very satified for the price and performance
- Pros: was a cheap upgrade to run dual monitors or in my case my tv and computer monitor...fit perfectly into a dimension 4700c after swapping brackets. bought it in august no issues so far..plug in play in my case the software included ran it fine.
- Cons: none its better then the integrated card and if i was a gamer i would not be buying this card. in that matter i wouldn't own a tiny old dell =)
Works great in Ubuntu 9.10 with Dual Head
- Pros: 2 monitors setup works great in Ubuntu 9.10. Using the Nvidia-glx-185 driver from Synaptic. Much lower processor overhead when using emulators. Can now play YouTube HD clips full screen, unlike Intel video. The price is unbelievable!
- Cons: It was a bit of trial-and-error getting the card to work and getting the right drivers installed, but it was definitely worth it.
- Other Thoughts: You will be able to boot into Ubuntu without installing the drivers, BUT, make sure you turn off the Compiz effects or you'll get a blank white screen when logging in. Had to figure this out the hard way. Also, I couldn't get the latest downloaded drivers from Nvidia working, since you needed to boot into a console without X starting up to install it, but wasn't sure how to do that. The nvidia glx drivers work great, so I'm happy with that.
A Fine Card So Far
- Pros: Inexpensive, quiet, and has a composite video out.
- Cons: Relatively low peformance (but that is to be expected).
