price!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Great card, High overclocks at a moderate temperature.

Cons: HIGH AMPS. This card requires 42A on a 12v Rail so make sure you have a beefy power supply or your system will crash.

Other Thoughts: Great card, Got on sale for $360.00 set the system up and watched multiple crashes. Though I fried my CPU or MOBO but my old psu which ran my 7970 couldn't run this and I had no idea why. Turned out it was asking for more Amps then my psu could supply. Upgraded to a 750w 63AMP psu and it runs flawlessly.

Runs natural selection at 80 FPS ultra at 30-40%

Do note that on a stressed out game this card will run 60-80C in games such as BF4.
