5 out of 5 eggsRebate

Pros: Hey! My rebate from Gigabyte finally arrived! Took about 10 weeks.

Cons: Zalman cooler would be better if it were made from copper.

Other Thoughts: One day I'll buy another one. Waiting for AMD to use DDR2 and I'll upgrade to an SLI mobo.

4 out of 5 eggsMore than one way....

Pros: Installation of aftermarket GPU cooler covered by warranty.

Cons: No heatsinks on memory chips. Heatsink made of aluminum, not copper.

Other Thoughts: Actually, I don't own this card, but had planned to buy it. I would have, but it's been out of stock for a while. I bought another 7800GT card and the copper version of the same Zalman GPU cooler and created a slightly better version of this card for only $10 more. I'm sure performance will be identical. However, with the separate Zalman cooler, I get memory heatsinks and a solid copper heatsink for the GPU. The installation is a little less elegant, but cooling performance is probably better. The installation of the Zalman cooler was simple.

Pros: This card is great. The software bundle is good and it runs very very well.
Zalman fan!!

Cons: Only bad thing thing is that there are no heatsinks on the memory chips!! By far the only flaw. But a huge one. that is why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
Other cons.... Now i have to adjust my forum sigs....

Other Thoughts: I also purchased a set of OCZ Copper BGA RAM Heatsinks and attached it with Artic silver thermal adhesive. All of that sombined puts me at an idle temp of 38c and a full load temp of only 40c!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: This is a great Videocard. Easy to install, especially if you own a Gigabyte Motherboard, though I imagine it should be as easy with any other board as well. Great value, considering the rebate offer, special COD2 offer and bundled software. Especially good if you are going with a non-SLI configuration, since that way you can avoid losing a PCI slot, I installed a 700watt Source to it, so it should be pretty stable. Again, it is your prerrogative to provide a good source of power for your hardware, and since a V-card is an investment, its just foolish to spare the small amount of cash that gets you the appropiate power source.

Cons: I can see how the fan can get in the way of things, but then again, I would not have considered this card if I was aiming for a SLI configuration, Gigabyte offers the card without the fan, I think, which is the ideal one for the SLI duo config, other cooling options exist for this of course. Some problems with the COD2 promo, its been almost a month and I have not gotten my copy, nor any confirmation of shipment. E-mailing Gigabyte support about this has provided only minor results. However, none of these cons really affect the value and quality of the product as a whole.

Other Thoughts: Never buy a $xxx+ video card if you are not sure that you can provide: 1) Adequate power. 2) Adequate cooling. 3) Adequate grounding of the whole system.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 7800GT, aftermarket cooling. not much else you could ask for (maybe a second one)

Cons: Zalman cooler is large, but in an SLI mobo if you are running solo its no problem. You could do SLI even with the Zalman but as stated in another review, you would lose a PCI slot if thats a problem for you.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: Everything about this card is a pro. Excellent cooler and excellent performance for a good price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: To discredit the reviewer before the previous reviewer, of course this card uses two molex, unless you have a pci-e compatable PSU like the previous review stated. Other than that what else would you use? And, it is not the cards fault if the PSU fries the card. Oh yeah if there are problems with cords being tangled in the fan, learn how to organize cables in your case. It is the sign of a good computer builder. Bottom line this is a great card.

5 out of 5 eggsPrevious reviewer's lack of understanding

Pros: Zalman fan from the factory, affordable, better than any 6 series card

Cons: low end 7 series, so dont expect it to perform the same as a card thats xxx dollars more

Other Thoughts: previous reviewer isnt to bright, all 7 series ship with the same power connector, which u have to use with ALL 7 series cards unless your PSU has an SLI power connector, if you lack the technical knowledge to accuratley describe a product dont write a review

2 out of 5 eggsNeeds too much power & uses molex

Pros: Its a 7800GT and has had good performance reviews.

Cons: Requires two molex connections to power it and the fan fins are exposed (so you'll be fishing your wires out of them constantly).

Other Thoughts: I never got to see this card perform. Either it or my PSU had a short in the molex and the card got fried on the first boot. Other vid cards have better power connectors (just make sure your PSU has the right connectors).
