4 out of 5 eggsruns like an 8600gt

Pros: The drivers work in Vista. Performs like an 8600gt should. Very quiet.

Cons: Other included software is not Vista compatible. I didn't get a lot of extra fun freebies for testing.

Other Thoughts: A no nonsense card from a rather nonsensical company. The rebate tells me to cut out a portion of the box with the UPC. That same portion also contains a sticker that says, "Removal of this sticker will void warranty."

4 out of 5 eggsgets the job done

Pros: this card has very good price to performance. cheap

Cons: only gddr2. when playing games if you dont have updated drivers it runs hot and you get lots of artifacts. updated to latest drivers and now runs fine.

Other Thoughts: if you dont have a lot of money but still want to play farly new games at 1024x768 this is the card for you

2 out of 5 eggsGDDR2 for the lose.

Pros: DX10, does fairly well in most current games.

Cons: This is the crippled GDDR2 version, avoid it and go for one of the standard 8600GT cards with GDDR3 memory.

Other Thoughts: Honestly, it'd be a better choice to get a superior X1950GT or 7900GS over an 8600GT since it's not very likely that the 8600s will do too well in DX10 games.

2 out of 5 eggsI would not even pee on this if it was on fire

Pros: none, the only pro i can think of is that newegg. com gave me a RMA

Cons: only lasted 1 day. Crashed every time i ran a game, then if that was not bad enough, it could not even preform basic task, like keeping my desktop the same color. My screen looked like a sand box of pixels.

Other Thoughts: It said it was tested and made for Vista, that was a load of bull, not only could it not run on vista, the drivers that came in the box were made for XP. Even with Nvidias unified drivers, the card dint work.
