Pros: Very good card. It does what it is suppose to do. I am very satisfied with the performance. I went with 512MB version since I'm using it with 1680x1050 monitor. It even has an auto-tune feature for automatically overclocking the video card. Card has also been very stable. Glad I made the switch from N_____.

Cons: It runs hot. It will easily reach 72-75c. However the latest ATI drivers allow you to set the speed of the fan. With my former Antec P160 case, I use to set the fan to 40%. Temps were around 56-57c. Now with the Antec 1200 I have the speed set to 32% and I get around 52-54c. It all depends on the air flow and room temperatures.

Other Thoughts: I will be picking up a second card down the road so that I can use it in crossfire setup. Never done multiple gpu before. Looking forward to it.

Pros: Silky Smooth gaming. Hammers everythiing i play:
cod4, cod5, tf2, L4D,TRU - Maxed to the hilt. (more power than needed for those titles)

Cons: not a power sponge, but at a time when every component on the market seems to use less and less electricity, ati joins nvidia in reversing that trend.

Other Thoughts: Fan is not that Loud, think about how your case is built.
small cases will make it louder. I run my fan speed at 60% constant, and it isnt that bad.
(42 C idle, 48 C load which isnt that hot for a vidcard)

latest drivers offer fan speed control which is a big plus.
The 3870 i used to run had no fan speed control without 3rd party garbage (rivajunk).

Single cards will always out perform crossfire/sli in fps
and render speed. check tomshardware.

Pros: Works fine, no problems.

Cons: Stock cooler is a bit on the loud side when taken above 40%.

Other Thoughts: This was added to my rig to utilize 4870 Crossfire. Haven't overclocked this card yet as I'm waiting on my waterblock for it. Then it should be able to hit 800/3960 like my primary 4870.

Pros: Does what I want it to do, which is, play Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3, etc.

Basically, it makes these games I like look great to me.

Cons: Nothing to be critical about yet

Other Thoughts: I use to be about getting the best graphics card money can buy, but now I just look for products that get good reviews from sites and such at a more reasonable price.

I am keeping an eye on this to get a second down the line for the same system.

The exhaust port is warm about back, and hot to the touch. But it runs quiet enough to my liking. Not silent, but quiet.

Pros: A clear improvement over the 8800GT that I had in my rig before. All that 4870 goodness! Not as fast as GeForce 280 and sometimes even with the 260.
Great price if you catch it onsale with the mail-in-rebate (I got mine for $200)

Cons: Runs hot! (Better get latest drivers from ATI and crank up the fan speed to at least 35-40%)
Price could be better although the card does provide excellent bang for the buck.
Could use better cooling/fan solution (think impossible to find Force3d 4870)

Other Thoughts: Not a bad card to buy if you catch it on sale like I did. It is a step up for you 8800GT or 8800GTS (G92) card owners.

Pros: I must, admit, I'm loving this card. As others have said, this does run Really HOT. Once you install it, you will have to download the new drivers and catalyst control center in order to control the fan. Once the fan is ratched up (I put it to 38%) it's fine. You will notice a difference in room temperature, so make sure you have a window or Fan in the room.
Frame rates are beautiful. MS Vista Ultimate gave it the 5.9 rating (top) and I have two 22" panels feeding off it without a hiccup. Great for watching movies as well.

Cons: I didn't know I needed to download new drivers. Got really hot until I figured that one out.

Other Thoughts: May want to D/L drivers before installing. And check out the power requirements as well. You get an INSANE performance, but it does chew up some power.

Pros: Wow. All I can say is wow. I went from an HD4850 Crossfire setup to two of these HD4870's and I'm glad I did. My frames have increased by at least 50%. The price for these cards is just gorgeous. I got them when they were $249.99 with the $40.00 Mail in rebate and free shipping. That price makes it a steal. Make the splurge, put in the extra $100 now and get back $40 in a few months and get a card that's a ton better than that HD4850 or 9800GTX+. This thing also mops the floor with the GT260, 216 Shader cores and all.

Cons: Pink? C'mon. Isn't there another color you could have gone with? Oh well, I guess I can relish in the thought of pwning someone who just made fun of my pink cards. Oh, these cards do get a little toasty, and thus you must run the fan speed up. The fans are a little on the noisy side, but isn't that why they have a volume nob on your speakers/headphones?

Other Thoughts: Thank you Newegg. Ordered this thing on Tuesday, got to me Wednesday. And that was free shipping, too! Thank you Gigabyte for putting such an amazing price tag on a beautiful piece of computer hardware. I guess you could say I'm "egg"sessive =)

Pros: This card ROCKS! I am pushing over 16000 in 3Dmark 06. For those that complain that this card runs hot, you need to remove the stock HSF and put a Zalman VF-1000 on it. I just ran 3DMark06 in continuous loop for over 2 hours and my max temp was 51C. In 2 mins it cooled down to 38C.

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: Intel E8500, 4GB Crucial Ballistix, Gigabyte HD4870, 2XWD 500GB in Raid 0, Antec Nine Hundred.

Pros: Bought two of these babies a few days ago and put them in my new build, and wow... Crysis all high settings @ ~25-30fps with x4 aa! So much faster than my old 8800gts.

Cons: This card runs hot but with the new Catalyst 8.10 drivers from ATI, you should be able to adjust the fan speed and eliminate this. Also, they are VERY LOUD. I can't even play COD4 anymore... its too fast.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately my processor bottlenecks these cards badly, but I'm working on upgrading... Also, Crysis hates crossfire. Hopefully future drivers/patches fix this. Oh well.

Pros: Runs most of games i've tried maxed out including AA. Crysis runs on all High fine. Fan speed is easy to change with the 8.10 driver release once you unlock the ATI overdrive setting. Major improvement over the 8600 GT I bought in January just to get my system running.

Cons: We know it's going to be a long card. All I had to do was move a HDD over a slot in my ATX Mid Tower case. Didn't fit by maybe a 1/4" before i moved the drive.

Other Thoughts: Definately your best buy for a card right now on Price/Performance. Might want to get it while the $40 rebate is in effect, it was a $25 rebate last week :(.
