5 out of 5 eggsFirst ATI DX10 card

Pros: After the rebate, you can't go wrong. The card doesn't get too hot for a fanless card. Believe it or not, it played half-life lost coast at 59 FPS, but only got 4 FPS on the Lost Planet Stress tess.

Cons: You get what you pay for in video cards, but in this case, if you want to deal with a rebate, you get a bit more.

Other Thoughts: This card will NOT play, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Bioshock, and any of the more recent games. I would say if a game's system requirements are a 64MB video card, then this card is the ticket.

2 out of 5 eggsslower than builtinboard on ECS Goal3+

Pros: No noise.
Displays still images well.

Cons: Slowed down three different systems with lataest drivers from web-site. I wanted to add a little bit better graphics than the on board graphics. I new this wouldn't be a major step up but was vary disappointed it was a step back. Web pages which used to scroll smothly now jerk & lag.

Other Thoughts: If you have the ECS/Pcchip's Goal 3+ it wasn't an improvement over what's built into PCB for me.

5 out of 5 eggsits still good

Pros: price, Dx10, Pci-E, made my 3dMark05 from 752 with onboard to 5114 so that a huge pro it may not be the best there is but its better then my onboard it

Cons: the memory clock isn't 800mhz untill you oc with the CCC program same with the core clock to get the 700mhz out of it you have to use ther program but not really a con cuz its EZ to do

Other Thoughts: biostar tf7025, amd 5000 be oc to 3.2ghz, 2gb corsair XMS2 pro DDR2 675 oc to DDR2 800 (333 to 400) and this card

2 out of 5 eggscheap card

Pros: Bought this card as an emergency PCI-Express graphics card for system builds (wanted a cheap, baseline card for temporarily installing in systems having graphics issues for troubleshooting, as I'm a system builder.) Doesn't take up too much room and doesn't require a power connection from PSU.

Cons: Cheaply made and runs way too hot. heatsinks attached hapharardly, making the card overheat very quickly, causing screen corruption, BSOD, etc. I can troubleshoot things like this and take the time to install heatsinks properly, but I fear that Joe Average user (targeted customer for this type of card) would have issues. Most of these fanless cards really heat up the case interior in a hurry, unless you've configured an efficient windtunnel-like cooling stratagy (again, Joe Average wouldn't probably have something set up in his case to effectively cool the card and case interior.)

Other Thoughts: There are newer cards out there now that do a better job. These fanless cards look good on paper when considering a lower noise build, but the truth is...not having a fan on the card just makes the other fans operate more loudly as compensation.

1 out of 5 eggsWorks Great... Until It Decides To Die

Pros: Great for the less than modern gamer, like me. i dont want to spend money on the latest game, so i buy the ones from the discount store. plays halo2 fine, halo fine, i had just gotten cod4, and it dies!!!!!!!

Cons: DIES!!!!!!! i was restarting my system after installing the latest drivers, and i got the "no vga or bag vga ram" bios beep code (one long, 2 short) i have been building and making systems for quite some time, and i would expect better from GIGABYTE. i am hopeing that my customers dont expierence the same thing because they have had gigabyte parts in their systems for the same ammount as my card has been in my system.

Other Thoughts: DONT BUY THIS CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsNice card for the price

Pros: Very nice card for the price. This is aimed for the general user, with some multimedia applications. It is not for the high-end gamer.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Some may have encountered what they thought was an issue with this cards driver taking out their sound card. That is not really the case. Just go into control panel/sound and set the input back to you sound card. This driver installs a high def audio interface that gets promoted ahead of your sound card in the sound properties. Easy to fix.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what nVidia can't

Pros: Quiet fanless design that maintains a temp of 47-51 degrees.

Cons: I hate it when the specs don't mention a recommended wattage for the power supply.

Other Thoughts: This card runs Sims 2 w/EPs very well. I had to return an nVidia card the next day I bought it because it was causing the game to crash after a couple of minutes. Neither EA nor nVidia want to take responsibility for the problem so nVidia had to go since I had so much invested in the Sims 2 games. Nothing more prevalent than a consumer scorned.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very powerful given the money you spend for it, have had no problems getting my fav games to play on high settings. I can play Guild Wars at 1280x1024 with 4x AA and have no framerate issues at all. I can play UT2004 at very high res, all highest settings, and run a server and still not a single hiccup.

Cons: The overclock utility doesn't seem to work with this card. It could be some bug in my software or such, but since the card is doing well without my overclocking it, I figure it will do until I upgrade in a year or so.

Other Thoughts: when upgrading ATI drivers make sure to completely uninstall them and even wipe them clear with something like Driver Cleaner or else you could run into problems.

3 out of 5 eggsWorse than onboard video in Linux

Pros: It's a solid, silent Windows. For the price, anyway. It WILL let you play most new games, even Crysis, although you won't be busting any framerate records.

Cons: Analog and digital output had some pretty significant sparkles, or at least noticeable on a larger monitor. This may have been this particular card or the drivers. Which brings me to Linux support. It's effectively not there. My onboard video (which is sub-standard even by onboard video standards) allowed me higher resolutions than this card. UNDER LINUX. For Windows, you should be golden.

Other Thoughts: The sad state of ATI Linux drivers is depressing. This card would have been perfect if only there was some effort put into a growing market, but ATI I guess has their hands full these days.

3 out of 5 eggsDON'T EXPECT MUCH

Pros: It's cheap. It works and it definitely won't overheat. If you want a workable low end card this is for you.

Cons: It's low in performance. I replaced my xfx geforce 7900 because I was experiencing over-heating and this is a sub par replacement. You get what you pay for. Color is off. Image quality is down significantly. The software is not permitting me to adjust it properly. Automatic settings are poor.

Other Thoughts: Vista performance ratings for this card dropped from a 5.9 for the geforce to a 3.4. I paid about $159 for the geforce 7900 and $50 for this. While I wouldn't recommend that card (overheated and crashed after about a year) I would recommend spending the extra money for something similar.
