1 out of 5 eggsvga nightmare

Pros: None

Cons: I change all my hardware for this card And guess what that was the problem.
I send the card to Asus service 2 times and no solution for my problem I have to tell you guys don't trust in the Asus costumer service!

Other Thoughts: Never never Asus again

2 out of 5 eggsPopcorn anyone?

Pros: Installed easy was big but smaller then other 290x cards. Was the reason why I got this card because of the length. 3dmark11 this thing flies awesome scores p13000+ with a FX8350. Easy to download drivers from asus support one reboot and it was ready to go.

Cons: Load up DA Inquisition and a minute into it what's that sound? Is someone cooking hot pockets? Smells like someone is burning styrofoam popcorn. Alright new card I read the reviews and knew this card can get hot but didn't think it would be a problem on a new card. Checked the temps and it was at 92c. Felt my exhaust and it was a heater blowing hot air. I live in a hot region so this isn't the right fit for me.

Other Thoughts: I took it back and replaced it with green. Runs way too hot for me and I have a decent mid tower NZXT H440 with decent air flow. Picked it up at a great price. I really wanted this to work out. This is a beast of a card just wasn't for me.

3 out of 5 eggsinstalled in april 2014

Pros: Great card when not having driver issues, ran Asus drivers for first 2 months started getting artifact switch to Catalyst beta drivers cleared up issue, then around September had driver issues again went to new Asus drivers cleared up and now come 1/19/2015 having issues again with artifacts tried the 14.12 Catalyst drivers they don't seem to help either possible card failure , i put my 7850 back in and it still running like champ. i bought my card when they are coming down from $800 and not even getting years use out of it .

Cons: Fans are bit loud and driver issues none stop

Other Thoughts: After reading up bit more looks like the main cause of the issue could probably be the asus OC on the Vram is to high might try lower the Asus OC.

Leaning toward a gtx 980 as replacement now.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: Works good with AMD drivers. WQHL 14.12 Is what I am using now. Windows driver has black screen issue. Always use AMD drivers from AMD web sight, install under custom with all boxes checked. No problems.

Card preforms well. Was playing Arkham City with it. Seemed to work fine with this game. Also playing allot of GTA 4. No lock ups.

Love the look on my Sabertooth 990fx with it. Blends well with it.

Cons: Was hard to get Catalyst Control Center to work at first. Reinstalled under custom install on AMD web sight to repair CCC. Also fixed black screen issue.

Other Thoughts: Card looks awesome. Silent even running GTA 4 witch my HD 7970 was not (reference). Seems to have low heat output for me. Default settings.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY!

Pros: Fast when it is working.

Cons: Sent out for RMA , was given wrong number and address. Got card back after about a month and a half. Card works a little better when alt tabbing out of games but is randomly locking up during games, when watching videos locks up have to hard reset computer, losing display drivers intermittently and resetting. WOULD NOT BUY THIS JUNK AGAIN! Everything works fine when using my 2 XFX 6950s in crossfire. Swapped everything three times. Its the ASUS card that is the problem, not my computer.

Other Thoughts: Lou was helpful but the card is junk and not his fault. I would be embarrassed to work for a company that is making such a bad product.

3 out of 5 eggsWhen works its a great card but..

Pros: Fast for a single card with plenty of vram. Looks sharp and is customizable either red or yellow.

Cons: Very power hungry and a hot head. Very picky about working with certain drivers. Day one I installed this 6 months ago it flickered and the monitor went black. Had to pick and choose more up to date drivers for this to work in safe mode. Windows technical preview installed the wrong driver and crashed the screen as well. Forget about using beta drivers. I tried this card in two different systems with plenty of psu headroom just to be sure..

Other Thoughts: Was tempted to get a second card now that its on sale but why throw good money after bad. I read that RMA'ing the card is useless as they send the cards back telling you theres nothing wrong with it from previous reports. I talked to tech support and they think certain drivers don't set the screen refresh rate appropriately. Well this is a serious problem. I have even updated the firmware to the latest. Forget about resell value if the card is a dud. I like Asus as a company, esp their motherboards, but their driver support for audio and video components is fair at best. STAY AWAY!!!

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Runs as it should and has increased my fps by a good margin (see other thoughts).

Cons: Runs hot and wattage heavy. But thats a given when it comes to AMD cards and CPUs.

5 out of 5 eggsSo good I bought a second!

Pros: I was surprised by the quality of this card. The cooler assembly is metal, not plastic. I really like the choice of either red or gold accents (or none). So many cards come in one color, and if it doesn't match everything else in your computer, you're out of luck. This is a simple but very nice touch. There is also a metal backplate which looks very nice and adds to the quality feel.

The price on this is fantastic!

I bought this card to replace a pair of HD 7950s in Crossfire. One of these has roughly 170% the performance of a single HD 7950, so I figured I would buy a second one. The performance scaling with 2x Crossfire is good, but will probably be better, see below.

In heavy load these cards stay relatively quiet.

Cons: I have had no problems with either card.

Other Thoughts: If you get a second one of these, make sure you have an adequate power supply. I have an 850W power supply and thought it would be enough. It is not. You should have at least a 1000W power supply for 2x Crossfire. I have a 1300W unit on the way, and expect it to alleviate my issues.

1 out of 5 eggsBe very wary

Pros: When i could make it work it was great.

Cons: Problem with the bios causing it to black screen when it hit a certain heat point (never broke 50 degrees c on a chip rated for 95). Increasing fan speed helped by increasing run time by half and instead of black screening it windowed the game into a useless window. "GPU Tweak" wouldn't update so couldn't mess with the vbios.

Other Thoughts: I will grant that part of my issue was with a faulty component in the card, causing it to cause red screen when un-powered for awhile. Everything else is what people complain about. But my experience with this was completely ridiculous.

Manufacturer Response:
